The concert u r watching here is probably one of the very best examples of proper vocal technique. This was the period which her belts were completely strong and solid. Lastly, MC doesn't do much sustained note because of different musical style and technique. That's why u'll never c Celine hit high notes in one song as many times as MC, too.

yeah true, and I think she does it because her mid-range is damaged and she doesn't have the same control over it she used to, same goes for her lower range. I think it's easier for her to belt because less technique is required to do a straight, full belt with little vibrato than to do the alternative. For example, listen to Love Story; she sounds so strained; but if she were to belt that it would be less noticeable :P

@lalettre79 Are you joking? Of course nodules damage vibrato and tone. They cause incomplete closure of vocal folds, thus producing a huskier tone. She is not a contralto. In the beginning of her career, she couldn't sing low notes with support for very long. She started doing that more when the nodules became swollen post-Daydream.
