  • The latest report from the IEA shows that oil peaked in 2006. We're already on the downward slope, and civilization itself is now in jeopardy. Peak Oil should have wall-to-wall coverage on the news channels, yet hardly anybody seems to be talking about it. The world faces a catastrophe unprecedented in history.

  • I think the Credit crunch was the first Oil Crunch if you don't belive me check out the oil price here oilnergy since88

Notice the spike about the time the economic crunch occurred!

  • Oil is dirty and finite. These people don't even seem to understand the basics of climate change either. To push the use of every drop is insane. More production is just as crazy. With people like this in charge we are doomed!

  • "We've got to encourage more production in the North Sea again"

Did you not get anything during the studies? The North Sea has peaked, not because of lack of incentive but because of the terminal decline that sets in after the peak of any resource extraction business.

More than half of the oil in the North sea is likely already gone, no "encouragement" can fix this basic problem.
