  • he's just jealous wrinkled old men...he's more look like a monkey ..just mine your own business you don't have life and please were not in 1980's..hello!! were 2012 ..

  • panel, you do not know history. In the 1920-1969 US resident used to call Pilipinos, get this,

" little brown monkeys". They weren't able to drink in a white water fountain.

  • excuse me. Charice has the freedom to choose which songs she sings. Charice was given a chance to discover her amazing voice by generous Oprah and others so she should sing English songs.

UNGGOY pala....

  • mga idol...

  • nkk high ang mga toh! lalo na c mang freddie CRUgg...... kahit ano pa gawin u mang fredi...ha ha milya na an naabot ni CHARICE..ka level na xa ngaun ni whitney at celine sa kasikatan.nasa world history na ng music world.....

  • dalawang reyna ng mga konya hahahaha

  • Wow ang galing ni ka freddie aguilar! I love him!

  • ANAK TALAGA KUYA BOY?? HEHHEHE

  • Excuse Me DI SINABI YUN MARIAH.. LAOS LAOS,,

  • Mr. Freddie Aguilar is an artist that only known in Philippine but Charice is now a international sensation which we Filipino should be proud of her because wherever she goes around the world and perform she always carried our nation as a Proud Filipino and the whole world recognized the talent and courage of a Filipino. Mr. Aguilar you should not said what you just said because "You are slapping the mud without even realizing it that you also got stain in your face". May God blessed you.

  • Freddie has a point but as Rufa said, Charice is just starting. She can't just throw a tagalog song when her audience are not even familiar with the language. She's reaching out to the fans by singing English songs. It's a way of communicating with the fans you know? But I do have to agree with Freddie about Filipino singers reviving and singing English songs when they can compose their own. It really sucks that most of them just sing old songs. Where is the originality?

  • @kirekrung And also, Charice already has 'Reset' that showcases a Tagalog rap. It's a start to let foreign fans be familiar with the language and connect with it.

  • @kirekrung I TOTALLY DISAGREE THAT FOREIGN FANS BE FAMILIAR WITH FILIPINO LANGUAGE AND CONNECT WITH IT. IT IS ENOUGH FOR CHARICE TO SAY SHE'S FROM THE PHILIPPINES

  • PINOYS WILL BE SO HAPPY WHEN SHE BRINGS HOME THAT GRAMMY, AND NOW SHE HAS OPENED A DOOR FOR OTHERS TO MAKE A NAME FOR THEMSELVES. HER NEXT ALBUM HAS A SONG CALLED "BEFORE IT EXPLODES" SHE WAS SO HAPPY BECAUSE IT WAS WRITTEN BY BRUNO MARS WHO IS HALF FILIPINO AND THAT'S ALL SHE KEPT SAYING. JUST GIVE HER SOME TIME.

  • SHE'S 19 AND HAS TO LISTEN TO HER COUNTRY BAD MOUTH HER WHEN SHE'S TRYING TO PUT THE PHILIPPINES ON THE MAP. I LOVE HER, NO ONE HER AGE WOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE ALL THIS HATE FOR HER. ALMOST NOT BEING WELCOME BACK TO HER COUNTRY. SHE IS GOING TO BE ANOTHER SAMMY DAVIS JR. WHO OPENED A DOOR FOR THE BLACK SINGERS. CHARICE WILL DO THE SAME FOR FILIPINO'S. SHE'S 4'11" 5 FEET TALL AND THE MOST TALENTED TEEN IN THE WORLD. SHE BRINGS HONOR WITH HER EVERY TIME SHE COMES HOME. WELCOME HER.

  • CHARICE HAS BEEN ALL OVER THE WORLD, SINGAPORE, JAPAN, KOREA, DUBAI, QATAR, EUROPE, AND USA. ALL PROMOTING THE FILIPINO'S AND THE TALENT THAT HER COUNTRY HAS. BOY, DO YOU REALLY THINK WE WANT TO HEAR A SONG WE DON'T UNDERSTAND? GOOD FOR YOU KRIS UNDERSTANDING THAT SHE IS SO YOUNG, LET HER SEE THE WORLD, AND PAY DAVID FOSTER AND THE REST WHO SPENT SO MUCH TO MAKE HER A STAR. HOW PROUD WILL YOU BE WHEN SHE BRINGS 1 OR MANY GRAMMY'S AND INSPIRE YOUNGER SINGERS TO FOLLOW THEIR DREAMS.

