I have been happily married to my E350 Coupe for about three months now and it is the best friggin car I have ever owned. I have tried Volvo, Saab, BMW, but Mercedes is just a class all on its own.
I just bought one of these, and it is only under 50k if you don't get any of the upgrades. The premium package 1 and destination fee places at around 52k.
@BASABASA4747 No it doesnt, 3 series coupe is a better designed car than this. Besides, this is an E class, not a C class. You should compare this car with BMW 6 not with BMW 3.

For those people, who think Diesel do not fit for this car: this may be an opinion of someone who do not have any experiences with Diesel-engines. Diesel has much more power, is much more effective and has a better fit to put the power on wheeles. You can't compare your American Diesels (Do you have any?) with the technical maturity of European build Diesels, especially the French ones and the Diesels from Mercedes-Benz!

@MrCentrino2 The petrols 0-60 mph time is 6,3 and the diesel is 6,8. The petrol is only 0,5 second faster, but the diesel almost has twice the torque, much better MPG, and the engine is stronger. The only pro i can see with the petrol version is a better sound. And with a simple chip, the diesel can get a 0-60 mph that is under 6 sec.
@PaoXeR who cares about the torque when u are faster and had a better noise. and the only point of buying diesel is saving money. Speaking on performance petrol always win. I agree that the diesel is a great engine.
@MrCentrino2 Diesels are very quiet on long high speed cruises though. Id doesn't even need to rev much to get you up to speed, that's why Europeans prefer diesel on long journeys (autobahn), low revs @ high speed = relaxed journey.

I love it, I love the E-Coupe Cabrio even more, but this car isn't built for a diesel motor. The sound is horrible and its LOUD. Petrol is the only way for this type of car.
@iohen Loud? You were never sitting inside of it, were you? You don't notice the car is running and a 6zylinder Diesel is the best engine for any car.^^ Even in our old W124 E-Class 300D you must hit it pretty hard to hear the engine.

Bought the car 2 weeks ago in silver - I'm really happy with it - the driveability is superb, it is much more comfortabler than the A5 I had before and it consumes much less fuel. And it attracts way more attention - it was a bit strange to get so many looks, but know I like that as well :-)
I am going to get a new car in June and seriously thinking about the E coupe. How does it compare in handling with the Audi? How is that panaramic sunroof? and how is the visibility from with in. I test drove the CLS and wasn't too happy with it. Tomorrow I will test this new E coupe.

It is a beautiful sturdy car to drive. I did 220kph (around 136mph) in mine and it still drove like a dream. But mind you, it is a small vehicle. Large people would have difficulty getting in.

It's a nice car. I've been driven the diesel and the petrol one. The diesel one is very noisy and sounds terrible, like most diesel. Don't drive the window opened. The engine is loud. Inside it's quite silent. The petrol one is better than the fuel one ! Very quite, powerful, and a great and exciting sound outside. To me, i would choose the petrol one without any worries !
Built on a c chassis, I wonder how well this rides compared to an E sedan? didn't like the C300's ride, and if this rides like that, I'll get the sedan instead.

Driven it at Merc Benz World, Weybridge, Surrey. Nice on the power, good feel in the steering but could have a little more. Interior moden and more elegant like CL, needs to be good spec though! Buy the 500 and take traction off, that'll be the most fun. Plus E is way cooler than CLK. 90's blip in merc history to me. Take it back to the W124's, love those shapes!

Hey, I had a bit of a look on google and I couldn't find anything. All I could find was the CLC coupe and websites saying that Mercedes is replacing the CLK with the E Class coupe.
Actually I did find a website saying that they are going to replace the CLC coupe in a couple years with a coupe based on the current C Class platform.
Actually the E-coupe has already replaced the CLK-coupe. The E-cabriolet will arrive next year with the 2011. In fact MB is using Sex And the City2 to debut the new E-cabriolet. Look online again, search for movie photos and clips. I've seen the E-cabriolet and it's very nice. MB is discontinueing the CLK model line. If you recall, MB introduced the CLK line after discontinueing the E-coupe and cabriolet lines in 1995.
When MB remodeled the E sedan in 1996 the coupe and cabriolets were dropped. It was not until 1997 that MB introduced the CLK as a 1998 model to replace the E coupe and cabriolet. With this current move, MB is returning to their roots.
No surpised MB delay of the cabriolet. Remember MB loves to use movies to debut their new models, in 2006-2007 it was the 9th gen. S-Class in the "Devil wears Prada", also in 2002-2003 the new 8th gen. E-Class in Men in Black II. I'm surpised MB has delayed E-63.

