  • ROB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this book had a lot more meat at concord pavillion, could someone please post.

  • man people don't write books like this anymore.......its sad

  • not true. bret kuhn is the only one. all of the other writers are now over the hill now. their brains dont tick like this anymore

  • im pretty sure scott johnson still writes books like this...considering scott johnson wrote this book. :)

  • yeah but the new BD books are nothing like this. This stuff is wayyyyyyyy better

  • @leighburnette Dave Glyde wrote this book. That said, he still writes for the Devs, so your point is still valid. I have to agree, though, that the current stuff just isn't as good.

  • @leighburnette scott doesnt write the book, never has, its dave glyde

  • THIS IS CARIBE??

  • IT IS!!!!! I've got the 10r break music!!! My ears perked up as soon as i heard it!

  • can you send it to me?

  • o mah gosh, can you please send me that music? I would be forever indebted to you...or we could trade something.

  • @laxgoalie1231

If y'all are still looking for the "10r" ( that is so cool trainobl :) ) music, google search "sheet music portal" and you should come across a website someone put up on "geocities". You'll find it at the bottom of the page. The website is only operable at certain times of the day though...

  • @secondhandsamson124

haha, thanks, I found that a while ago :-D

  • yes. the one and only...

  • i have most of the snare part transcribed except for the split part @0:53. just look try to look at 3 snares to see it. this split also made the finals vid....nice

  • oops i mean bass drums... although the quick snare/cowbell is also cool... jus quick

  • that cowbell quad mixed with snare rhythm is ill!!

  • i recognize that school... its in no. cali right?

i think i was there with f***in california knights

  • Man, Scott Johnson's writing is just the sickest in DCI. That Blue Devils book is so freakin hip every year, it makes almost everybody else sound dull and pedestrian.

Some of it sounds almost physically impossible, but they do it. Boy do they do it...!

  • DAVE GLYDE WRITES the music Scott Johnson makes it clean and trust me he does iv'e been around and marched Blue Devils since 1987-1997 and he get's shit clean

  • Thanks for setting me straight! :)

Compliments to both (and the rest of BD's super staff).

By the way, this brings up the question of the BD drumline's visual stuff (by which I mean mainly the drum technique visuals, rather than choreography), which is always beautifully done: I'm assuming that's pretty much Scott's department, yes?

  • yes thats right

  • i love this year....!!!!!!

  • Do the snares seem really high to anyone?

  • That's because of lot the guys on the snare were short that year compared to Roger Carter, therefore it's relatively high...In 1996, it's different story.

  • i have this segment on dvd thanks to the videographer.

  • this is easily #1 on my top ten list of favorite tenor solos
