I'm not sure who the guy is who sings this very subdued version, but it was once used in New Zealand in a TV campaign to stop the annual fataities on our roads. The song played to the accompanyment of showing family photos with people disappearing from them as they became victims of the road carnage. Quite effective, but the carnage continues every year.

The areas that were hardest hit had no kind of warning system, and were remote enough that most people probably never knew what was happening. These people might be "fucking stupid" if they actually had a clue about warning signs of a tsunami. And in many places, people weren't even given the luxury of warning signs. It happened so incredibly fast.
