  • Saw this yesterday when they were talking about him. What a sight and a waste of talent.

  • good landind

  • r.I.P UDET

  • Udet was a good man. Honourable man than Milch. Göring disrespected him because of the drug. The young Göring prior to addiction would have treated him as an equal.

  • Great flyer.

    He had balls.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Awesome, theres a flying legend.

  • Wonder how he could fit his gigantic ballz into the cockpit

  • You can see flying like this in most any airshow today. The modern planes don't look the same doing slips, but they can do them. Check out 'Bob Hoover' on google for a REAL pilot doing power off aerobatcis in a twin-engine Aero Commander.

  • how does one do a dead stick loop? to make the plane loop, you have to pull back on the stick..otherwise, your forward momentum will simply hold the alerons level...

  • @brofun - when you put the nose down, the plane picks up speed whether or not the engine is running. Enough speed will carry you over the top of the loop without the engine. Ailerons have nothing to do with it.

  • Man got SKILLS...and Steel Balls.

  • Deadstick sideslip landing. Wow. Probably the most skilled pilot I've ever seen.

  • udet can land his airplane in a one meter big parking box! :-)

  • Whoah. Political beliefs aside, that's some of the best flying I've seen.

  • @BlacklistedFish He wasn't too political. All he really wanted to do was to fly and womanize, lol.

  • Ah heck, I've seen new pilots do things like that and a lot scarier!

  • @tsbrownie maybe, but with over 100 years of flying history and industry, not with10-15 years and wood and fabric planes and almost untested...

  • @tsbrownie Intentionally?

  • A Picture of Udet from WW1 times: ht*tp://w*ww.fliegergraeber.de/udet/udet.JPG

  • National Socialist or not ... This man was born to fly!!.. And land.......

  • Show off.

  • No need to apologize for Udet... he was just as much a 1930's Nazi as any other member of the Party. He voluntarily wore the Swastika as did they all. By the 40's, Udet just didn't like where the Party was taking him. As time went on, more and more Party members would feel the same way.

  • Looking at it again and again, Udet is using an airplane as a parachute. It shouldn't even be possible.

  • Jesus... and before his dead stick loop and sideslip landing, he picked up a handkerchief off the ground with the port wing; in case anyone missed the beginning.

Nobody could do what Udet did. It's even more remarkable that aviation, especially exhibition aviation, was in its infancy. There was no one to learn from or copy in those days. Udet never saw a side slip landing to know it was even possible... he had to risk his life to know that it even was.

  • Udet was murdered by the brownbrothers, how we call the nazis in germany. He was not only a perfect pilot, he was known for his warm caracter, his international connections and his relation to the german resistans. With man like him on power the war ended were lost when the americans enter the war. He was right and he was a man who said what he was thinking. So his dead was sure, like the dead of many others during that time. He shits on his rank.

  • I dont get it why get hung up on the past when genicide is going on everyday. Guess as a species we dont learn from our mistakes just point them out once we've done it again.

  • @thefirstapots1 - those who forget the past will be condemed to repeat it. That is why we get "hung up" on the past. Genocide happens everyday because no one really "remember" about what heppened in Nazi Germany.

  • awesome sideslips!!

  • @alfredtupper You are a very good clown, but you forgot the me-262, who was designed by 2 Eskimos. But i agree with the rest of your statement, in fact germans engineers were influenced by an american plane, the ju-88 was design by germans....

  • Cant do that in a Mooney!!!

  • @mooneyexecutive - yes, you can! It won't look be same because of the different aerodynamics, but you can do a power-off loop and a side slip to landing.

  • Everybody here talks about how the Jew's suffered...as if they were the only ones. Maybe he felt guilty for everything?

  • He was responsible for promoting the idea of dive-bombing (and the development of the aircraft used) in close co-operation with the army, a vital part of the Blitzkrieg methods used so successfully from 1939. His inspiration for this interest was seeing US Army exercises in the 1930s. The Germans gleaned a lot of technical aviation information from the States in the 30s ... the original Junkers 88 was designed by two Americans.

  • Can you imagine flying against a pilot with those skills?

Once Udet had you in his gunsights you were totally fucked.

It was like flying against Bong or McGuire or McCampbell in WWII...you just hoped they were busy somewhere else when you were flying.

    Those guys were stone killers.

  • @hammerogod Agreed that Udet was up there with the best of pilots but Udet swore that not only did Guynemer out fly him during a one on one encounter, Guynemer also let him fly away after realizing Udets guns had jammed, rendering him offenceless.

