  • "... oh yes I will ... "

Ron played gd good harmonica too !

  • Thanks for sharing this. I lost my copy of this DVD in the divorce......hahaha!!. I love the scenes with Jerry and a VERY young Bobby, with Janis and an incredibly ,tripping balls Ricky Danko from the Band........lmfao Priceless and such an amazingly wonderful moment in time. "NO more Cane!" LOL

  • wicked Dead cuts thanks!!!

  • "No copyright infringement intended". What rubbish. It's like parking in a no parking zone and leaving hazard warning lights on.

  • it looks like it was filmed by the same folks that made the Woodstock film.??

  • Really Awesome, Love The Pig!!!

  • A rare Bobbie Weir lead 3:20- 350

  • @MickeyYahoo I used to think that too but I think it's actually Phil Lesh's bass

  • Thanks uploader, what a gem. Even though the GD had many great years after his passing, Pigpen added a whole other dimension when he was in the band. His keyboard contributions were easily replaced but he was such an authentically good blues and R&B singer. What shame. His penchant for cheap sweet wine was the worst possible thing for his condition. RIP Pig.

  • Only Tom Constanten is still alive. He was with them for a year and a 1/2.

  • What a great Jerry solo on this tune-make me smile Jerry !

  • Pigpen was my favorite before Jerry or Bobby.

All the Grateful Dead's keyboard players died, did they not? Dangerous job!

  • @grannygear,

Their best guitar player died too :/

Life is dangerous all over ... but can't just quit !

So might as well enjoy ;P

  • @grannygear not all of the keyboardists died, Tom Constanten is alive and well and i just saw him a month or so ago playing with some friends o mine.

  • Pigpen looks like he's at deaths door, he looks compleatly different from the fat hippy he was in 60's

  • @villiparis Did he lose all that weight from his illness?

  • @fubsie2 more than likely

  • Who knows where the Dead would have gone if Pigpen would have stayed alive.

  • I think that 'there's a whole lot of women on the streets in red today ' is in reference to women wearing red clothing. wow man farout

  • @kc12112 I think its a reference to the whore of babylon being draped in red.

  • Pig was one of the few "blues souls" that spiral around our material world for a few year's and bless us with his (chi )

  • i think that the river keep a talkin is a reference to the river in Herman Hesse's Siddhartha

  • magic.......

  • real music

  • I was there. Am pretty sure than I'm one of the girls dancing! :)

  • @maggie695 I love that you know you were there but can't remember if you are actually one of the girls dancing. I understand that statement and that makes me know you were one of the girls. I feel it. :) Dance on sister!

  • @maggie695 That's awesome! Wow...you got to experience a great piece of history!!!

  • Winnipeg Fairgrounds 1970-7-1 (Wednesday) Manitoba, Canada

    Augy San Diego

  • Can you imagine Pig Pen and Janis getting it on man!? I bet they was screamin and shit was breaking and dope was smoking and tequila bottles was flyin! Holy shit man!

  • @magprob I think that is why pig drank himself to death. He was a blues man.....right..The dead were going places he could not hang . He hated drugs but loved the drink.

  • "I'll live five years if I take my time..." evidently he did not take his time. In fewer than three years form this recording, Ron stepped on a rainbow.

  • Happy Birthday, Ron

  • Pigpen!......love you man

  • Nice quality ... Thanks for postin' !

  • beauty

  • I love Pigpen!thank you for posting this!! :)
