Both FSX and X-plane work for me. But I have to say that X-plane has more "room" to fly in. But if your thinking about buying X-Plane, I would recommend waiting awhile. X-plane 10 is coming soon!

Every aspect is better than FSX with one exception: The plane models. It's a shame that I had to purchase a $30 Mitsubishi MU2 payware plane for x plane to actually make the plane detail appear "in the same league" as the FSX models. Other than that, X Plane 9 is superior.

if XP will address some of its silly limitations (max visibility only 25 miles, no airport buildings, useless, simple atc, weather engine, ugly urban textures, low quality default planes without virtual cockpit), then i will try the next release, xp 10 when it comes out nex year. i hope they will improve, because the game itself would be great..

Wow. I am an FSX user, and this was amazing. The planes look nicer in xplane, the terrain looks nicer, and the trees look much nicer. I like that dock thing, too. There's only one thing that I saw that I like better in FSX. The cruise ship. In xplane, it's all messed up with the pointy nose. I dunno. My opinion. I have Xplane demo on my mac. Very low framerate. Also, I can't seem to get the planes to accelerate. I'll try plugging my joystick in sometime. I haven't had time. Just got it week ago.

to make x plane this good you have to have an extremely good computer, and have to pay a lot of money for planes that are decent.

hi i read your around the world tour u did and it's amazing. i'm an fs2004 user with addons but i must say the graphics and environment do appeal to me. i bought one and am trying to learn how to use it. it's avery different learning curve

Go for it, it is a beautiful simulator, costs only 34.-USD and first of all has a future of development. Be prepared to learn a new software and to fly again. And go for the demo first, so you can see how your hardware performs...

i had since a while ago but hardly used it as i was finding it complicated compared to fs2004. HOWEVER i cant stop coming back to it and also watching your vids. it just makes me want to spend more time trying it. I'm kind of of a liitle bit fed up with fs2004 blurries... I wish Windows would continue their Flight Simulator legacy because I am quite sure that they I better plane models. But X-Plane has better scenery.
