Thumbz up if u been every possible place in this game, talked to everyone, picked up all the quests and completed all of them in a good way and in the end the quest comleted-count was more than 100%, if u missing and still searching games maded with HEART like this one, if u loved this imaginary world so much u wanted to really save it because u loved so much to be IN it while u played this game, if u have no doubt Nikaa is a woman, if u think Outcast is one of the best games EVER made.

Outcast is the best action-adventure ever! But unfortunately also the most under-rated game of all time! =(.

I mean seriously, shame on you all gamers who missed this masterpiece! It's so wrong that games like Cock of Doody get new release every year, but games like Outcast will nevet get sequel they would deserve! =(

Outcast is probably my favourite game of all time. The story is so beautiful. everything about this game is just perfect. I wish it was a novel or movie even.

God, this game was a bath of emotions. Unique world setting, unique graphics, non-liniar stroryline, the story itself, OF COURSE THE MUSIC - it's for me half the game, good/well known german voice actors for translation, the atmosphere of the world itself, the creatures and myths fit so well in. No game touched me that much ever. The illusion was so real you could believe this world exists. The end - I was nearly crying, barely hold my tears back. *sigh*

The best game I´ve ever played in my hole life. Games like (M)ass Effect are trash, compared to Outcast. I will wait for Outcast 2 until I die, that´s for sure. Greetingz from germany! =)

I am waiting too. But even if Outcast 2 comes out our expectations will be so huge that we could not be statisfied. There is so much time in between, time that pushes our nostalgia-o-meter high and above so that our positive feelings and memories for Outcast are wildly multiplied. Said that sadly there can't be any better sequel than Outcast 1 - but never the less Outcast 2 would be great too.

Outcast 2 official was canceled 2+ years ago as far as I remember. Of course open outcast has limited budget, and also takes a long time to make, but even with slow progress, the game looks really fantastic so far.

I remember playing the whole game trough first time with starting pistol, because i couldnt find other weapons, only their ammo. :) Talking about climbing into tree with your arse first...

Many years ago, I've read in a dutch pc magazine that Outcast 2 was supposed to hit the shelves in 2002/2003. They actually showed some screenshots of Slade in new environments and better graphics (real?) Anybody know if there truly ARE new (consistently funded) attempts for a sequel?

This is the one game I have played over and over. Even Deus Ex, Baldurs Gate and Fallout haven't dragged me back over and over. It's the characterisation, humour and story that makes you want to complete it. If it was updated to spanking graphics it would have been a star. The music just sets it off beautifully - a bit of investment produces a wonderful ambiance. See also the soundtrack to HL2.

You might be interested to know that there is a fan-made sequel to Outcast. Using the Crysis engine.

Though the music, of what I heard at least, doesn't even come close to the original, it does look pretty good.

I mean this game had great story, music, atmosphere, and for game that was released in 1999, nice graphics and huge open game areas as well. The game got great reviews and Gamespot even rewarded this as the best adveture game of 1999, but still the this game never sold well. I bet if Outcast was released now, 10 years later, (whit nowdays grahics and features ofcourse) it would be bestseller. Anyway Outcast will always be one the best ever.

well, i havent played the game. The reason was i hadn't a pc where this game was fast enough. I think most people didnt have. Is it the fault of the gamers that they didnt have a pc for 3000$ or more?

, what the hell?....I had a PC that had 233 MHz, 32 MB RAM and Vodoo 2 graphic card....and acording to wikipedia these were pretty much the system requirements to run Outcast....and my parents had bought that PC in 1996, 3 years before Outcast was released. If you had a PC that could run Half-Life (which was huge hit as we all know) then it could run Outcast. So no, I wouldnt say it was the system requirements why Outcast sold so poorly.

WOW! What an amazing game. Playing this really is a journey. They should remake this exact same game with a new graphics engine.

The combat in this game was immensely satisfying, easily on par with the best shooters I've ever played, especially with all the wide-open environments. The music made the game world and story all the more epic to be taking part in, too.

I wish it didn't run at such a funky resolution (512 x 384), makes it challenging to get running on modern systems and LCD monitors!

FYI this game was really groundbreaking at the time. Really good AI and stunning graphics, all in a huge (HUGE) open world. And the guy looked a bit tard when he ran, but you can see that yourself. Music was unreal.

Nope. People tend to judge games without considering the time they were released. So it's easy to say "Mario Bros sucks" nowadays if you don't know the important the game was during it's release year. Outcast just doesn't look that appealing to me. I don't like the concept and I think the main character runs like a retard but I respect the soundtrack and it's fame.

oh god. when i saw that giant stone ring in the opening snow scene, the first thing that came to mind was Stargate. and this music seems like it would go well with the series too.
