At the same time the Goddess of Spring says to Samurai Jack you are a hero. And Samurai Jack says I thank you but i do not think when asked to rest.

There's actually a snippet of the music for this song in the original one. It plays for a very brief moment right after Fievel gives up on looking for his family and the camera starts panning along all of the orphans. I thought it was nice that they took a great little slice of music and turned it into a beautiful song for the sequel.

you know this song confuses me.

now I'm not ragging on the song is beautiful.

but its so abrupt. i mean it literally comes out of nowhere.

there is no build up to it and the movie doesn't even let it end on a high note, the characters just start talking over it. if your gonna have a heartwarming song in a movie you should give it some buildup and a chance to end without being interrupted by the next scene.

@monk864 Tanya is always dreaming about being a star. Going west in this movie meant opportunities for her. She was singing (like she always does) about her dreams. She is one of the main reasons everyone survives because of her "relationship" with the gay cat. I think it does have a build up and it has a conclusion. Tanya got to be a star for a short while.

This however is different. I caught myself with 90 minutes of nothing to do, and a piano.

It's amazing how the animators and producers of this movie completely sexed up Fievel's sister. In the first film, she was very small and had her head covered. Now she's a full figured young lady mouse with a bust and a long ponytail.

I remember this scene confusing me as a child and it still makes me wonder now. Why would they give a staunch villain such a humanizing scene? When I was little I adored how he doted on Tanya here, but it made me queasy because he was a terrible villain and I felt sorry for him in the end. It seems out of place because they never redeem him again.
