I am not so sure that girl overreacted. Creepy? Yes. Almost as creepy as being trapped in the middle of nowhere alone except for someone who can't even communicate with you because they were injured trying to reach you. If you love them that much- and you're that lonely- you'll do anything. When the glass removed his right arm, she realized she was left handed and didn't need hers. The only way to avoid a lifetime of isolation was to give up her right arm so they could be together again.

To get the Point.. It's a metaphor, only those, who had Situations like that, can feel & get the Point of that great Animation.

And to make it clear, when he hit the Wall he didn't broke his hand.. he didn't turn into a bunch of black pixel.. he lost his arm there, the Glass went back to his space and separated his arm. He was a Left-Hander & she's a Right Hander. He lost his LEFT Hand and so he couldn't draw anymore, but that was the thing they SHARED together..and so she shared her left hand!!

In return, she got hers taken off as a "now we're on the same level....draw with me?" since it's the only thing they bonded over. Fall in love one day. It may sound stupid, but regardless of the situation, you'll do whatever you can to be able to be with the one you love. Trust me.
