well, i got on my first try...so woohoo for me! i guess a lot of ppl just missed the first tip:

"Make sure the loose end of the yarn is at the bottom of the 'x'."

Which just means, when u make the loop, the tail end(or strip, whatever u wanna call it) is below the big loop.

before, all i did was do a regular knot in the beginning, cast on, then start knitting away. then i rnoticed my knots were different from sum of my friends' knots, and i realized theres a big difference between SLIP knot and just knot.
