  • I think? certain female pop artists come at you left field ? They generate new musical expression,if ever you find a woman rifle through her music box, never know what musical joys a man might find in there?

  • I SO wanna be in a Kate Bush video!!

  • I love Bjork, Kate Bush, Fever Ray, Cocorosie and many others great and talented artists! :D

  • I love Kate Bush,Björk , tori amos... And Émilie Simon she sourd Like Kate Bush her Voice is nearly identical if you listen carefully "the big machine " one of her album.

  • This is why I'm not scared of Disney, Thriller or anything someone like the Nostalgia Critic would say is fucking creepy. Raiders of the Lost Ark didn't even scare me. But these Kate Bush vids are so mindfucking yet so well done, this was why I had nightmares.

  • Nobody sounds like Kate Bush and nobody sounds like Bjork. They are both some of the most innovative and creative singer/songwriters of today, with equally incredible vocal ranges and musical abilities which are incomparable to any current-day singers. Best of all, they are both still making music, so there is no need for anyone to carry the torch just yet. And yes, Kate Bush influenced Bjork, just in the same way that another singer probably influenced Kate.

  • happy australia day!!!;)

  • her dancing in this is sooo sexy!

  • Ooooooooooook!!! "The dreaming" especially, and in my opinion "50 words for snow" are the only albums that NO ONE and I say it again NO ONE will ever come close to this musical creativity and ideas that they had!! OMG this woman should get a statue of her own for her big contribution to music!!

  • Is that peter gabriel to her right?

  • any one notice she's wearing a Freman Still-Suit

  • I love her dancing, she can move well to the beat, makes me wana boogie

  • kate is the best. She has got very original ideas for her songs :)

  • Bjork & Bush are different

  • Forget about the comparisons - be it Tori Amos, Bjork (ugh!), Florence or Gaga - there is only ONE Kate Bush and there will never be another. In fact, I don't believe there will ever be another female singer - EVER - who who could justifiably be placed in a league anywhere near that of Miss Bush. She is one in one hundred million.

  • @ThePROTO1TYPE you are totally right there is none like miss bush or shall there ever be This lady writtes also a lot of her music and in these days the most female singers they can only sing but cannot play any instruments Tori Amos well ...she is a different story but she cannot sing with a raw voice and Bjork ...she is weird and none of them females had as many hits as kate bush and please don't mention GaGa en kate in the same sentence The difference between them is to big and KaKa sucks

  • Pop stars today owe Kate Bush a huge debt, a debt so huge it cannot be paid that easily with fortune!

  • I'm going out dancing like this - Kate rocks BIG TIME!

  • had no idea that a video for this existed....best song off the dreaming.

  • Björk has stated that she was influenced by Kate a little, but Björk states that she's more influenced by Brian Eno. There's a definite Kate influence on mostly all great artists now-a-days, so I think that they take that in stride and innovate that with their own thing. There is no "new Kate Bush" because Kate Bush is Kate Bush and Björk is Björk.

  • @JoeyMcChipmunk Debut was clearly influenced by Kate Bush, but there are a lot of other influences, not to mention atonal music, people like Taverner ... I see Kate Bush as the founder of a songwriter school but of course the other artists are artists in their own right. Tori Amos made an album some years ago where the cited influencial artists, of course Kate Bush but also The Doors and many others musicians. Today, there are a lot of young singers who sound a bit bjorkish ;)

  • fantastic song but i think the dancing is a bit wierd

  • I love how weird she is! The Lady Gaga of her time without the obscenity

  • @Salvationschild

Yes, Lady Gaga, only with talent!

  • bjork and lady gaga should learn from the master

  • @LudwigVilas lady gaga? yes... bjork???? what? you probably dont know bjork, when you compare her with lady gaga...

  • Strange, wonderful, beautiful, original, enigmatic, eccentric, genius! Fan! Fucking! tastic!

  • simply brilliant

  • Somehow I got from this brilliant song to a Rolf Harriss song then to another Rolf song, then to that dumb hippo and dog singing in the jungle and then to a creepy French music video of an animated toddler...

    HOW? O_O

  • "The song is about the destruction of Aboriginal homelands by white Australians in their quest for weapons-grade uranium"-Wikipedia

I love this song at least there is meaning to it unlike the crap that is put out these days.

  • @conjoe22 I know that Bush's songs had been, in other instances, inspired by films. I wonder if this song was inspired by the movie "Walkabout", which concerns the aforementioned subject of the clash of cultures in "the outback".

  • 0:46 - 1:03 BEST.