Some of these comments are ridiculous. Mercedes aren't that great. The 350SD self destructing engine. Mercedes electrical systems were horrible, from the early 90' to mid 2000's. The infamous Spring Perch failures of previous E-Class. I can hardly believe anyone would brag about owning a first gen. M-Class.
Mercedes has shown some improvement in recent years, which is the only reason I'm interested once again.

Got one of these on test last week , and to drive its dull.Styling and interior great but it could not stand up to my Bmw 5 series.I had that engine and it had no grunt gearbox was slugish too. Not a car I would buy.

It is a beautiful sturdy car to drive. I did 220kph (around 136mph) in mine and it still drove like a dream. But mind you, it is a small vehicle. Large people would have difficulty getting in.

I'm 1.75m and its a perfect fit. My big and tall cousin is as tall as you and had difficulty entering the car.

not true, E class is better in both then C. even the e 55 amg ( w 211 ) is quicker then C 63.

E class is much much better than C class although i used to be a huge fan C class b/4...it's faster and classier than any other car world wide...

It's a nice car. I've been driven the diesel and the petrol one. The diesel one is very noisy and sounds terrible, like most diesel. Don't drive the window opened. The engine is loud. Inside it's quite silent. The petrol one is better than the fuel one ! Very quite, powerful, and a great and exciting sound outside. To me, i would choose the petrol one without any worries !

Built on a c chassis, I wonder how well this rides compared to an E sedan? didn't like the C300's ride, and if this rides like that, I'll get the sedan instead.

Driven it at Merc Benz World, Weybridge, Surrey. Nice on the power, good feel in the steering but could have a little more. Interior moden and more elegant like CL, needs to be good spec though! Buy the 500 and take traction off, that'll be the most fun. Plus E is way cooler than CLK. 90's blip in merc history to me. Take it back to the W124's, love those shapes!

Hey, I had a bit of a look on google and I couldn't find anything. All I could find was the CLC coupe and websites saying that Mercedes is replacing the CLK with the E Class coupe.

Actually I did find a website saying that they are going to replace the CLC coupe in a couple years with a coupe based on the current C Class platform.

Actually the E-coupe has already replaced the CLK-coupe. The E-cabriolet will arrive next year with the 2011. In fact MB is using Sex And the City2 to debut the new E-cabriolet. Look online again, search for movie photos and clips. I've seen the E-cabriolet and it's very nice. MB is discontinueing the CLK model line. If you recall, MB introduced the CLK line after discontinueing the E-coupe and cabriolet lines in 1995.

When MB remodeled the E sedan in 1996 the coupe and cabriolets were dropped. It was not until 1997 that MB introduced the CLK as a 1998 model to replace the E coupe and cabriolet. With this current move, MB is returning to their roots.
No surpised MB delay of the cabriolet. Remember MB loves to use movies to debut their new models, in 2006-2007 it was the 9th gen. S-Class in the "Devil wears Prada", also in 2002-2003 the new 8th gen. E-Class in Men in Black II. I'm surpised MB has delayed E-63.

Some of these comments are ridiculous. Mercedes aren't that great. The 350SD self destructing engine. Mercedes electrical systems were horrible, from the early 90' to mid 2000's. The infamous Spring Perch failures of previous E-Class. I can hardly believe anyone would brag about owning a first gen. M-Class.
Mercedes has shown some improvement in recent years, which is the only reason I'm interested once again.
Mercedes still lives off a reputation it hasn't deserved in many years.

lol.. how do u say the e-class is like the 3series and A5? have u ever owned any of these cars? the 3 series is much smaller then the e-class.. body size the 5 series is like the e-class.. and the A5 is once again smaller then the e-class.. the A6 is the same size as the E350.

Got one of these on test last week , and to drive its dull.Styling and interior great but it could not stand up to my Bmw 5 series.I had that engine and it had no grunt gearbox was slugish too. Not a car I would buy.

Well, opinions are a matter of individuality. Im a proud fourth time Mercedes owner, selling two to upgrade to two better models, and theres always been haters talking mad sh*t... Truth is thats all they do... Talk. Mercedes is Mercedes. My old 240D looked horrible by the time I sold it, but 28 years and 312K miles and that car kept running. Quality isn't just in looks.

Amen brother.. everytime you look at a mercedes video on youtube you always have to see that one guy shit talking the benz or saying his bmw is better.. i just traded in 2 of my old benz's (ml320- 2000 with 195k, and my 01 s430 with 135k.. got myself a new ml350 and an 05 clk500.. nothing beats a benz, and i owned a 540i and a 735i bmw, and there good machines no doubt about that, but too many electrical problems.. like i said, nothing beats a benz.. plain and simple
