  • Hi Paul, fantastic guitar and playing!!

Can you tell me , the name of that beautiful ballad you play as third clip in this video, it starts at 1:32.Thanks

  • @blueskyearth

It's a very old traditional folk ballad called Fait Margaret & Sweet William. I put my own tune to it. I ran a series last year in Acoustic Magazine featuring the History of Old British Ballada and this was one of the pieces I wrote about.

  • @guitbrett Thanks for your informations. Yes I have found on the web the original complete lyrics of Fair Margaret & Sweet William. Have you ever recorded the song on cd or to download?? Any news Paul about your 12 string guitar ve 8000?? I ve write to Ivor Mairants ,they tell me , this month the guitar should be available!! All the best

The 12 string is due in the JHS Factory in Leeds on the 20th Feb. They will then check them out and get them into the dealers. If you have trouble getting one, email me andi'll see if i can help. I only recorded that clip of Fair Margaret and Sweet William. It wasn't the full song as I originally did it to accompany one of my articles in Acoustic Magazine. I have actually around half a doz of those old Ballads I put original tunes to, but haven't recorded any of them.

  • nice playin brother. iv wanted a twelve string for a while and that one doesnt look half bad.how much?

  • @BulletProofMarine4

Around the £500 mark or thereabouts in the UK in January and the rest of world later in 2012. If you want the old blues sound , use medium d'addarios tuned down a tone in pitch and then drop the low E pairs to C. For normal and open tunings and speed playing, use d'adario lights.By just changing the strings you can cover many styles, I've got two twelves strung with both to give me the best spread of styles at a couple of seconds cgange over between guitars.
