Your kidding right, you need to think more on turn based games than on real time games, bad moves is not as forgiving on turn based games compared to real time ones.
Do you consider chess a game for slow brains? If you do, please contemplate the fact you have to calculate at least 30 moves ahead if you want to be good at it.

So, stop comparing them, each one has its own difficulty. Sure, it doesn't require you to burn keyboards with 300 apm (been there done that) but they do put your brain to the test.
