We miss you so much!!
But now you can finally rest. From a brazilian fan in Rio de Janeiro.
She was truely a wonderful person. I had the pleasure of getting to spend that last year of her life getting to know the Dana I grew up watching on TV. There wasn't a day I ever seen her be rude or snoody to anyone she met. I still won't forget the night she came into my computer store looking for computer store looking for computer advice in Coweta, Oklahoma. I met a person that night. that will always be one of my best friends for all eternity. I miss you Dana So Much. RIP Dana I love you.

So sad, see a so amazing and beautiful woman have a so difficult personal life...I used to love Different Strokes, and I stayed really touched when I knew about her death, she was so tallented...And the saddest is know that her son made a suicide 11 years after her death...RIP Dana.
@EdieCiaoBaby Thank you for your kind words. It was a pleasure to make this tribute to Dana and I am grateful that so many people enjoy it. I agree, Dana was a real stunner.....what a shame we lost her too soon.
Really sad and difficult personal life she had, it was nice to know in her last days she was recovering from drug addiction and she has been clean for over 10 years. From what I've seen her in she's really talented and will be missed.
@emerson24 ...After these kid stars were done with their sit coms, they generally never worked again. Hollywood would chew them up and then spit them out. They were like dogs that were thron out in the street with nowhere to go. This is one reason why you should avoid paying for anything coming out of Hollywood. They are heartless bastards.
@kuei12 Well, I agree that Hollywood is corrupt and has wrong priorities. However, you make it sound as though they did not have a choice to do something productive or not. I took a road similar to many actors with the partying and such. I consider myself lucky, but I also got my shit together. I think it's a bit of an exaggeration to state they were thrown on the street with no where to go. Not with their bank account. They had many options.
@emerson24 ...Back in those days Hollywood did not pay child actors well. And, the pressures put on the actors was extreme. I seriously doubt you could comprehend what they went through. They did not have normal childhoods, by any means.
My friend Michel Maheux, really loves her as child and teenager. I was in schock when he learns that one of her best actress of the 80's suddenly die (not for the best situation to end his life). Still he buys some pictures of her for hie eternal memories of Dana Plato (R.I.P. sweet Dana 1964-1999...you're in heaven and in peace).
I was madly in love with her as a kid watching Different Strokes. What a shame her life ended as it did after bringing so much joy to others. Bless her soul.
@gillies66 Dana brought so much joy into so many people's lives; those memories will continue to live within us. May she have the peace she so richly earned.
Lovely video. Very sad what happened to Dana and Gary. And Todd for that matter. All three extremely talented with Gary (imo) having a God-given talent. Life is harsh and the life of a child star is rough. Without proper guidance and love, it can all go wrong. Look at Michael Jackson too.

@AshBriann It sure seems like the child stars of "Diff'rent Strokes" were cursed. While I was never much of a Gary Coleman fan, his passing just adds to the aura of a "curse". May he find the same peace that Dana found.
Tyler Lambert, 25, son of Dana Plato, committed suicide on May 6, almost exactly 11 years after his mother ended her life. The Tulsa, Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said that Lambert died from a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head. Toxicology tests are pending. The National Enquirer alleges Lambert suffered depression surrounding the anniversary of his mother's death & descended into a drug binge prior to his suicide.
