  • Thanks you, Videos very nice,

  • In Philly, PA, Imagin this long trolleybus on the Route 66.

  • I like riding in the center section. It's fun when the bus turns.

  • If SEPTA have these 60 ft. trolleybus, I know what routes they'll put on. (Rts 15, 23, & 56).

  • wait-no-they-dont-they-have-e40lfr's-my-mistake

  • i-know-septa-has-these-i-was-just-saying-it-sounds-like-a-hybrid

  • it-sound-like-a-hybrid

  • @ newflyer 12: *Really*?! Check a video of a DE60LFR and reconsider your statement!

  • @newflyer3000 Oh those Buses?? Those are like Monsterous size buses from which I seen in the books and from online but I dont understand is how they can make any stop light Instantly go to GO LIGHT , Im talking traffic signal authority.

  • @newflyer12 yeah its just complete Electric !!

  • MAN I wish Valley Metro got these Buses intead of the LIGHT RAIL TRAINS

  • at :45 we dont have that o.0

  • we used to

  • 20 Victoria/Downtown

    3 Main/Downtown

    8 Fraser/Downtown

  • Guys, Bus #2915, Number 20 en-route to Downtown, on Fri, Aug. 28, the bus went RIGHT through a red light. And when we got up to the bus, the bus driver looked at us and honked.

I don't know if I'm supposed to report this or whatever, but it was very frightening for me to see a bus do this.

  • @ aproxx. 1:00PM

  • Bus 2915 is retired ages ago........perhaps you really meant bus #2515 (it's an articulated trolleybus)?

Please direct this complaint straight to Translink, this channel is not associated with Translink or any of its subsidaries. Translink customer service hotline is 604-953-3333.

    Dave

  • Well, for one I Know it was an articulated Trolleybus, and maybe it was 2519.

  • The day Vancouver Translink gets rid of trolleybuses,Canada will have no trolleybuses and this will mean all trolleybuses will get converted into Diesel.

I'm sorry but trolleybuses aren't needed.

  • for you guy they are needed so that way they can travel without killing the air we breathe in the only downside I see of these is when the POWER GOES OUT!!

  • trolleybuses suck, which ever TA has trolleybuses are garbage as well.

  • i think cars take up a lot of real estate!! buses do not period. unless they are empty ;-p

  • When you look at this type of bus, it takes up a lot of real estate. Double deckers would be a better solution for Vancouver if it weren't for telephone lines and wires.

  • Nice. didn't know the E60's were trollybuses

  • 3 MAIN

  • Do these buese have a engine?

  • No, trolly busses don't use engines. They just run on electricty provided by the overhead wires

  • at least youre alive and vancouver tranzlink rocks maby it was because the driver was new so dont blame tranzlink blame the driver! and love the new busses cant wait to get on the #20 to victoria!

  • aca en mendoza argentina trajeron trolebuses de canada

  • Translink are a bunch or morons... I almost was in 5 crashes riding these buses in the snow cuz they fishtail like crazy.... and why dont they get center driver?

  • Swiss cities have 2 and 3 section articulated trolleybusses, it snows lots, but they never have fishtail accidents; why is that??

  • Center drivers!

    Like a fire truck?

Bus drivers don't have flashing lights or sirens.

Since you were ALMOST in 5 crashes, maybe you need to look at the type of bus your on "TRANSLINK" and instead "thank that driver" for actually getting to your destination!

  • how's the a/c in those?

  • These buses are not equipped with A/C

  • that sucks andLOL it's so new!

  • That's what they do..........fares are always hiking up while service quality goes down :P

  • then how does the riders servive the heat?

  • the seats on the articulated part dont look very comfortable.

  • they're not seats they're for ppl to lean on

  • lundi 11 Novembre

  • i was almost ran over by one of these

  • Hey David, was 2501 dead heading across Vancouver on this trip?

  • in Montreal the Maire only think of putting back streetcars, its a good 40 years since the last streetcars run in the street of Montreal, before doing that first fix the problem with the bus that are late, full and the attitude of the bus drivers that make a face like you just puke on them, the bio diesel are just not a good idea, the trolley bus are interesting idea to put back but the streetcars is not good, where people will get out?, in the middle of the street and get hit by a car?

  • Look at the Electroline flexible overhead wires. This Swiss patent is widely used in the world. Why new Canadian trolleybuses must drive under such garbage overhead network I saw in Toronto, Hamilton, Edmonton and in Vancouver. This must be also upgraded in order to compete with noisy buses. We need to protect our health and the environment.

  • What is wrong with Ontario government? Why not building new trolleybus routes? If Venezuela can do, we can do too! Spending 700.000,00 on one hybrid bus that has higher polution in city driving than a regular bus does not make any sense. This is an european study. Why not to look overseas to see how they run their business. We can learn more there, rather than re-invent already invented!

  • what is behind the drivers seat?

  • that is big computer kind of system

  • oh ok, thanks

  • @S10man93 computers

  • BC's Trolley-Buses are cool...though were not gonna see any ETB's here in Maple Ridge cause of no Trolley lines. I've never seen a clean bus before, When ever iI get on a bus they are all dirty and the windows are scratched and grafity all over the windows.

  • But I love ridding them for the enjoyment. And knowing that NewFlyer is Candian that makes it better.

  • Bloody HSR and TTC had to go with Natural Gas buses only for them to find out that they were technological garbage. I would give my right arm to see one of those running on the Beeline in Hamilton or 6 Bay in Toronto..

  • actuallly vancouver is getting de60lfr's like hsr and also getting novabus hevs soon!

  • Toronto and Hamilton could have had this if they kept THEIR Trolley Buses!

