I read about it on yahoo earlier and didn't even realize that the 6 train makes that turn but I took the ride later on that day and got a rush out of it. It was strange cause for one I was the only one getting on the train when it was suppose to be the last stop (there was a lady looking at me all weird like...lol) And then two: when it was going across the abandoned station (which is really the City Hall station) it was all dark and felt kind of spooky...lmao! It was really cool though!

One of the reasons that the station isn't used any more is the long step to the platform because it's built on a sharp curve.

Transit Museum opens it for tours a few times each year for members (when this video was taken.) It's normally dark except for when a 6 train finishes a downtown 6 run and moves to uptown track.

the station was closed to passengers in 1945, however, the loop track has always been used by number 6 subway trains to reverse direction after ending thier southbound run at Brooklyn Bridge. the station was too short and not well patronized. considered one of the best designed stations in the system, it has been one of the museums most popular tours.