  • Back in those times pilots had serious balls

  • @niksarass like me?

  • @RoseBowlFlyer26 huummm...no

  • @niksarass Actually, he wasn't sober too much, since he relied on a cocktail of alcohol and benzedrine.^^

  • @niksarass They still have and even bigger. Back on this times planes were slow and VERY maneuverable, that means easy to control.

  • @niksarass - you can see flying like this in most any airshow today. The modern planes don't look the same doing slips, but they can do them. Check out 'Bob Hoover' on google for a REAL pilot doing power off aerobatcis in an twin-engine Aero Commander.

  • @niksarass

    Balls of Steel ;-)

  • @niksarass And an accident rate hundreds of times higher than today.

  • with skills like this no wonder the luftwaffe were hammering the allies right left n centre........

  • Wholly shit, what a beast.

  • imagine that every human you see in this clip has died long time ago, its so cool to see old videos

  • good pilot

  • Interesting to see footage of his special Flamingo.

  • Thank you GROUND EFFECT!

  • that is a pilot

  • This guy is good.

  • Sundays child.

  • nazi , no nazi ??? shut up moron!

  • @okaaaiiiden Several of whom returned their WW1 medals when Hitler came to power and started his persecution of the Jews.

  • If you notice in the very first approach he snares a handkerchief just a few inces off the ground with his lower left wing. Wonderful pilot.

  • thanks again BomberGuy

  • Got white knuckles just from watching. It was amazing.

  • Reminds me of Bob Hoover

  • In WW1 most of the top allied pilots were from Canada. It is very clearly that if not for canadian and south african contribution Britain and France would have lost WW1 just like Russia did.

  • @ss90ss444 lol

  • Poor Udet. Loved flying but got mixed with the wrong crowd.

  • A great pilot and, believe it or not, an excellent cartoonist.

  • Great pilot. Not so great administrator.

  • Those planes were very forgiving when they went into a spin.

You also had to be a bit fucking crazy to do that on purpose.

  • @engaurd aw poor litle fan boi...mad the little auto tune kid dosn't have more fans...whaterver.

  • @engaurd obvously I have a sarchasm problem..

  • @GrigoriZhukov Looks more like diversion and distraction to prevent any discussion of facts.

  • @wwwtotalitaerde could be...still doesn't change the fact I'm correct and the little facists bastards are wrong or that Udet was a hell of a stick.

  • @GrigoriZhukov You are correct. Many of todays German pilots are pussies, compared to French, English or US pilots.

  • @wwwtotalitaerde You keep thinking that...and you would be wrong yet again.

  • @GrigoriZhukov Have you ever been in Germany?

  • @wwwtotalitaerde over it more than once... and fyi I've met many luftwaffen pilots in my younger days. We'd take them quail hunting out by VAFB. 8^)

  • Comment removed

  • @GrigoriZhukov Mr Russki in your younger days ? um? You're 45, and you never bin to Germany. For whom you are flying now, Aeroflot ? or are you working as a postman? Probably you're flying a phantom in "Battlefield Vietnam" If you send me your squadron, I'll check it

  • @wwwtotalitaerde How are the Germans pussy pilots? That makes no sense, what facts are you drawing this from other than your dirty ass?

Better take a look at the Germans in aviation, they were brilliant and did with far less then the Allies.

  • @mrceebees14 Germans were brilliant.... You are right.

For today: I just could write down 100 pages of complete fails. Beginning with the only DC 3 available in Germany. They used it to make a film during flight. To have favorable light conditions they asked the pilots to almost completely tape their windows which they did. Having lost their orientation they crashed into one of the hills near Heidelberg.

  • @engaurd Why shouldnt I upload a review? This book is very interesting and seems to have been published in english as well. At least it was translated by the US gov. and given the titel The Radiating Brain.

Btw, your channel is being blocked by German censoring. What could possibly be the reason to do so?

  • @engaurd Check out the book: Le cerveau émetteur written by Ferdinando Cazzamalli. This italian doctor already tapped the brain using heterodyning radar techniques in the 1930s. This book was reprinted in 1998 and still is available. IK should upload a review on my channel and on my homepage.

  • That is a German Ace!

  • hes a german, no wonder why he can fly :D:D:D

  • Comment removed

  • w o w

  • @wwwtotalitaerde

Now where did I put my tinfoil hat?