  • its cool

  • philadelphia will be those but they will a 40 foot model thbey will come in around january of 2008

  • Philadelphia now has the trolleybuses again, but only on the 3 routes serving the North East. We will probably not see these longer articulated ones here- most likely because of the terminal not long enough to handle this size. The new ones are nice altho they did squeal when the brakes were applied. And the dreadful white color scheme! SEPTA needs to wise up and re think their paint scheme and also bring tb's back to South Philly!

  • The city of Chicago whick i live in have the New Flyer D40lf buses i like those models alot

  • Thanx for this great vid. As I'm sitting in my chair in front of my computer (here in Budapest, Hungary), and also travelling on this beautiful new trolleybus in the streets of Vancouver - really fascinating feeling.

  • how long is the coach in this vid - looks longer than 60-feet...

  • 60 feet but is a trolly

  • Thats not a trolley - its a trolley-bus or "ETB" as they are known - also can be called a trolley-coach - looks longer than 60 feet.....thats why I asked - but cool thats the same length as our artics here.

  • I can't find a video for a 80' - 90' bus but I know there on the road!?! (AUSTRALIA, ENGLAND)????

  • At the 215,302 & 416 timing the Operator ( who is not an operator, but from the training dept.) uses the rear door inter-lock ( Note green lite over rear door on right of vid ) to hold the bus in place during stop lights. Not a safe policy to practice, especially on You-Tube for all to see.

  • b line specialist !

Watch him walk back and change the poles in the future ?

  • The fact is though, most drivers use this practice while waiting at a light, however it should never be used while laying over without having the maxi-brake enabled as the rear door inter-lock eventually releases after a given period of time.

  • OMG. I used to live in Hamilton and I still remember when they scrapped the HSR Trolleys in '92, only to move back to Toronto and see the TTC's Trolleys scrapped too in '93 (tho they were using Edmonton's and the old NewFlyers had already been scrapped) :( . Bring them back!

  • Hope Edmonton Transit Get some of those !!

  • This bus is now in revenue service. More are on the way from Winterpeg.

  • hi , what a fabulous new trolleybus ! great livery too & it can carry loads of people who will go home happy that they are travelling in the most environmentally friendly vehicle of all .

  • i keep watching this video. thank you for posting this video

  • i love trolley buses

  • What would happen if these went off wire? If the trolleybus would make a wrong turn of wire what would happen?

  • Not much would happen. They are equipped with auxiliary batteries and can run short distances off the wire. The poles often come off on corners. The batteries allow the driver to pull over and put the poles back on the wire.

  • OK. I was just wondering because there would eventually be detours, like car accidents, along the route that the trolleybus travels.

  • Nice video...

  • hi , this is an excellent clip showing a brand new articulated trolleybus with a great new livery in Vancouver. It would look good on Cambie Street ( 15 ) if Translink would keep their promise made to restore the wiring after Canada line opens ..already budgeted for but they reneged on that and are now subjecting Cambie residents to noisy polluting diesel buses .

  • dude, u work in the bus company or what?

  • no , I am just a BIG trolleybus fan - have been for years and always will be ! cheers

  • no hes just a bus enthusiast but i do know someone who works for the company

  • Wow I never seen one of those before, didn't know New Flyer still made trolley buses. Over here (SF Muni) we have 1995 New Flyer E60s, do you have those buses up there? I like those seats they look comfortable unlike those hard plastic kinds. Are those seats in the middle articulated section? Looks like these buses have the touch here to open rather than step down to open.

  • We don't have E60s in Vancouver.........yes, those seats are acceptably comfortable. That's the "bum-bar" in the middle...........it's a new design to allow the passengers to "sit-standing"..........this allows the bus to carry more passengers.

  • Never rode on a trolleybus... many of them are hybrid, actually... at least the ones in Seattle are.

  • Older high floor buses should be rebuilt and kept in service 8 more years. Hf buses have higher capacity, they are great buses that should be rebuilt. You should show the stop transactions. He makes lot of stops. No one gets on or off. Probably want to wait till one of older buses come. love to see more vidios.

  • Your theory would work in third-world countries, but definitely not in the US and Canada. Safety issues are highly valued by transit authorities, and the expected average lifespan of transit buses in Canada are approximately 20 years - as buses get old, they have to go.......Not that I am biased against old buses - I love them, GM New Looks, old Flyers! Nobody gets on the bus is simply because we're doing maintenance testing, and it's not in service!

  • Thats great I take it your a transit big honcho thats great and uou make videos. In the Videos hopefully on you tube they will run forever. I realized after the video was over it was just testing.

  • As a person that matters with Vancouvers can"t you try to convince new flyer to resume making 40 foot and 60 foot articulated buses like the ones new york city transit bought. They anted a order and new flyer refused it. They are great buses with the right maintnance and rebuilds they could run 8 more years safely. The bus route roads should all be paved back top smooth. Bumps and potholes ruin vehicles.

  • I'm not a "honcho" as you've called me - I make videos and take photos during my free time. I am just expressing my personal thoughts based on reality and facts. It's unfortunate that the high-floor-production has been ceased by New Flyer - when the demand is not there, chances are they would invest their time and money into something that has a higher demand, such as their low-floor-models.

  • Love to see more videos. The new york city transit authority made a mistake not ordering a minumum of 100 60 foot articulated hf buses from new flyer in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007. They could of been used on the m6, m5, m42, m34, b44, b11. These are very busy routes. They should of ordered 100 hf buses a year from nova in 2002, 2003, 2004. They should of bought hf hybred buses from new flyer and had them develop them.

  • do you know which routes the articulated trolleys will be operating on?

  • Pretty much random, most likely the 3 Main
