  • This is probably the 10th time I've watched this. Were I to summarize it in one word, I might say "beautiful".

  • This is very impressive! Especially since you were still in highschool when you made it.

  • perfect :D

  • its so sad he just realized life was beautiful then someone kills him :(

  • simpley perfect and very sad

  • This is probably one of the most emotional brickfilms ever.

  • This movie is incredible. If there was ever an Oscars for Brickfilms, this should have won one.

  • i remember watching this a while ago and being blown away. came across it again and still think it really is beautiful.

  • This film is amazing. The music fit it beautifully, but the story was what impressed me. Even with no sound or words besides the music, this film makes it's point with a sledgehammer. I think few of us realize how beautiful the world is.

  • OMG that was amazing the music fitted in amazingly keep it up and make more

  • When I found out who the killer was in this, my mind was blown. Well done sir.

  • wuts the song???

  • best utube vid ive ever seen. EVER/ keep up the good work

  • Hmm, interesting... at 1:01 there is a guy in the fire station dressed similarly to the guy the hitman later runs into, he might just be a background character, but the motion he makes looks rather shady as if he is following him. Perhaps this is the guy who points the gun at him in the end...

  • so sad... -sniff-sniff-

  • maybe he was looking for a death wish and then a psycho just grabbed teh gun and was goin to kill him datz why eh smiled when he was goin 2 die

  • Dude the end was beatifully crafted, it leaves you the feeling of why the innocent, and why do i consiter him innocent, and is he innocent? GREAT %5/5

  • Great movie. I always thought it wouldn`t be possible to great a drama movie with lego, but this one showed that it`s possible.

  • why is there no sound???!!

  • an inspiring film 5 stars

  • that was an amazing stop motion. u should definetaly do more of them

  • that was amazing

  • does he get killed

  • this was the greatest brickfilm ever

  • This is amazing. The music makes it. I never really said this about a brickfilm but it's kind of touching.

  • That was good.

  • Does he get killed or get robbed?

  • great idea, i sadly can't give you more than 5stars, though it deserves a million and a price... i'm not lying if i'm saying this is now my top favorite brickfilm!

  • Aw...the ending totally ruined it! :(

Great brickfilm though. Lol, at 1:26 being perverted totally backfires ;)

  • So... The ending has to be happy for it to be a good film?

  • This is Genius

  • he was an hitman, That's way

  • It's a great clip... But could you tell me why did he wanted to shoot the guy with the moustache. Maybe I missed something?

  • He was a hit man, maybe he had to kill that guy as an assignment or something..

  • Oh... Then it could be this way: The Main guy was a hitman , he had to kill the guy with the moustache, he didn't so he was killed by his client... Thnx for info....

  • If uou watch closely at the beginning, you see the mustache guy in the photo on his desk. Obviously since the description describes him as a hit man, he had to kill him. I like your interpretation of his murderous client though... hope I helped a bit...

  • Classic LEGO...mellow tune

  • Fantastic. The only brickfilm out there that forces me to hold my breath at the end every time.

Bravo and I hope to see more! :)

  • I've always loved this film. I watched it a few times on brickfilms a long time ago. It inspired me when I was first starting out on lego movies. Glad it's on youtube.

  • to bad he died a the end

  • actually, you can't really tell. we didn't see him get shot.

  • really cool man

    ME IS GOING TO SUBSCRIBE!!!!!

  • thats very dramatic really well done

  • :) One of the few Brickfilms that brings tears to ones eyes. *****

  • just shows no matter what happened wrong in our life we all could still make a choice

  • This is the best film ever!

  • This is sooooooo awesome!!!! the best animation I have ever seen in a lego film. Perfect job!

  • Fantastic film :-)

Which program do you use to make other eyes and mouths on the mini figures?

  • One of thousands of lifes lessons to be taught.

  • i love this movie!!!

some other guy had it on his channel and he deleted it, he even had a different title so i had no idea how to find it!

  • Lol the end was funny his life sucks

  • fantastic!! you pulled that off brilliantly!! :D

  • This was beutifal! Sorry if I spelt it wrong. 5/5

  • I don't get what the little kid was doing when he was rotating his hand. Was he waving?

  • duhh

  • that was good but freakin depressing

  • Was that end part supposed to be funny? I'm not trying to insult or anything it's just that he's walking and then a man holds a gun up to his head.

  • This made me cry. I am moved by this movie. It felt very realistic. Everything about this is perfect. How did you you make his eyebrows and eyes move though? Thank you for making this. 5/5

  • I don't know why any one would give your comment a one minus.

  • VERY SMOOTH AND REALISTIC! but how did u made it too smooth? also the girls playing in the spining thing there-is that stop motion or a video u just inserted? pls answer... thnks

  • I felt like crying. This is definitely one of the best brickfilms ever made. It just has so much meaning. You deserve the best!

  • I used StopMotionPro 4 with a miniDV camera. The software allows me to capture a frame from the camera on the computer.

I don't really use webcams, but the Quickcam 4000 is always recommended. I don't know if you can find it any more, though. Whichever webcam you get, make sure it has manual features (manual focus, manual iris, etc.).

  • Coldplay = EPIC WIN

  • Exceptional legomation right here.