  • @knurd75 Nubs use tinfoil. U need stainles steel hat from KRUPP :D

  • @knurd75 Check out the film about tapping a cats brain and making visible the cats eyesight on the surface of the brain. This film is linked in the favorites section of my channel. Tinfoil will reduce radiation from the braincells as this is very weak.

  • @wwwtotalitaerde Fuck off stupid paranoid spammer!

  • @wwwtotalitaerde funny best tanks, nuke capable, best fighters...no REAL bombers, no morals, no ethics. Oh and their equipment spent more time in the shop than in the field. Their rifles were crap also...no sense about logistics and totally incapable of running a war. Yep world beating skills those are. LOSER!

  • @GrigoriZhukov

Bullshit! Germany build planes while your whole population was farming potatos before WW1 so shut the fuck up ruski.

Planes you managed to build for WW2 were build mostly with foreign help you dumb fuck. Help you got from the french, anglo-saxons and the germans in 1930s.

  • @ss90ss444 Really...you don't say. If wasn't documented then it NEVER happened. Period end of discussion little fruiloop nazi boi.

  • @GrigoriZhukov you just have complex about our brain and your stupidity. nkwd bitch. you killed more russians than the waffen ss ever dreamd of

  • @WilhelmAUT dang, they let more and more brain damaged americans on the net every day.

  • @GrigoriZhukov Me-262 Jet Fighter, Arado 234B Jet Bomber, Horton 229 pure wing jet fighter, Stgw. 44 Assault rifle., Why you claim to be American if you´re Russian?

  • Canny flying.

  • The man was one with the aircraft he was flying. There's no other way to pull something like this off like he did.

  • Just found this clip, and enjoyed watching the skill the man had. Onto reading the comments.

Honouring the nazi movement of then, today, you show yourself to be nothing more than a thick, uneducated drain on human resources, by that I mean you proberly do not work and spunge of the goverment.

You also insult your country, as they fought against them and lost many good men, of which one may have been your grandad.

Your an embarrassment to your country.

  • @AnglOsAxOn2 Uneducated?

    "proberly" should read "probably"

    "spunge" should read "sponge"

    "Your" should read "You're"

I agree with you on these neo-Nazi dimwits that populate YouTube, but your point is better made when can spell. 8-)

  • @carmium Yes your right, very poorly written English. But then in the early hours, fulled wilth alcohol, I am surprised I was able to make any sense at all.

    What was your excuse?

"but your point is better made when can spell"

    Touche :)

  • @AnglOsAxOn2 My excuse? Insomnia... nothing better to do...

Are you "fulled with alcohol" this morning, too? 8-D

  • @carmium Damn, no excuse this time, it is evening time here and I am sober.

I was pointing out your written English.

  • ernst udet was not a nazi. he in fact committed suicide upon learning of hitlers treatment of the jews. he could not tolerate dishonor

  • @crazytrain7114

Are you sure he did not kill himself because he got depressed after fatty blamed him of all the failures in the Luftwaffe. Ironic how Mölders was killed when he was going to Udets funeral. Perhaps Göring wanted Udet and Mölders out of the way.

Udet and Göring got a chance to work with the legendery Red Barron. Shame fatty was the only one who because such a dishonourable bastard.

  • @crazytrain7114

I read that he (Udet) was also pretty upset after the Luftwaffe suffered such heavy losses after the Battle of Britain. Soon afterwards he offed himself.

  • @crazytrain7114 Not true. He joined the Nazi party in 1933. He committed suicide because Goering and Milch made him the scapegoat for the Luftwaffe's failures during and after the Battle of Britain. He shot himself after being stripped of his rank. He was critical of the Nazi Party at the end, but I'm sure it had to do with feeling betrayed and frustrated, rather than anything to do with Jews.

    Awesome flying skills though.

  • @legendofwayne Correct. But keep in mind that after Hitler and the Nazis took over Germany, it was pretty hard to get any funding, grants, or even bank loans to start a business unless you were a member of the party. Without membership, your career pretty much ended. So I think Udet was more of a "inactive or passive" Nazi. At any rate, it's a shame that Udet and Goering chose to go down a dark path in their lives (both ending in suicide) rather than being remembered as "Knights of the air"

  • @gmccord1970 Goering committed suicide by cyanide ingestion so that he could escape hanging for war crimes. I would hardly call him a "Knight" of the air. More of a flying butcher. He dirtied the memory of himself and other flying "Aces" of WW1. What a way for the legendary "Blue Max" to end.

