They do have a mild neurotoxin in their mouth. At any point I wouldn't put it past the Komodo dragon to've attacked people, the victims probably never made it out of the jungle and got eaten, or hid up a tree and died from the infection

i was thinking exactly the same thing. thank god at least, their big brothers do not exist no more. Komodo dragons are dangerous but they deserve the right to be what they are. Like anti-venom which is very effective and expensive. Maybe they maybe a link to an antidote of no other.

my great uncle was on a military base on i think saipan? during wwII and a komodo was headed straight for him while he was on a ground-mounted machine gun and tore that lizards shit UP

he had the hide for a while but sold it before the war ended haha
