It's up to the politicians now, slippery as they are, to thrash out some sort of agreement & I think despite my lack of respect for them, they've got the will to do that. These things take time. There's no point trying to rush it, I don't think that will work. Trying to rush things goes against the grain of society in the North too much, but if things are taken gradually I think it might all come together.

I'm not so sure about that, statistics show that the Unionist paramilitaries and British Army lost over 3000, whereas the Republicans lost almost 400. We could have kept on going, though with the full force of the British military we would have just been crushed by numbers.

If the IRA had won then the Unionists would have recruited thousands more and would have become like the IRA in reverse, with the Irish army acting as the British did.
