  • Great song, this takes me back to when i was 13, love it

  • Kip Winger and his band rock. Wish

YouTube would stop putting videos on site 1 week, then removing them the next. Last'week I had "Seventeen", now it has been remove by the owner or YouTube.

  • YouTube has removed lots of videos I like lately ... I think it's really sad. They don't show these kind o vids today on the so called "music" television (MTV) and every record label removes the vids ... How are we gonna watch the old great videos? Not every band releases DVD compilations with all their vids.

  • hey wacke666...you got that exactly right.

don't know your age, but I've been involved with rock music since the early 70's, and have been in the radio business as a dj for over 28 years now.

Todays music is not music...it's crap.

the 70s and 80s were the best. feel free to visit my favorites and take a look around. keep rocking brother or sister!

    garyraybuckner, age 57.

  • im 42 and i agree with ya gary..... today they don't even have music. It is all beeen done and over with. it is all copy cat crap with bad talent. And wasn't MTV used to stand for MUSIC TELIVISION? I remember when i first got cable in 1980; they actualy played videos all day long ... wow.

  • hey belcherman...got yer note...I am 57, actually 17 with 40 years experience...I

have been a dj for the last 28 years in commercial fm radio, my first few jobs were doing overnights for the fm aor rock station here in tallahassee, fl...those were the days....nowadays its rap, hip hop, pop, chicken rock and just plain underproduced garbage. Let's see where all these current groups are 5 years down the road.

  • I often wonder why some people out there want to pretend this genre of music never happend. I long for those days. It was really an awesome time to be alive. Maybe it was the image. Just LISTEN to the music. The worst band of this genre still had more talent than most do today.

  • True. I thought Nitro were a pretty bad band (or at least annoying like Pretty Boy Floyd) but even they had more talent than bands like Fall Out Blimp, My Chemical Nochance and 30 Seconds to Nowhere.

Who were the worst pop metal band anyway? Wrathchild? Pretty Boy Floyd? Britney Fox?

Kick Axe were pretty corny. ;)

  • they know how to make a show off with their guitars hehe , love it

  • They are so g a y

  • BLAH,BLAH,BLAH.....everyone's an expert. all these in depth poindexter, examinations. this guitarist this and that band that....BLAH BLAH BLAH....lets really get down to the truth here! you're all a bunch of worthless fuck'n lemmings

  • Winger kicked so much ass it's ridiculous.

  • those legs..the hair...ahhh..bring back the 80;s..don;t make them like this anymore

  • Though we might hold Winger responsible for the fall of Metal in the late 1980's, Reb Beach is a bad ass guitar player.

  • What?..How is he responsible?

  • Glam Hair Bands like Winger made 1980's Metal disingenuous. The members of these bands became these glitter and hairspray encrusted Gods that lost their connection to their core fan base. As they became more wealthy, their music lost its' edge, integrity and they ultimately alienated their fans. Winger alone isn't responsible, but they are the poster child of the type of Glam Metal band that destroyed metal and made it possible for bands like Nirvana to fill the void.

  • Kip Winger is the quintessential antithesis to the kind of Musician you are Talking about .He is a great Good Looking Manly-Man ..without all the chicken-plucking that goes on today.I have looked over about 300 images today and I haven't found one that fits your description.

  • Don't get me wrong, guitar players like Reb Beach and Warren DeMartini are outstanding guitar players. I would also guess that the bands themselves probably weren't happy with the Glam image and got tired of the Record Company dictating artistic direction of the music. You could tell from the skill of the guitarists, drummers and vocalists of the Glam bands that they were better musicians than some of the music they put out. For Example, every band put out a Power Ballad.

  • DestructZero: You must be out of your fucking mind!! Listen to this fucking song. Where do you here music and musicians like this today? Marylin Manson? You simply don't. No more amazing guitar playing, incredible solos, variations in voice pitch. To make it short - MUSIC!!!!!

Any 3 year old can make today's (considered) music. All they have to do is sit down with an instrument and just beat the shit out of it. Simple as that. No rythm or beat. Just simple pounding.

    Long live the 80's!!!!!!

  • Did you even read my statement!! I'm not taking anything away from Reb Beach and other underated guitar players. I actually lived those days and remember 1980's Metal from beginning to the end in the early 1990's. At the end glam Metal DID get over the top! Also, if you think making an album like Nevermind by Nirvana is so easy, why don't YOU fucking do it!!!

  • As a matter of fact i could. Nirvana is one of the the bands who's music you make an album a month. Now, when talking the likes of Alice in Chains. That's a slightly different story. But only where the lyrics are concered. Musically, their style is really not that difficult to "copy".

I have to agree with one thing, glam metal did kind get out of hand in the 90's. On that part i appoligize for my mistake.

  • This is subjective, your opinion's subjective. And it sure as heck ain't God. Your dislike of this music doesn't justify you to shove your common opinion down everyone else's throat. You're not the only one who lived it, not by a longshot. As in matter a fact your conclusion takes all your credit away instantly. These opinion based battles have been fought one too many times. Stick with what you like.

