  • Many thanks for this trilogy. The Redskins were an NFL power throughout the 1940's,and because of this its easy to see why. They had a stable of excellent RB's. Andy Farkas,Dick Todd(later their Head Coach),Wilbur Moore,Steve Bagarus,Eddie Saenz,Bob Nuubaumer, and Sal "the tank" Rosato. Not to mention HOF end Wayne Millner, and one who should be Hugh 'bones " Taylor. These men are largely forgotten today but all were exceptional players who complimented the Superb Mr. Baugh. Awesome UL indeed!

  • @deeniemarie7 Correction:Bob Nussbaumer.

  • Did you see that station wagon? Sammy wrecked it on the way home. True story.

  • slingin sammy had a phenomenal year in 47. He set NFL records for attempts, completions and yards. Lead the league with 25 touchdown passes in 12 games! Unfortunately the redskins defense was in decline by then and they finished 4-8.

It's great seeing this footage. Thanks for posting.

  • Looks like the Redskins were good in 1947 because the sucked in the 1950's.
