69. And whoso obeys Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad ), then they will be in the company of those on whom Allah has bestowed His Grace, of the Prophets, the Siddiqun (those followers of the Prophets who were first and foremost to believe in them, like Abu Bakr As-Siddiq ), the martyrs, and the righteous. And how excellent these companions are! (surah Nissa)
this ayat is proof that after last prophet, saw, abu bakr (siddiq) is caliph and then come martyrs like umar, usman and ali.
Bro---- as for the Aayat of Sure-e-Ahzaab... Mufasireens like Allama Jalal-ud-din Sayuti in Dur-e-Mansoor clearly narates that wifes r no where near in this part of the verse.... n also Plz c Sahi Muslim (Chapter Fazail-e-ahleybait) where Hazrat-e-Aisha herself tell who who is mentioned as Ahleybait in this aayat.... v better not talk on it when Hazrat-e-Aisha has something to say about it herself!!! :)
Nauzubillah... Where the light is extinguished, darkness creeps in...Kufa is the place where Hussain and Hassan (ra) died, it was there that Shiaism was born... Shias are all Kufis... Shia are the darkness that arose when the light of Islam was extinguished in Kufa... These Shia will die with curses upon their lips and be raised in the hereafter with curses on their lips instead of the Kalimah InshAllah...
These Shia would claim that they love Ahlel Bayt and yet they would continually betray and backstab Ahlel Bayt, and do things that the Ahlel Bayt forbade. Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (رضّى الله عنه) said the following about the so-called Shia:
No one bears greater hatred towards us [the Ahlel Bayt] than those who claim to love us. [Abdullâh al-Mâmaqânî, Miqbâs al-Hidâyah vol. 2 p. 414 (Muassasat Âl al-Bayt li-Ihyâ at-Turâth, Beirut 1991) quoting from Rijâl al-Kashshî.]
The Quran Refers to the Prophets Wives as Ahlel Bayt
As Muslims, we believe in the absolute authority of the Quran. It is the highest source of legislation; in fact, it is the very speech of Allah. The Quran refers to the Prophets wives as the Ahlel Bayt. Allah Almighty Himself negates all those who dare argue that Aisha (رضّى الله عنها) and Hafsa (رضّى الله عنها) are not part of the Ahlel Bayt.
The Quran specifically refers to the wives of the Prophet as Ahlel Bayt in the following verse:
(ii) Allah and His Messenger. And Allah only wishes to remove all abomination from you, you Ahlel Bayt (People of the House), and to make you pure and spotless. (Quran, 33:32-33)
The Quran specifically refers to the wives of the Prophet as Ahlel Bayt in the following verse:
(i) O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other of the women; If you will be on your guard, then be not soft in your speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease yearn; and speak a good word. And stay quietly in your houses, and make not a dazzling display, like that of the former Times of Ignorance; and establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity; and obey

The reality is that the verse is adressing the prophet (peace b h) and not Ali may Allah be pleased with both of them, since the quran was being recited through Jibreel to Muhammad swa, If Allah was adressing Ali at any point he would have at least mentioned Ali's name was as the or even called him Ameerul mumeneen of all time after the prophet, his was the ameer of the muslims during his

If the koran meant that mohammed was the guide it would have said THE , but it says Aguide.
Perhaps the translation is flawed , but in all the translations I have read there is no indication that mohammed is THE anything . he is a messanger a guide a prophet , not the first , tonot the last ,;But especially to warn the arabian tribes.
