If your trying to log onto a wifi connection with a password, the password is case sensitive. So typing in all capital letters and your password is in lower case letters you wont get it at all.

change ur router settings to wep not wpa, to do this go on ur computer and into internet explorer. then in the address bar type in either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 then login as admin, admin and change ur securty to wep.

This is basically what i done, click on Start then Run... then type "ipconfig/all" take note of the DNS Servers number i.e. XXX.XXX.X.X then go into your ipod settings > wifi then click on the blue arrow of your network, then under the DHCP section enter your DNS server number into the DNS section. When i done this all my other settings appeared and it worked

its not illegal? it means it has a password on it. Such as WEP. companies usually put a password on their network so that people cannot use it. its not illegal, it just has a password protecting it.

I dont think you have the right password. I had the same problem with my netgear router. Its quite confusing, there's a passWORD which you set yourself usually,and im not sure whats thats used for, and a passCODE, which consists of numbers AND letters, About 12 digits long usually,and is set automatically by the router. Find the passCODE, and i reckon it shud work.

you must get your ipod ip address, it's like 00:1D:4F... you'll find it in settings. then you must write it to your network settings on your computer. i don't know how to do this, but maybe someone will show you.

That blue key means you have Caps lock enabled. All the letters are uppercase. You need to either stop doing that or turn of that preference in General / keyboard. It's called "Enable Caps Lock"