  • これわ すごすぎ! ケイト is a genius! Didn't like this at first but it's grown on me. Just weirdly wonderful. でわ。。。。サラバ。

  • This song is strongly influenced by "Sun Arise" by Rolf Harris (search for it on youtube). I was surprised to hear that Alice Cooper covered Harris' song (I had just become aware since I had a version by a 60's band called The Ballroom). Still, I love Kate's song a lot!

  • @ronbo11 Ay theres also alien sex fiend ignore the machine, rolf intro lest we forget.

  • GaGa WISHES.

  • Does anyone else get the same "knock on the head" with the line: "see the lights ram through the gaps in the land"? And the "light rope" scene! O_O! She knows what she's singing about!

  • @Countcordeaux I had never seen anyone describe it that way but I agree 100% there´s something in those background voices that feel like eeeeeeHHHHHH but in a cool way. Finally somebody that had the notion to write that.

  • I remember waiting on Christmas day for this video to get it's first airing on tv.. I was amazed and I think my parents were a bit worried at a 15 year old paying so much attention to her curves and how she moved them. They had already almost shit themselves after seeing the Sensual World lyrics.

  • This song reminds me of Fever Ray . . ..

  • @aryaloves you are a loser, you mean FEVER RAY REMINDS YOU OF KATE BUSH

  • @amigoacid I meant that this song by Kate Bush is like Fever Rays song type. Fever Ray doesn't remind me of Kate Bush, Kate Bush reminds me of Fever Ray cause I see only Fever Ray in Kate Bush. I know what I meant, I don't need your crap.

  • Brilliant! I love it when Kate is at her wierdest.

  • Most interesting modern music originates from Kate Bush!

  • Love it!

  • OMG< yay not one dislike ! that says something.

  • @fallingfromtheseas 2 Plebeians "solved that" sadly. People will ALWAYS deliver the Lowest Common Denominator. Especially in a land where fart-jokes are still king.

  • The dancing is amazing, hypnotic yet simple. brilliant piece of Theatre...

  • Quite enigmatic music, so much to get into, wow ...

  • weird... and very creative.

  • Brilliant choreography. I can't take off my eyes everytime I see it.

  • She is so awesome.I wish I could sing and If I could,it would be like this.

  • Masterpiece !

  • My Favorite album...

  • Bang-a goes another kanga on the bonnet of the van-a. Sometimes when I listen to this song I sit and laugh. Others I sit in awe. The words and rhythm and melodies feel so natural and verge on perfection. The small imperfections just make it better (although I can't identify any myself...).

  • i can barely understand what shes saying in most of the song

  • uh ray me kin ea

  • @misssarahlee1

    Best album ever made.

  • the dreaming is my favourite no.1 album of alltimes.in summer of 1986,when i was 14 yrs old,i went to town to buy hounds of love cassette but i didnt have enough money and had to settle for the dreaming on tape instead.i was stunned when i heard the album and amazed at kates voice.all of summer86i listened to the album over and over again, and developed a strange relationship with it[as i did with hounds of love flip side of album, ninth wave masterpiece].

  • @fergusil the dreaming album---houdini,suspended in gaffa and night of the swallow are gems

  • Such a talented singer/songwriter.

  • I feel the opposite. Nothing could be more exciting musically than to hear the latest, whether remixed, or new

  • @lenief I don't like remixes, the result is usually terrible but fact, this is Kate Bush, not the Black Eyed Stupids lol in a way she will 'remake' herself, this should be fun to hear.

  • fantastic track taken from a fantastic album...

  • Florence isn't the new Kate Bush, it's clearly been Bjork that's been the closest to Kate Bush who can carry the torch so to speak. Tori Amos sounds like Kate Bush but she doesn't have all those weird eccentric vids, whereas Bjork definitely has.

  • @jrmetmoi i totally agree, bjork is the closest artist to kate bush, in terms of video presentation and song content. plus bjork doesnt care if her voice is off key.

  • @jah420smp it's all true man!

  • @jrmetmoi Fuck that, there is no "new" Kate Bush. Bjork doesn't even come close to Kate bush in terms of musical ability or vocal skill

  • @ReverendNervousDog They are similar in their uniqueness. People compare them, because, let's face, there aren't many others that can even come close to comparing...

  • @ReverendNervousDog Because Bjork is so far superior, right?

  • digereedon't

  • I know I'm going against the general consensus here but as a Kate fan I feel like this video is like a huge step backwards! We aren't in the 80's or 90's any more. I love the old videos but that was then and this is now. this song obviously has a serious message but this video to me detracts from any message. Sorry Kate and other Kate fans.

  • @1970MrsB It's performance art and very innovative even by today's standards. Unfortunately, for all the "advances" in video production, which are much cheaper now then they were then, music doesn't seem to be moving forward at all. With all these bands covering and rehashing music that has been done before, it seems that music itself is going backwards rather than forward.

