look man, i am in love with the inline 6 twin turbo engine.. i think its perfect.. and to me nothing is more fun than hitting up a back road with an awd car.... but if you live in a city (ex: NYC) you are not going to care about ow fast your car is or how it handles.. because trust me, you're never going to reach the top speed.. what you ARE going to be doing is, sitting in traffic and looking for parking spots.. and thats where a small bmw would come in.. its small but luxurious..

BMW has not until this point....that is my point. Audi also kept that down until the last few years. Now these premium brands are dumbing down their line-ups for markets share; competing with them selves! That is the big car company downfall.
My first car was a `79 Audi 5000s. Under the hood was a five cylinder engine with a VW logo stamped on the valve cover. Mind you the Audi 5000 from that era and the VW Quantum were damn near the same car. Also even if BMW does make this car, there is no guarantee it will make it stateside. They had no intention of selling the 1-series over here until enthusiasts hounded them for it. Benz won't bring the A-class over here because...well...look at it.
And that 5000s was the cause of Audi's downfall in that decade, if you recall its unintended acceleration problems? That car WAS what made Audi revamp what they do, period! Now, they are going backwards again, just like BMW is just starting to do.....
@Colleptic You're incorrrect. The `79 Audi 5000 belonged to the C2 generation. It was the C3 (1982-1992) Audi 5000 that had the acceleration problems....which didn't share platforms with VW...and the acceleration issues were found to be due to user error.
Ummm the C3 is a VW platform....it was on the "Audi 5000 in US 1983-1988, Audi 100 thereafter".
Who cares about what they found out in the end, it was the fact it was tied to lesser products and dropped their sales. That is what made Audi re-vamp and make the cars far more separated, even if only through marketing. They made themselves more a separate brand etc., which they have now lost again and BMW is also, for some reason now doing.....
The only reason Sony would release another GT5 trailer is; so that, they don't have as many pissed off fans. When they announce that GT5 will be delayed for yet another year for the 4th straight year.
what is with all these "luxury" brands coming out with econoboxes. I think it cheapens the brand when BMW and Audi are trying to steal sales from Kia and Hyundai. At least Porsche has the sense to make cars that hold on to their brands values. I would laugh if the xB and Accent get rated as better cars than the "luxury" econoboxes.
Even though everyone knows the current mini is built by BMW, some BMW owners and fans might be more likely to buy one if it's badged as a Beamer, especially if it has plusher options than the mini.

what is with all these "luxury" brands coming out with econoboxes. I think it cheapens the brand when BMW and Audi are trying to steal sales from Kia and Hyundai. At least Porsche has the sense to make cars that hold on to their brands values. I would laugh if the xB and Accent get rated as better cars than the "luxury" econoboxes.

I don't think they're "poaching sales".
Even though everyone knows the current mini is built by BMW, some BMW owners and fans might be more likely to buy one if it's badged as a Beamer, especially if it has plusher options than the mini.
It's like Toyota and Lexus: most Lexus models are more or less rebadged Toyotas, but the Lexus brand has more "prestige" (personally, I don't understand how a brand younger than I am can have any whatsoever), so it's marketed to a different demographic.

The BMW like the A1 won't sell that well because other brands that arn't so prestige have specialised in small cars for decades now. Anyone in the market for a small car are not going to pay silly amounts over a VW Polo for instance.

RWD and 4WD, maybe, but not FWD (some even call it "wrong-wheel drive"). I'm sorry... I can't fathom it. Sounds like a nice rainbow of Audis! Cool. Edo Competition is plenty awesome for the only proper sports car in this video. I'm a huge Gran Turismo fan, and this was an awesome trailer. Oh, I saw "JohnMarineTube" in the shout out. Thanks! i would skip it. i think the only reason BMW is going to make a smaller car because audi and Mercedes are doing it and they are just trying to show that they will not be left behind. i think its also pulling away from the point of having a beamer, the clean look and the HP really get your blood pumping