  • @ridgerunner98570 Dude, did you not read my post clearly? I was simply saying that Udet and Goering were honored decorated airmen in WW1 but ended up disgracing their names by siding with the Nazis.

  • @legendofwayne True that. None of the higher ranked Nazis cared about the Jews. As far as I remember his reason for suicide was the frustration about Hitlers Plan to focus on building long-ranged bombers instead of fighters. Uded being an expert on Air War knew, that the Lack of guarding fighters will eventually cause the German Airforce to collapse, which just happend as he predicted.

  • @legendofwayne Nazi this nazi that. Who gives a shit anymore? We're all fascists now anyway.

  • @legendofwayne He was directly responsible for poor efficiency of the Luftwaffe's production lines. When Milch took over, production pretty much doubled instantly. Udet was a pilot's pilot and should never have been assigned a role as a businessman. He hated it. Ultimately, Goering much bear some of the responsibility because he chose croneyism over capability.

  • @legendofwayne not true: the night before his suicide he complained that "...he misses the old times when wars were clean, not as dirty as now and men could be like knights". he meant his own fighting days of ww1 in the squadron of the "red baron" von richthoven. it is also commonly known (and it is proven by many interviews of himself and all his longtime friends that he never was political and the only reason he joined the party was goerings promise to buy him an american curtis!!!

  • @crazytrain7114 Udet died in 1941 ?????

  • @crazytrain7114 I know a litle diferent story...

He killed himself, like protest against abnormal and harmful management of Luftwaffe from H.Gering

  • @crazytrain7114 ...bullshit Udet didnt give two shits about the jews....he hated them like everyone else in the world...he killed himself because of a nervous breakdown cause in part by his girlfriend Inge Bleyle and disagreements with one of his closest friends Herman Goering.

  • nice! back in the day when you used to be able to buy a plane for a couple hundred bucks hehe

  • Lucky it landed on that wheel first - if it had touched down on the other wheel i think it might have flipped.

  • well that´s a german pilot. not like these allied panty-shitters lololol

  • @dopenhagen2009 Udet was a great pilot no doubt of that he was also a Nazi and a prat

  • @goatface1000 wot´s wrong in being a nazi? the whole u.s.a. are full of NAZI. yes, you are the Hitlers of today, killed 6.000.000 people since end of ww2.

  • @dopenhagen2009 What's wrong with being a Nazi? Read a history book. Also the Goat is not American I am Britain

  • @goatface1000 so you are a british NAZI, wot´s the difference?

  • @dopenhagen2009 I am not a Nazi, I am a lifelong Labour voter. You are very strange.

  • @goatface1000 So you are a Nazi in disguise, even worse, that. Think, Sir!

  • @dopenhagen2009 Do you know what a Nazi is?

  • @goatface1000 oh, I am sure an angloamerican bumbhead can tell me....

  • Sweet landing!!

  • @superjezz On his Mac in 1918? WTF? Modern bush pilots yaw and sideslip the wind even today! Some advice, "a closed mouth gathers no feet".

  • To my mind Udet was and remains the most naturally gifted aviator of all time - that trick in the Flamingo is still breathtaking, no matter how many times I watch it.

    Love it, thanks again Bomberguy.

  • @KrillLiberator - It blows my mind every time I watch it, too- but tell me, which way is the wind blowing?

  • a queston: how is possible in that years, before nazi governement the man parcially hiden by Udet body wear a jewish simbol, the six point star ? alfredotanguero

  • One of the best! No doubt about that!

  • It was computer generated, My great great grand father was the one who spent a week on his mac doing the 3D imagery for it back 1918

  • @superjezz I sure as hell hope your kidding.... because if not, your fucking stupid... Ernst Udet did this in front of hundreds of people... several times... There is not fucking way that you can just put a mans god given talent to a fucking computer... The man picked up a fucking handkercheif while in flight with his wing tip.... there is no cg to help him... he could do it himself and didnt need the help

  • My respect to a real flier and an ace. He was no racist.

  • @130panzerlehr He was a Nazi therefore a racist. A great pilot but a prat

  • at :19 seconds my jaw just hit the floor and after :41 time just stopped!

  • Amazing ! Simply amazing ! Would be interesting to know if his kin survive today ? They must and should be very proud of him. My Salute to this great Pilot.