  • @1970MrsB Don't be confused, this video is a MUSIC video, not a documentary for TV or theaters. And it's a rather cheap video, from the early 80's, not from now. For the message, just check the lyrics. This video respects them and the message is very clear, especially with the dead aborigenes coming from underground, their clothes covered with oil.

Anyway don't tell me that the songs and music videos today have political messages. It's all commercial, for the money - and for oil.

  • @writerblaster well that makes sense. I thought Kate looked rather young but she has aged really well. I'll get the dunce hat and stand in the corner until the end of the class ;) I agree with you about music today. There are gems out there but unfortunately they are very much hidden in the rough.

  • @1970MrsB Yes, that's the saddest thing. Imagine if Kate releases a new album now, the way it would be buried under all the 'pop' shit...

  • @writerblaster she is releasing a new album in like a month

  • @lenief Serious? This is really GREAT news.

We have such a strong need of visionary music artists around, with good songs to give out and serious things to say... it'll be very interesting to see how she will be welcome these so silly, electronic commercial days!

  • @writerblaster yep! May 16th You can go to kate bush dot com. Or see her facebook page ~ 4th status down at the moment.

  • @lenief Okay, heard she'd only revisit some of her songs, from her early days and also from two of her last albums, 'The Sensual World' and 'The Red Shoes'. Some of her works she seems the most 'embarrassed' of. A bit disappointing but anyway, let's wait and see!

  • LA LA LA LA

    is this mic on?

  • Kate is such a genius, and an incredible artist and woman. Not one of those too many clowns we see today, along with their crappy electro 'music'! Anybody should check her unique work as a singer and composer (especially the album 'The Dreaming') just to see what they are missing and keeping missing - the best of music. The worst of it is now and is still to come I guess... THIS IS FANTASTIC.

  • The Dreaming... the greatest album of all time! In my opinion!

This video is so............. just like everything with Kate Bush.

    Inspiring!

  • the dreaming album is really atmospheric and having not listened to her for a while, I've just been reminded how absolutely brilliant she is! Got all CDs and most albums (vinyl) ... been lovin' her since I was 12!

C'mon Kate .... give us somethin' else to rave about !!!

  • The bad thinkg about being a fresh fan is that you missed things that are gone forever. And the good thing is discovering the richness of Kate's music. And every new thing makes me shout:WOW, she's a genious. A multitalented woman. So inspiring. So precious.

  • @Sharmilka Yeah, same thing happened to me. To listen to her music is like getting a glipmse of another era, where things were so different. She is truly fantastic.

  • Genius! Genius! Genius!!!!!

  • nice to hear some australian content in a great tune. well done katie!!!

  • i feel like this song is particularly insanely ahead of it's time.

  • Loved her since 1985! What a voice, what a body, and those lips! OMG!

  • Kate, you are incredible...

  • The video is just TRUE ART!! And the song just EPIC!!! Can't explain with words how big is Kate Bush and her ART MUSIC!!! LOVE HER SO MUCH!!!

  • The Dreaming.............. What can I say, still my favourite album after all these years.

Totally absorbing, weird, wonderful and mesmerising. Thanks for an excellent upload!

  • @Coasterdude: I said second best (Hounds Of Love being the best!!). :-)

  • Yay Kate Bush, the only female creative prodigy I can think of, made a Youtube account. Win.

  • @madtom1337 It might be made by her company cause she set up her own Record Label so she could have more control of her music :)

  • Wow -an incredible song from Kate's second best album,

  • @spikeangel100 Third album...Lionheart was the second, The Dreaming was the third

  • @Coasterdude02149 sorry to inform you that youre wrong.kates 1st album-the kick inside[1978],,2nd album- lionheart[1978],,3rd album-never forever[1980],,4th album-the dreaming[1982],,5th album-hounds of love[1985]',,6th album-the sensual world[1989],,7th album-the red shoes[1993],,8th album-arial [2005]. best of album-the whole story[1986]

  • @fergusil Crap...you’re right...I forgot Never Forever :~/ sorry

  • Weird, though what else would I expect. Brilliant- hadn't seen this one before.

  • The Dreaming sounds like Fever Ray, so that makes Kate About 25 years ahead of her time...that is the mark of a genius.

  • I'm just astounded this got in the top 50!

Can I hear the sound of EMI execs shooting themselves in the background as their pop princess turns into a female David Byrne?

  • Which other artist would dare to make such a record? Only the genius that is Kate Bush !!!

  • @Urkopdetv.That's why we admire her so much!

  • this has to be her best video!

such a dark and frightening landscape and soundscape

    but soooo good!

    love kate bush!!!!!!
