What was my favourite band, X-Japan used to have a good balance of metal songs and ballads, and it was clear what their genre was,and the diversity of the types of music they play.
Now, X-Japan only play ballads, and they only play like 5/6 rock songs, and their two new songs sound like a lot of the generic crap out today.
This GnR album has too many ballads, the riffs sound generic, the styles completely different, its sounds nothing like GnR, so it should've never been called that.
the riffs on CD mod certainly dont sound generic. to pretend that it "doesnt sound like GNR" is funny considering GNR never had one limited sound. they did differenmt things on different albums and were constantly experimenting.
songs like Street of Dreams, There Was a Time, This I Love and IRS are undeniably typical GNR fare. the guitar solos on the album are quite amazing. denying good work simply because its not done by slash is childish.
I'm sure that the only people who support this albm and try and really defend it must be like new fans or something, because they don't seem to realise why we think the album's shit as a GnR album.

Chinese Democracy is a very strong album miles ahead of velvet revolver.
its so dense and complex that you need a few listens before you start to digest it.
the sound is diverse which makes sense because GNR was always diverse. piano ballads, hard rockers are all familiar territory for GNR fans. you'll find those on CD plus some interesting experiments and new directions.
only somebody who is deliriously biased would be unable to see that There Was a Time is a true Guns classic.

What was my favourite band, X-Japan used to have a good balance of metal songs and ballads, and it was clear what their genre was,and the diversity of the types of music they play.
Now, X-Japan only play ballads, and they only play like 5/6 rock songs, and their two new songs sound like a lot of the generic crap out today.
This GnR album has too many ballads, the riffs sound generic, the styles completely different, its sounds nothing like GnR, so it should've never been called that.

the riffs on CD mod certainly dont sound generic. to pretend that it "doesnt sound like GNR" is funny considering GNR never had one limited sound. they did differenmt things on different albums and were constantly experimenting.
songs like Street of Dreams, There Was a Time, This I Love and IRS are undeniably typical GNR fare. the guitar solos on the album are quite amazing. denying good work simply because its not done by slash is childish.

Chinese Democracy is a very strong album miles ahead of velvet revolver.
its so dense and complex that you need a few listens before you start to digest it.
the sound is diverse which makes sense because GNR was always diverse. piano ballads, hard rockers are all familiar territory for GNR fans. you'll find those on CD plus some interesting experiments and new directions.
only somebody who is deliriously biased would be unable to see that There Was a Time is a true Guns classic.

12 years for this, complete and utter shit. Chinesse Democracy, Shacklers Revenge, I.R.S., Madagasger and better are the only songs with a shread of potential in them but thats it. The old Axl is my idol but i dont know what to make of him now. He completley ruined the band. The old GNR are the best thing I've ever seen. The new GNR are the lamest thing I've ever seen. So make of them what you will.

look guys, this album is not anywhere close to being as good as any of the other GNR albums. i'm sorry, that's just the way its is. i'm not talking about the fact that it's a different sound, it's a different band altogether. and there are so many many different people that came in and left during the making of this album it's mind-boggling! too many cooks spoil the broth. Axl should swallow his pride and stick with 1 guitarist. slash isn't the only one that's left the band because of Axl.

I agree with marine, its better to have slash that made GnR famous with an awesome tone and incredible style then some pale faced KFC worker shredder trying to be ok. and by the way, this album, in my veiw, sucked royally, and if you want a really good album, try Appitite for Destruction by the good classic Guns n Roses.
