  • @maskmaker11. Do you think god would just say "let's not support those soldiers since they defend their home land"? They are defending us so we can be free like we are. I really hate it when people dishonor the military. It shows pure stupidity. They defend you so you can complain about them. Kinda sounds like the ultimate sacrifice to me. I come from a family that is a very big part of the church but also a very big part of the military. Every male in the family, including uncles and some cous

  • lovely but military personnel being nice to children though sweet, is a veil for the fact that they kill innocent people children included. War never produces peace or unity. Love one another and do not support military occupations. God Bless all beings.

  • @maskmaker11 you need to read the Bible if you would like to know what God thinks about war and soldiers. then you will need to amend your comments if you believe the Word. Read the Old Testament and see how God used war and armies to exert His will. And read what Jesus said about the soldiers and war and read what Paul and others said as well: Mk. 13:7-8, Lk. 3:14, Acts 10:1-6, Matt. 8:5-10.

  • @maskmaker11

If you had an actual clue as to what goes on over there - not just what CNN & MSNBC tell you to think - you may feel differently.

I've spent years working internationally in hostile environments - and what actually goes on "over there" bears little resemblance to what is shown on the news.

  • @maskmaker11

While it is true that our military kills people in the process of outright war or just policing another country, the fact is that far fewer people die when we are there. And a far greater percentage of those that would die in our absence are innocents. Our military has stabilized the Middle East, SE Europe, Africa, and S. America - saving hundreds of thousands - if not millions - of innocent lives.

  • @maskmaker11

Now, TBH - I don't think we need to be the world's police force. I don't think we need to be the UN's muscle.

But, at least get your facts straight. A LOT more people live when we are around that would die if we weren't there.

And we have brought peace (at least temporarily a much more peaceful environment) to areas that haven't known peace for over 1000 years.

  • i always sing this at church <3

  • We will be known for how we love one another. We're not known for doctrine, denominational distinctions, being right, or going to church. We are called to love and it's the greatest commandment according to Jesus :)

  • Not as close to God as I should be but this song makes me feel INCREDIBLE. Can't help but tear up everytime

  • At worship I can NEVER get through this song. I get so full of emotion!!

  • anyone who isnt a follower of christ would probably become one if they heard my home congregation sing this

  • @TheScarswell1 I said the exact thing at church today to my mom. Very powerful. Very awesome.

  • -3 i will keep this in my heart forever ;)

  • Tears!! I have always loved this.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! It was stuck in my head from church yesterday lol

  • God, you are amazing. Let your radiance pierce our souls an inspire us to change our corrupt ways. Despite these difficult times we realize you had never left or forsaken us or our families. How beautiful you are to give us the mind to plead to you for grace and the conviction to practice righteousness. Lord, please strengthen us in your love that our bond will be made perfect like it once was. Purify us as precious metals, do not spare any of us, but protect us. Bring us all home... with love -

  • that was very nice singing i really enjoyed it

  • I lovee this song so much

  • amen.

  • Great tune. Well done. Thank you for sharing it. Brings back memories. Also, I believe the Song is based on 1John 4:7-8.

  • Beautiful Song and Pictures. Thanks so much for putting it together! Typing error on the scripture : John 13:34, not John 8:34. which reads "Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin" Good verse ....just doesn't go with the song. :)

  • Magnificent. Thank you so much for posting.

  • great video. Amazing audio. I love this song

do not just hear or sing this song live it

live all the songs you sing

I know sometimes the words just flow

  • This song was sung at the funeral of dear friend of mine. His life was a shining beacon of Christ like love while this song was sung I cried my heart out just completely overcome with joy, pain, fear and grief. Sean we will see you again soon brother.

  • my church does sing this and it sounds amazon

  • My church sings it more slowly. . . to great effect. . . it allows the full effect to take effect! Not to say that this isn't beautiful!

  • This is amazing! This is my favorite song, but we dont sing it nearly enough. T_T

  • i wish the people im my church could sing this....i've sang it before and this song is beautiful if sung right

  • i've seen videos of people beheading one another and gang violence and went to sleep that night having lost all faith in humanity..i felt lightheaded and sick to see the degree of grotesque that humans can achieve. i realize that videos like that get my strongest reaction because the whole point of life is to love one another, and those videos went against it 100 percent. i’m glad to see that videos exist somewhere that show the opposite, the true reason for life.

  • @MusicPlaylistEmail i relate to you, and what you just said completely.

  • I love this song. It's a favorite for our congrgation to sing.

  • LOVE has teh power to do all things..knows all things.. believes all things... FOR THE GOOD! Thank you I LOVE YOU.

  • I John 4:7-8

  • 1 John 4:7

Singing this with the saints is a blessing and brings tears and chills every time.

  • This song is beautiful, a personal favorite. But I must say, out on no disrespect to anyone, rather out of love to everyone: why are we arguing about the song when the verse John 8:34 has been misquoted? In the NIV version, it reads, "Jesue replied, 'I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.'" I believe what they were trying to quote is either Matthew 22:37-40, or 1 Corinthians 13:13. This song is sang beautifully and helps remind us that we must love eachother as Jesus loved us

  • It's John 13:34-35. Beautiful song and one of my favorites from when I was a student at Abilene Christian University :)

  • @sweetTEA1980

    I go to ACU!!!!

