Hmmm. I found your comment interesting because I didn't give a shit about table manners when I was their age and now I am an Honours student at my university. I'm not sure if you're assumption that good manners as a child and getting accepted into a college are positively correlated is correct.

I feel like they have just unpleasant personalities (the parents) that can't always be blamed on having 8 kids. I feel like there are parents out there who have 6 kids and have to deal with a lot too but are nicer and less "OMGZZZ! IT'S THE END OF THE WORRRRLD!"

The kids are adorable but have terrible table manners. I saw an episode last night. Kate was telling them they were going to move and asked each child to speak while they were chewing their food. yikes! It would be great to see a show where they learn how to eat properly with their left hand ON the table NOT on their laps like uneducated americans do. Yes!..The classy way to eat is with two hands on the table. The right hand uses the knife and the left hand uses the fork. And no switching..

@JADORELOPERA When I'm cutting food i HAVE to use my left hand with the knife, and once done i set down my knofe and move my fork over to my left hand... i'm a lefty i CAN'T do it any other way. And it ISN'T classy to have your hands on the table. You are supposed to have both hands in your lap unless you are using your fork, once you have a bite in your mouth you set down your fork to chew and put your hand back in your lap.
