I'd say many people in this day and age would like it if there was little need for police officers. If all people were as rational as you, maybe it could be like that. You are correct, this country, this world, needs to have an enforcement system overhaul, one that includes more rationalization and more fairness (much like what I heard you speak of), and less injustice, hatred, and the willingness to ignore the law. I'm on the side of the EMTs, but I still don't think it's a racist issue guys. The trooper was already pissed before he even knew there was an EMT in the ambulance who was black. In comparison, the black EMT was more confrontational with the trooper than the white EMT, which drew more anger/aggression from the trooper. I do side with the black EMT, tho. I felt he was treated unfairly regardless of his race or color. I feel for the family of the patient/and patient more than anyone!

The media has only been painting a dramatic picture of a poor paramedic who was choked by a power hungry trooper. B) The circumstance was- the cop was called to pursue someone and the ambulance did not get out of the way. B/c of this the cop pulled it over for obstructing justice. The driver and officer are acquaintances and this altercation could have been over within a few minutes. The problem began when the other EMT in the passenger side decided to but in and prevent the officer and driver from communicating.
Agree with your point C. No need for race issue. But I must disagree with your point B. The medic in the back (Maurice) is in CHARGE of that ambulance and patient care. It is up to him to know why his ambulance is stopped, and why ANYBODY is delaying him from getting his Patient to the hospital. As soon as the officer realized that ambulace was patient loaded, he should have had enough sense to meet up at the ER. If he absolutely had to write a ticket that is.

Three states have a police dept that is a total disgrace- Texas- Florida and Oklahoma. The politicians and DA's in all 3 states need to be voted out before your family member is the next victim. As i see it, there are certain things that need to be done in this situation.
#1. Officer 606 should be fired, Charged with the felony offense of assaulting a paramedic in the line of duty , as well as criminal negligence and/or criminal endangerment, tried in a court of law, sentenced accordingly, and if found guilty (which we can all see that he clearly is) should be forced to serve the maximum penalty.
#2. The other officer at the scene should also face these same charges for his involvement (minus the felony assault).
#3. The officers at that arrived at the hospital that is mentioned in Mr. whites report should be charged with obstructing justice. As they did not give Mr. white the information he requested. ( i think that is only fair), because in my opinion that is exactly what they did.
I would bet if the cop was black and the EMT was white heads would be rolling in Oklahoma right now. or it was your mother in the ambulance O Boy !!!!!, let stick this cop, make him learn his lesson, Nationwide, nobody deserves to have themselves strangled like that.
That cop and many are, not good people, and they might target races, but The officer was mad at the black guy because he came at him initially. They have an obligation to get that patient to the hospital and the officers dont give a shit so they want to abuse theyre authority. I'm on the side of the EMTs, but I still don't think it's a racist issue guys. The trooper was already pissed before he even knew there was an EMT in the ambulance who was black. In comparison, the black EMT was more confrontational with the trooper than the white EMT, which drew more anger/aggression from the trooper. I do side with the black EMT, tho. I felt he was treated unfairly regardless of his race or color. I feel for the family of the patient/and patient more than anyone!

How about we quit playing the race card, quit crucifying the trooper, and quit painting a picture of a poor helpless paramedic being choked. The paramedic exiting the back of the ambulance, had an aggressive demeanor, and put himself in the path of the angry trooper, and this was not necessary. Lets just call it like it is, two overworked, stressed, workers had a bad day. They made a mistake, it happens. Stop playing the race/victim card, its getting really old.

Its fair to say that deep down both individuals may realize that they could have reacted differently, but perhaps they are sticking to their guns and unwilling to admit it. This sort of thing happens in the work place all the time, and I bet that almost every person has lost their temper and acted unprofessionally at sometime in their career. I would hate doing my job knowing that a camera was going to be documenting my every movement.

The media has only been painting a dramatic picture of a poor paramedic who was choked by a power hungry trooper. I realize I dont know all the facts, however, the facts of the video clearly depict an officer that is hot under the collar, exiting the cruiser in an aggressive manner, ready to gripe out a light skinned paramedic who appeared shocked by the officer, yet appeared to be keeping his cool.

And you've already admitted I was right about the yielding issue, so just go ahead and admit that the EMT in the back DID get out aggressively, and DID get up into the mix for no reason. NEVER leave your patient, and just let the driver handle it. Don't you think the driver would have simply told the OHP officer they were transporting? Why can't people understand when you fight with the cops, you lose.

Another point worth mentioning is the ems tech did NOT fight with the police, he simply stated stated his case to the other officer. Afterwards he did in fact win. Watch the full video. As a paramedic this makes me sick. PD, Fire and EMS are all suppossed to be on the same team. Is it racial I don't know, maybe the officer knows that EMS crew and had a previous grudge. I don't know but to call yourself a professional and then be seen like that is crazy. And btw you never leave a patient out of your sight for several minutes like the Paramedic did. I would have had partner drive to ER, unloaded patient and dealt with consequences in front of ER personel.

You need to watch the tape again. Or watch my second video on this. There was an abandoned car parked on the right side of the road. This is why the ambulance did not risk pulling over at that time. As far as staying in the back, Mr. White did his job by showing why HE was incharge of the ambulance. I cannot believe that you would still try to defend those actions. Further, the EMT in the back came out of the back of the Ambulance CHEST FIRST, blocking the OHP officer's path. A) Plz watch the video in it's entirety.
B) The circumstance was- the cop was called to pursue someone and the ambulance did not get out of the way. B/c of this the cop pulled it over for obstructing justice. The driver and officer are acquaintances and this altercation could have been over within a few minutes. The problem began when the other EMT in the passenger side decided to but in and prevent the officer and driver from communicating.
C) Please dont make this into a race issue.

Agree with your point C. No need for race issue. But I must disagree with your point B. The medic in the back (Maurice) is in CHARGE of that ambulance and patient care. It is up to him to know why his ambulance is stopped, and why ANYBODY is delaying him from getting his Patient to the hospital. As soon as the officer realized that ambulace was patient loaded, he should have had enough sense to meet up at the ER. If he absolutely had to write a ticket that is.

The problem started when this asshole cop decided to show his wife what he was made off, and pulled this ambulance over for no reason. The EMT's highest priority is his patient. Oh My God! I may admit I am a little Nieve, but this was a killer to my heart of hearts. I swear as God is my witness, next time I drive through Oklahoma, I am going to look up this great man (paramedic) and give him a 100 dollar bill of my hard earned money with a small note of thanks attached. I admired his courage and the willingness to back up his driver (while in complete control of patient) He wasn't being "cocky" he had a job to do! He offered them to even follow them.

As i see it, there are certain things that need to be done in this situation.
#1. Officer 606 should be fired, Charged with the felony offense of assaulting a paramedic in the line of duty , as well as criminal negligence and/or criminal endangerment, tried in a court of law, sentenced accordingly, and if found guilty (which we can all see that he clearly is) should be forced to serve the maximum penalty.

#3. The officers at that arrived at the hospital that is mentioned in Mr. whites report should be charged with obstructing justice. As they did not give Mr. white the information he requested. ( i think that is only fair), because in my opinion that is exactly what they did.

If you're afraid you're wrong, don't threaten to arrest just to shut the other guy up. I'd like to know the whole story, why the EMT brutha was so mad.