  • this song is WAY to fast

  • this is to fast your supposed to sing it slower

  • Actually tempo is a matter of preference.

To is the wrong word for your sentence.

Too is the word you're looking for.

Too means more than enough; noting excess, as in too much speed.

To is a particle used to mark the following verb as an infinitive.

  • Here are some examples of its proper usage: To err is human. It is okay to sing this at a higher tempo. He likes to tell people what to do. He wants his opinion to be law. They know how to sing it, and don't need advice. To be, or not to be: that is the question. I have places to go and people to see...

  • we sang this at camp

  • mee too wat camp you go to??

  • I have been trying to post this for an hour. Bad storms, sorry wrex2468.

I googled it and you can purchase printable sheet music from several sites. sheetmusic, com being one of them. No free sites that I could find.

Our hymnal is Songs of the Church 21st Century Edition if you're interested in getting your hands on one.

Good luck with your search :)

  • Songs like these are one of the few things I miss about FC. I wonder if there are music sheets for this online. If I can only convince my small group to sing A Capella for once.

  • It is in our hymnal. We are Church of Christ and sing only with the instrument God gave us, He knows whether we can "carry a tune in abucket" or not and doesn't care. We are all beautifully made.

  • I'm well aware of the CoC's hermeneutics; I grew up in one after all.

What I'm wondering though, if there are any printable online postings of this song that I could hand out to my group.

  • By the way, I completely agree with your sentiment. How well one carries a tune doesn't reflect their heart. =)

  • Didn't mean to sound assumtive (is that a word !). I have just noticed that alot of a capella church groups posted on youtube are often told "it would sound better if...".

If you can hang on a minute, I'll see if I can't find an answer to your question.

  • I've had FC reunion tape presented to me by Bob Bennett. I absolutely love FC Alumni Chorus. Thank you, thank you, thank you, and God bless you!

  • I just spent 30 minutes searching for this song because I could only remember the soprano part. I absolutely love this song. Thank you for having it!

  • really pretty i keep replaying this song over and over it is soooo pretty

  • I love this song also... the alto part is higher than I'm used to but I still adore it!!

  • where might i find the music and lyrics to this beautiful song

  • When I was Christian I was raised in Church of Chirst this was my favorite song and always will so pretty!

  • I totally agree that the atheists need to sit up and take notice. we sing this at our church and the harmonizing is absolutely awesome. It really makes you think how great our wonderful GOD is.

  • I agree too but, God also gave us all free will. Yes, we are to help others into our beliefs but not force. But us who do believe have the greatest thing in the world alone... ETERNAL UNENDING LOVE! you cant have anything better.

  • If there was music with it, it would totally take away the meaning

  • i agree

  • i wish some of the atheists on here who harass us for our beliefs would just sit down and look at all the people of this country and see that they are, in fact, minority. They need to see that there are too many people that believe in an all-powerful, all-knowing, all-seeing God for it to be false.

I love this song btw. ^_^

  • i hate to play the logical fallacy police, but i've got to say something. only morons will use an appeal to popularity to try and make an argument. it is completely irrelevant how many people believe something; it doesn't make it true. at one point in time, a majority of people also believed the world is flat, the earth is the center of the universe, and that slavery is morally acceptable.

  • so, let me get something straight here...

i left a comment, probably sometime in August or September, to the person that submitted this video, leaving postive feedback and reinforcement. and you took 5-10 minutes to click on this video and, i'm assuming, watch it, then you come back and bash me on my comment to "luvtoffe", when in fact i don't really care to know. i didn't comment to initiate a debate. if you didn't like what i said, tough shit. go somewhere else.

    you swing, i swing.

  • Such a great song! LOVE IT!

  • This song is taken directly from scripture in the Holy Bible. I JOHN 4:7 "Let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God."

This song is sung @ my church while we are all gathered around in a BIG group hug!

PRAISE GOD who is our model for Love!

  • love love love this song!

  • amen

  • ohh ily god and this song....but wat is the lyics 4 the saprano...or w/e....thx

  • love one another, for love is of god

he who loves is born of god and knows god

he who does not love does not know god

for god is love, god is love

  • thats the alto part the soprano part is love the lord thy god with all thy heart with all thy soul all thy strength all thy mind love the lord thy god with all thy heart for god is love god is love god is love at least thats the way i learned it
  • Same here, and it's the way it's song on the video, the thing that threw me is that the alto part on this version is set higher than I'm used to hearing, possibly a by product of the choir having a higher vocal range, it's almost as though the altos are singing soprano and the sopranos are providing a descant on top, very pretty as it's worked

Beautiful rendition guys, keep up the good work for Him and God Bless you all

  • I agree, it is beautiful. :) This song has always been a fav of mine!

  • me too

  • I know one song book I have seen has the key set in A and another songbook I have seen with this song in it has it in the key of C... this may be the difference you see here... or may even be higher, I do not have perfect pitch, so I cannot tell what key they are singing in.

  • Beautiful song/video. Yes indeed, God is love.

  • Love this song...

  • Jesus is lord
