I have to disagree with pokemall. Yes it is true that cliff Burton kicked ass. And he will always be remembered. However,not listening to the metallica that has Jason and rob in it is just insane. O.K. yeah, I believe GH has opened up old music to the next generation. But, some of my friends think people who only know songs because of GH/RB are posers. They're mostly talking about people who are like "Oh yeah I know Metallica, I play 'One' in Guitar Hero 3 but that's the only song I know." I'm a kid who has discovered Deep Purple and Judas Priest through GH/RB but I hear a song on GH/RB that I like then I go look up the band on the net and listen to more of them.

Ya I would have to agree. Maybe it's because I grew up on the old rock n' roll that I find it harder to adjust.

Although, then again I don't think that has anything to do with it. I think new music just sucks. I hate the new "emo" BS. Death metal, brutal death, screamo. All of which require almost no talent as the older music genres did. Anyone can scream or growl into a mic. I like articulate lyrics.

Being 16 this kinda seems weird to me. As all of my friends listen to all the genres I hate.

I agree with you that new music sucks, but there is far worse music out there than Death metal, screamo etc. Don't get me wrong I hate the screaming/growling aswell and ye it doesn't require skill but there is Drummers and Guitarists in those bands and you know they require skill, and a lot of death metal bands have freak drummers/guitarists.

People here complaining about new/bad music aren't complaining about death metal and shit as much as they're complaining about hip hop etc.

Majority? Easily a majority! Ask someone to name 10 bands that represent metal, rock and the like, that are modern. I'm thinking maybe 20% could? Now ask people to name 10 hip-hop artists and such. People could easily name 20. Guitar Hero is actually helping though, I know it. More than half my Gr. 8 class has opened themselves to rock music
