I'm currently in a psych ward taking antipsychotics and these drugs give me all kinds of side effects. I feel like a total zombie. I just wish that psychiatry could stop. Please someone do something to this madness.

Actually, I do believe that the culprits of the Columbine shootings were both showing severe issues long before any drugs. Paxil (been off now for 18 months) has permanently brain damged me (no longer feel alive or real, constantly dizzy, spaced out and unnable to think- panic much worse than before) The paxil made me lose contact with reality and feel insects everywhere, sliced myself open (after days of no sleep) to get them out- scarred for life now, brain damaged for life, feel like I wish I had died rather than take that poison. Any help for the unreal feeling would be much appreciated!

Effexor and Celexa have ruined my life (persistent sexual dysfunction, induction of psychotic mania, hormonal imbalances - I now have the testosterone of an 85 year old man.. I'm 23).

like i was arrested for assault with a weapon when i was 17, i was withdrawing from Effexor XR and someone made me mad and i flipped out...

Effexor XR is a horrible horrible horrible pill and MUST be avoided

it made me suicidal and unable to have sex...

you can cure yourself of MOST psychiatric disorders with a regimented diet with enough aminos and omega three fatty acids. many people are deficient. also most depressions are cured with 5-meo-htp.. a natural herb that creates serotonin. it doesnt effect you reuptake rocess.just makes more for your brain when its lacking.

What I don't agree with is that disorders are real.

I don't take any antidepressants. EVER! Sadly, they put me on one medication for migranes.. and suddenly after being on topamax and zoloft I 'somehow' developed a seizure disorder!!! A disorder that leaves me DEPENDANT on seizure meds for life and took away my driving privledges, How do I even work now!?! I have 2 kids! So much has happend to me because of taking these meds. I wish there was SOMETHING i could do about it!!

As an 11 year old I was diagnosed wth clinical depression and pushed antidepression medication over and over, I have taken over 13 different types of medications including prozac, wellbutrin, concerta, zoloft, rittalin, and many others. rittalin & concerta made me violent, the antidepressents made me suicidal to where I cut myself & still have the scars and spent two weeks in a hospital for an overdose. When I refused the antidepressents the psyciatrist threatened to take away my seizure med!!
