@fireyred79 Mate I have driven a stock car both at Berlin Raceway and at the Richard Petty driving experience. There is a reason why most drivers can be 5'8" 150lbs and still compete. Catching the car and sawing on the wheel doesn't mean you need to use a tremendous amount of force to work the wheel if it did then the bigger stronger guys would win more then the smaller guys.

Racing is about reaction time and concentration.

Darrel Waltrip and the other's have a very accomplished resume more than me or you can ever dream of having he drove in NASCAR for many years and was very good on track he knows what he is talking about because he has been in the broadcast and motor sport's business almost all of his life infact he almost became an open wheel driver but the bottom line is he presented what he thought about Danica he wasn't trying to push her away he was just doing his job by representing his opinion

I watch F1 and I fall asleep. I mean you call real racing just riding around. I would rather watch slower cars that actually pass one another. I mean in f1 if you qualify bad than you probably are not going to have success in the race. In NASCAR you can start dead last and win the race. Indy Cars are ok they have some passing. Danica can stay in NASCAR as long as she wants it does not matter about her on track performance. She is good for merchandise, but other than that no success!

@ Crazy -- yea, the team & the cars they build is always the most important factor in any racer's career. just look at Jensen Button in F1. he's destined to be champion now that he's in the Brawn GP Mercedes.

@ Don -- imho, i think a move to Nascar -- for any racer -- is a downgrade in career. i'm with you...F1, Indy as it develops into racing as the rest of the world knows it, Rolex Grand-Am, MotoGP and Le Mans...those are real racing series.

Airmanjay1 -Nascar is tougher and more challenging racing than Indy/F1 cars and Nascar is the most popular racing sport in America. For both reasons it would be an upgrade for a driver to move to Nascar.

Passing in Nascar is tougher and trading paint with a car to get by him requires more skill. That is real racing. The passing in Indy Cars is similar to driving by an 80 year grandmother on a Sunday Drive. I believe Danica has some talent but her skills and temperment would probably result in a quick exit if she tried Nascar.

@ GOODY - This is racing. Only one thing matters -- speed. Weight isn't the qualifier here...jeeez. Indy cars and F1 normally hit speeds well above 200mph -- stock cars never do. And, bumping (or, 'trading paint' as you call it) isn't talent; it's just using the guy next to you to keep your car stable through the pass. It takes real talent to maintain control of a FASTER, MORE NIMBLE race car than a heavier, slower one.

I think she could handle it! Remember last year at Richmond for the IndyCar race when Darren Manning exited the race because he was too physically tired to continue?? Danica is in excellent shape and for her petite size she is one heck of a driver IMO!

I can't speak for her physical fitness, although there could be some truth to that, but she would get LIT UP in NASCAR. She's a very mediocre driver, and in a competition like NASCAR's Cup division, any success at all would surprise me.
