@Kartracer6 Quebec, Canada. POVs in Quebec and Ontario and some states (like volunteer EMS in New York) use green. Green is also incident command, but people can generally differentiate between a big red command post/rescue unit and someones POV...although it was discussed by governement officials as being confusing at one point.
@Phyrphyter03 here in illinois. at least in this area of illinois. We use Green for both incident command and for Public aid such as Red cross, FEMA, and sometimes the fire marshall shows up in green. I've never fully understood the point of color coating things so strictly because the average person usually isn't going to know these colors and I never tend to find my self trying to identify vehicles by their light color (maybe I should). So do people pull to the side for a green light?
Here in the UK, volunteer firefighters/EMTs/lifeboat crew aren't allowed anything on their private cars! Doctors on call get green courtesy lights and regular emergency vehicles get blue, but ambulance volunteer community responders, on-call volunteer firefighters and lifeboat crew members aren't allowed any kind of lights when they're getting called out to an emergency. Sucks :(
@Phyrphyter03 Also, just looking around youtube, I see many people use green LEDs from Speed Tech Lighting, they look like there would work well too... just for your information from one responder to another. Stay Safe!
For the most part, yeah. They are brighter in real life than on the video. If people don't notice I usually give a couple short blasts of the Whelen airhorn to make them look in their mirror.
No, they get a 'Vehicle Recognition' sticker that shows that it's a privately owned emergency vehicle. They have to get them inspected every year too.
Depuis quand le vert est autorisé au Québec??? Surtout dans quel coin... J'en ai encore jamais croisé il faut dire.

Quebec, Canada. Only chiefs can run red with sirens, if they register their vehicle as an emergency vehicle.
Phyrphyter03 3 years ago
yeah but if they register it as emergency vehicle doesn't the country/province(where I live county owns FD so I dont know) have ownership?
