My personal fave will always be the PS1 He's Back game because the music is epic and it's the most challenging game I ever played. I believe its the last good Frogger game to come out the newer ones not too much.

i didnt actualy care about the crazy traffic patterns, or the strange rivers, or even about the size of frogger himself .... i just enjoyed the game and took on the challenge,

i think my favourite is the PC version with somthing like 12 different zones ... thats a real challenge

I have never played a Atari gaming system. This game really needs to be on the American PSN or a PS3 arcade compilation disc. Great review. I have played the Sega port of this game and it is tons of fun.

The Sega port is more of an emulated version as it is exactly the same as the original arcade game in every way.

I think the current isn't that implausible, I mean the turtles can swim against the current or with it, and so can the Crocs. Come to think of it the logs aren't going in both directions, but the traffic I'm still drawing a blank.

Frogs can't breath under water can they?, maybe the current is too fast for his little froggy legs to handle. Humans can swim but they can still drown, or maybe they thought "well, he could still get hit and be killed by logs anyway or crocs, or take your pick"

I have frogger for the 5200 and it's neat how you can control the frog with either the stick or using the buttons kinda like arrow keys on a pc.

Way to make me feel old lol. I grew up on NES/SNES. I never really played much ps1, but i am getting more now to try them out on my ps2. Ya the 5200 is huge in size. The controller hurts my hands to push the buttons on the side. GO GAMES!

Frogger is great. I have the new Frogger series for the PS1. Part 1 and 2. I still like the original arcade game much better. This port appears to be pretty different looking in most parts.

By remakeing all old Sega games but make the graphics better and keep the game play same Ex.(Don't make a 2D action scroller like Contra a 3D game like they have) Make it the same game play but better graphics just like Bionic Commando Rearmed for Xbox live that game is awsome personlly I still like playing the origanal But that would be awsome if they did that with Sega.

Amen to that! I haven't even really thought about buying any of the new consoles, since none of the games appeal to me. The Wii has the VC and everything, but why pay like 10 bucks for a SNES game when you could probably buy 2-3 actual SNES cartridges for about the same price? Besides, nothing beats playing on the real hardware!

I fully agree. There is a particular feel and tiny details you can't replicate with any emulator. The original hardware is the only way to get the real, authentic feel. A Wii Remote or any other Wii peripheral cannot replicate the feel of an Atari 2600 stick or a tiny rectangular NES controller. And an NES or Atari game is also fully enjoyed on a mono-sound analog tv, not a computer monitor or flat-screen digital stereo tv.

Yeah and they could make frogger into a different character like they did Casper. Instead of a freindly ghost he went bad, and instead of a gunpointed mutant frog forced to cross the road he could be able to turn around and blow up the gun-pointer along with the highway he was forced to cross. lol

But, yeah, Frogger 2 THREEEDEEP (notice the three e's--that's not a typo. It was to indicate Three new screens) was released on both 2600 and 5200 systems, as well as the C64 and a lot of other Atari 8-bit systems. Apple II, Colevisionsion, and PC. It was an OK game, but, didn't have the same luster as the original. But, i played the hell out of it as a kid.

Nice achievement Mark! I have frogger for my SNES and when I do pull out Frogger, it does hold my attention for quite some time. Unfortunately, my current controllers have some crappy D-pads and they dont' respond so well, just gotta press hard, and I know that D-pads aren't your favorite..unless there's a "Sega" logo nearby. All-in-all fun review, keep at 'em. Glad to see some work put in for Labor Day.