  • Brickfilm, not legomation (to Zovistograt)

  • bast ya piece of shite ken dowsett baked baked beans fraser fraser beveridge HAANGINNG UPPP!!!

  • My thoughts exactly.

  • Fucking genius!

  • what fps did u use

  • 15, through and through.

  • simpley great :)

  • beautiful, just beautiful

  • The ending is brilliant!

  • How do you make the Legos faces look so emotional at times? Please tell me =) Great video, i'd love to see more from you!

  • o_0 cool the end in special is so m... so

  • amazing

  • very classy. love the pans and zooms. very subtle input on the features

  • Things I love about this film:

    1. its smooth, loved the cupboard hitting the wall and bouncing back.

    2. Even though lego people aren't very expressive you did it well.

    3. the people and cars going extra fast at times while the protagonist was in a normal speed.

    And I Disliked nothing.

  • Great ending.

  • the time lapse alley shot is amazing

  • T_T

  • Lol then he got suspended from copying things.. Copied animations from MattGillan too and well, I busted him. Hehe it was end of the cheater animator. :]

  • Great I saw this animation first time on youtube user named AlexThompson, he had copied it from you. Great story. :))

  • Emotional Lego? Wow.

  • Wow great animation, special effects, and cool shoots a great brickfilm all toghter

  • I love the alley shot so much

  • I still love this film.

    Congratulations once again!

  • WOW, you, my friend are a master film maker, the seamingly brutal nature of a hitman, a hired killer, is told in this film, not as the steriotype, but recognises that everyone has emotion, that everone has grace and compation, even if their hands were stained by the sin of killing.

  • i really loved this video... nicley done.

  • i am a big fan of stop motion especially with tegos.i heard about you in the wallstreet journal. please tell me what camera u used and what program you edited it on. was it on a mac or a pc? are u going to make another one? will people talk in the next one(if u make one)

  • Shot on a Canon ZR45 with an anamorphic adapter (which turned out to be a waste of money), frames captured with StopMotion Pro 4, edited in After Effects (PC, but OS doesn't matter).

I am working on another, but no talking.

  • AWESOME!!! Great job, Michael Green!

  • Oh no you didn't!

  • I read the artical in the WSJ, went straight to my computer, searched it on youtube and up until now, i had no idea why youtube had been created

  • Thanks for all the comments and conspiracy theories. I didn't expect the Wall Street Journal to begin the article with this film (thus placing it on the first page of the weekend edition), and I'm glad it's being seen by a new audience. Big thanks to Andrew LaVallee and his superb taste.

  • This is amazing. Your ability to express so much subtle emotion with your subject has me in awe. You'll be a great filmmaker my friend.

  • i swear this is the best stop motion i've ever seen besides calums claymation i heard it took over 3 quarters of a year to make any way keep em comin the way they move amazed me.

  • also read about it in the WSJ, had to say it's a damn good vid, always played legos as a kid, and wrote most of my creative writing pieces about characters like your protagonist... putting the 2 together? good stuff!

  • wsj is a rag for zionists and fools

  • wsj, good artical, good video

  • wsj

    that was awesome

  • Really impressive, the walking looked a little weird and whatnot, but the expressions at the end and the faux time lapse photography in the background were both incredible.

    Great choice of music too.

  • wsj

  • thank the wsj. nice vid by the way

  • Wow LOL WSJ same! Man this rocks. I made lego films before but this had such simple beauty and was shot so elegantly. I loved it!

  • did the guy get killed? (this from my 8-year-old son....yes, i let him watch your movie....it's lovely. i also read about it in the wsj. congratulations!)

  • I too am a WSJ referral. . .AWESOME!!! Hope you rec'vd an A+ for this.

  • Nice video. I found this in the WSJ as well.

  • WSJ too

  • Brought by WSJ. Wow. Amazing. Better then the review.

  • wsja

  • WSJ article

  • i was brought here by the WSJ article...

  • Just read the WSJ article. I wonder how many views that will bring this weekend.

  • Great video! I just read about it in the WSJ. Well done!

  • Coincidence, I just read that article too. That film is fantastic, sad, yet brilliant. I tried stop animations of Lego, but they never came close to this.

  • Excellent work! I, too, read about this in the Wall Street Journal. I hope this turns out to be your big break, and I hope your professor gave you an A, even if you don't care what he/she thinks. I'm sure the process was painstaking. Good luck in the future.

  • Same!!!

  • Hi..I too read this in the WSJ (front page!). My wife and I really enjoyed this; very nice job. This reminds me of some of the short films my brother did with Fisher-Price toys and Super 8mm.

  • great video. i read about it in the WSJ and figured it had to be pretty good to get in there.

  • Great video, I just read about it in the Wall Street Journal. Way to go

  • ME TOO i read it in the wall street journal too good job!

  • holly crap thats the best music vid i've ever seen!

your talented as comet, i knew you would be (your a mod) but you blew me away with that. good song too.

  • Interesting proposition. Is there a brochure in which I can learn more?

  • reminds me of garden state, another great movie

  • How did you do the pans and zooms so smoothly?

I love the wide show, where he was holding the gun and it slowly zoomed in.

  • I LOVE YOUR FILMS

  • lol

  • that might have been the most fluid and well-done brick films I have ever seen! Keep up the good work!
