  • very great information on the basil. my parents and i have been farming for over 10 years now and we actually have all the different types of basil u mentioned. we plant everythhing inside a huge greenhouse because of the weather. we do farmers market so come get these basil from us so u can make this great dish! we farm in elk grove, ca!

  • can i use other type of basil?

  • wow your gorgeous. and you make great food

  • Is the reason why holy basil doesn't grow well in the USA because of climate? I could use a greenhouse to get around that if so.

The Thai basil does OK in Oregon during the Summer. Italian (Genovese) basil grows like crazy here in the Summer, by the end of Summer it will be 3 feet by 3 feet.

Thanks for posting this, it's my favorite Thai dish.

  • Nicely done. Can you provide a link to her blog? Don't mean to be the cooking police, but you should not use the same cutting board for veg and meats. Thanks.

  • serve this with cooked rice mmmmm อร่อยมาก!!

  • haha. actually. there are only 4 places in my local village serving thai food. But one who have a authenticity proof. Strangle as a white guy, the most "authentic" thai food I eat is cooked at home.

I believe authenticity boils down to choice of ingredients, access to ingredients and cooking techniques. I soo want to go to bangkok for the purpose of learning more about cuisines.

  • Nice videos. What part of Bangkok do you live in? I'm in Nonthaburi. Nice to meet you!