    Rajiv Narain Singh, India

  • @rajivnarainsingh Sadly to say Udet commited suicide early in the 2nd World War. It was rumoured that he was a womanizer and loved female companionship but had no steady relationship. His only real love was flying. Your admiration of his Piloting skills is justified having flown in Richtofen's Flying Circus in WW1, he was also the first to show Ju87 Stuka pilots how to do their famous precision dive bombing, when they refused to do it. The man was THE great aviator of both sides during WW2.

  • my 172 would stall the shit out of me and tumble to the ground

    man that was cool

  • This is seriously fucking awsome!

Search youtube for a dead stick loop, this is the only real one i found!!

makes me want to get an rc bi-plane lol

  • Fantastic flying skills! superb

  • Ernst Udet was the #2 German Ace in WW I, second only to The Red Baron. I believe he had 72 confirmed kills, where the Baron had 80.

  • @Stephen1953XYZ I could be wrong but I think his score was 61confirmed.

  • holy fuck

  • Interesting fellow, Herr Udet. WW1 ace, couldn't fly in Germany after the war so he stunt pilots in the USA. He went on to become the head of the Luftwaffe under the Nazis and was responsible for rebuilding the German airpower. He then committed suicide in Nov. 1941. Know one says why but with collapse of the Soviet Union it gets out that his mistress was a Russian spy. Could have had something to do with it? Herman Goring took over for him.

  • His wing youched the grass @ 0:48 . Otherwise - not bad . Also , maybe he should purchase a new airplane , this one looks really old .

  • @PrinceValiantThesnob now that's funny ( purchase a new airplane....)

  • @PrinceValiantThesnob that was in the 20-30's.

landing a plane the way he did deserve a little more than a "not bad" i believe ;)

what about a "exceptionnal" or "unbelievable"?

  • @PrinceValiantThesnob Naughty, naughty! Lol, you're gonna wind a few people up with ironic comments like that! ;)

  • @KrillLiberator please look up the definition of irony.

  • @unapro3 Oh yes - silly me - irony is the written form of sarcasm.

Yep, that's what I meant for sure. lol

    Let's chill and enjoy! ;)

  • this guy kicks ass at landing a plane

  • @bobistheman02 This man kicked ass at everything. He was either one of the first or the first to escape from a burning aircraft by parachute and did so on more than one occasion, he was highest scoring German fighter pilot who survive WW1, and he was to hornourable to put up with the fascist crap in WW2.

  • @hodaka1000 I agree 100%

  • @bobistheman02 Yea, he was cool.

  • Awesome!

  • Really admire this guy's skills. UDET!

  • UDET!!!THAT WAS THE MAN!!!

  • hvhnvn

  • uhmbin so einsam heute wäre echt klasse falls sich jemand finden würde der mit mir schreiben will

  • Wow that is amazing!

  • A genius of a pilot. A real shame how his life ended

  • It seems most of you didnt notice that in the opening scene he picks up a scarf from the ground with his right wingtip..... He was well known for doing this trick at airshows. pretty impressive if you ask me...........

  • Amazing how he stop the fall and managed to avoid a stall that surely would have cost him his life.

  • Even Biggles would have been impressed!!

  • Obviously he was a glider pilot ;>)

When engine quits, most pilots panic.

  • @pfiberoptik after WWI german pilots were forbidden to fly engined aircraft, thus their ability to fly glider style(even today, they're among the best in this category)

  • The age of flight lets me appreciate these bipanes even more. this video is AMAZING

  • This landing is WELTMEISTERSCHAFT

  • Udet should never to have forced behind a desk. He was a PILOT, for God's sake. And, if I may add, a PILOT'S pilot!

  • I'd love to see any of the 'red bull' pilots try this shit in a period aircraft..

  • Let's appreciate the wonderful flyingskills instead! love it! amazing indeed!

  • Respect for this man. Thanks for posting WW1 footage,

  • Dude, you are so about to be schooled. Do you have any idea what it was like to pilot an airplane in freezing weather with an open cockpit? Do you have any idea how hard it was to do even rudimentary navigation? To land on a muddy airfield with no lighting? To fly a taildragger always concerned about ground looping? To have to perform almost all maintenance yourself? Quite frankly, the pilots of today have it so much easier it is absurd, and they will gladly admit it. Schooled!

  • you couldn't school me if you're life depended on it. Yes I have an idea what it is like to fly in an open cockpit it would be similar to driving a motorcycle in the cold and I have done that for years when you go fast it's cold any idiot would know tht that's why u dress warm. we weren't tallking about navigation. we weren't talking about if it was dangerous to land we were talking about flying. we weren't talking about how hard it is to do maintenenace. SCHOOLED!!
