I've never heard of Hopesfall, but I do indeed love this song.. I used to play it on repeat all the time (original version) I came across this version by Hopesfall and I personally think its really really good. Sometimes i feel that people compare originals to covers expecting better, but i've found its better to just enjoy the cover's style or how they percieve the song. Nothing is ever better than an original and if it is, i think its not really common. I really do like this cover :)

C'mon it's pretty good. It's a cover and isn't gonna sound exactly as awesome as the original. The criticism of the overdubbed drums sounding awful, however, is totally true. IF you're gonna throw in fills after the performance (which I don't really recommend), you really gotta take out all or most of the underlying beat, which really isn't that hard to do with even the simplest editing software.

I'll love the pumpkins forever but I also happen to be a Hopesfall fan = Satellite Years is an incredibly undervalued album. Its utterly superb and although this band didnt keep my interest after the first two records, I'll always love them - so I'm delighted to hear one band i love playing a cover of another i love even more.

Anyone who disagrees should fuck off. I have listened to both bands a great deal and therefore have a more educated opinion and agree with the positive characters here.

I like this cover...not the mix...but the raw tracks had some serious 'tude to them. I would've liked to have seen your drummer's overdubbed fills better handled in the mix....they sound overdubbed.

I like that you ditched the synth even though that was always the soul of the song. You show that its a good song on its own merit without any production treatment.

I would MOST like to hear your band playing this live...no mix...no punches...no back-filling the space...just PLAYING it.