  • I didn't say I disliked this video or even this song. If you bothered to even read my statements I was just commenting on the glitz of 1980's Metal! I like the early Glam Metal stuff like Motley Crues first album or High'nDry by Def Leppard. Some of the stuff I pointed out about Glam Metal was not my opinion, but stuff I read in Rolling Stone! I think the Glam Metal bands (at least near the end of the 1980's) were compelled to fit a certain image prototype at the time by the record companies.

  • Media talk, you taking an opinion from Rolling Stone proves my point. No need to comment any further.

  • Media talk? You mean the Rock Journalists and critics that pretty much set the tone for the recording industry? I will grant you that the critics are far from perfect, the most obvious mistake was Led Zeppelin. The critics hated Led Zeppelin, but the recording industry does pay attention to Rolling Stone and other similar publications. Rolling Stone articulated my feelings about Glam Metal in the late 1980's. The same thing happened with Alternative. Alternative became whiney as you put it.

  • The media's manipulated, it's business. Gimmicks catering to different audiences are stratetically made up to cash in over timeline. Sure Metal suffered from it in the 80's but the key thing is most was good music as opposed to what we got afterwards. I wouldn't exactly call Grunge definition greatness even though opinions may vary. Rolling Stone's just a vehicle to translate the media outlets. They name a past style uncool while promoting their new gun. Learn it, it's all biased. :)

  • If my being a muscian and actually able to read music doesn't mean anything, then your studies mean even less. If you are not "studying" the music, what the are you studying? You don't have to have a PhD in music theory to enjoy music, all I was saying is that being able to read/play the music gives you an extra insight into a Bands music. Maybe due to the character limitation on YouTube I'm not clearly making my point. I am not the ultimate authority on Glam Metal just sharing my insight.

  • Ignorance is bliss, Pop Metal is a style on its own. The bands make the music because they like it, the bands look the way they do because they like it, the audience buys into the bands because they like it. Every genre has its posers but they don't represent it. The image is top notch coolness as opposed to lets say your whining Grunge piggies in the mud.

  • Pop Metal is the best and most popular form of Rock music ever, fact. Taste is subjective but there's no denying of quality good music. Its core fanbase represents this. A departure in sound and image is irrelevant because it's always been the best of Hard Rock. As things pushed to the limit Grunge was used to end the Rock era and please another audience.

  • What the fuck do you know. Your profile says your 23 years old which means you were born in 1986. You will still shitting your diapers when this music was out. After Glam Metal reached its limit people got tired of the substanceless posing and wanted something more genuine. I like the early Glam Metal. Unfortunately, it got to ridiculous by the end of the 1980's. Your "ignorance is bliss" statement is certainly true about the music of your generation.

  • Failed, I'm not even gonna argue this as it makes no sense or whatsoever. You have a bad attitude, fix it.

Your statement is typical 00's pop culture talk. And that, my friend I've seen far too many. Glam Metal's as genuine as your pot smoking disposal.

Age is irrelevant, FYI I'm well studied into this thing and have an all about knowledge meaning you can't win and get desperate. Hit me back when you reach some valuable arguments which is more than likely never. XD

  • Your "Studied"! What the hell does that mean?! You hang out at the local Rasputin's and talk with the cashier? I'm actually a muscian and play the guitar. I've enjoyed this music by listening to it and learning how to play it. I might not be a professional guitar player, but at least I get that extra insight in a Band by trying to play their songs and understanding how their songs are constructed. Seeing a band live in their prime is a different experience than listening to thier album.

  • Once again irrelevant. My conclusion's based on both recorded music and live concert experience. What you're trying to insinuate is that this genre can't have any younger fans due to your opinion being God. You being a guitar player says nothing at all. You're just another nobody here.

  • I never said my opinion is anymore valid than anybody else's. I pointed out that since you were an infant when these bands were in their prime, you don't see the whole picture. I'm glad your a Metal fan. We need more Metal fans and less pop teen idol fans. I'm a Led Zeppelin fan. Zeppelin broke up when I was little kid; so I collected several of thier bootlegs and discovered that hearing Zeppelin live in their prime was a different experience than hearing just the studio albums.

  • Fact is you're trying to devaluate my statement with age difference. Won't do you any good, archive footage covers it well enough to form a relevant opinion. I've read into this thing numerous times over the years and don't agree. There's good and bad in everything but don't condemn an entire genre. Pop Metal ruled in the late 1980's meaning some of the best songs in the genre were produced during that period. However to each their own, it's just not factual. We share a genre interest indeed.

  • I agree about the pop metal thing.

Everything you could want in music is in this sub-genre of metal: groove, catchy vocal melodies, kick-ass solos, cool pick-up lines and a thankful lack of political content that tends to divide audiences (i.e. lyrics that get straight to the core of living life regardless of background).

  • favorited.....

  • awesome song, embarrassing video

  • this song makes me think of high school!

  • Damn right dude!

  • Awesome song from an awesome generation of music!!!!!!!