  • IS YOUR COUNTRY UNDER SUCH CENSORSHIP THAT YOU CAN'T YOUTUBE ALL OF THE THINGS SHE IS SAYING ABOUT HE NATIVE LAND AND THAT'S WHAT SHE'S DOING IT FOR? SHE'S 19 AND OPRAH, DAVID FOSTER, ED SHAPIRO, AND OTHERS HAVE SPENT MILLIONS TO GET HER WHERE SHE IS. IT'S NOT SAD, BUT FUNNY HOW THE OLDER FEMALES ARE SO JEALOUS THAT A LITTLE GIRL IS KICKING THEIR BUT BECAUSE SHE HAS A BETTER VOICE. WHEN SHE'S IN HER 30'S AND HAVE PAID EVERYONE BACK SHE WILL DO MORE THAN ONE FILIPINO CD AND I'LL BET ANYONE!

  • In reality Freddy Aguilar is just jeleous period. He's music fits in p.I only nothing more period. He needs to learn how to mine his own business. He doesn't sound good when he sing english no matter what. I'm proud with Charice, Arnel, Garry V n others. Good example listen to Anak in english version sang by Freddy Aguilar tell me, does he sing good in english ? Hell no. I hope he read this lol.

  • I will not RESPECT Freddie's opinion! the hell? respect respect kayo jan.. siya nga walang respeto.. chos!

  • Makes me sad seeing Freddy Aguilar, the greatest artist Philippines has ever produced, being subjected to such inquisition. This is a man whose literary work has been translated to over 26 different languages. Seeing his own people turn against him is very disturbing.

  • you're just a friggin crab Freddie Aguilar.. I use to respect you.. now ..fuck you..

  • Solange die Weiber reden muß man die Ohren abschalten.Das ist in Europa

so , und around the World auch.

  • Showbiz is business .Business is business ika nga di ba? Kay Freddie you have a point when it comes to patronizing your own race and promoting songs in tagalog which most of us kababayan understand. But,how about other dialects in the country which I believe is more than seventy of them ,right?

  • What Freddie Aguilar achieved with Anak and it was never repeated even by him has NOT been matched other artist - original song, in Tagalog, breakout sales all over the world. His comments, whatever his intentions were, alludes something better for themselves, for the nation, for the people. Where he fails to see is that there is are reasons he himself have never repeated the same feat he achieved. What he achieved, like many endeavors partly happenstance. It can be repeated but not easy

  • at some point. Ka Freddie was right.;)

  • BOY ABUNDA, you earned my respect. The way you handled that debate was superb. I salute you. And i salute Ruffa too, for defending Charice. And Krissy for being neutral. Cheers guys. NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL A REAL SENSIBLE TV SHOW. unlike many other non-sense shows.

  • Thumbs up if you're watching this in 2011

  • e wala nmn nkapansin kla charice at arnel nung nandito p cla a?....

mrami rn nmn singer s abroad, cla lng ang sumikat....

    wlang basagn ng trip!...

  • i AGREE WITH KA FREDDIE...

This is just pure showbiz gimmick for Freddie dahil nag-open siya ng resto. Maybe you should change your name because your name is not even patriotic Freddie is an English name.

  • @olimar1524 His song Anak by the way has been translated in almost all languages. I agree with him in a way.. not fully. Yes we have a bad rep among US soldiers because of the Pok Pok's in Japan, Korea, and beyond..

  • @olimar1524 bobo!!! hindi man matunog ang pangalan ni freddie aguilar sa labas ng bansa pero sikat ang kanta nyang ANAk internationaly, infact iba ibang version na ang kanta, russian english thai jappaness indonesia malasia chiness at iba pa... i was really shock when i saw ANAK song included in thai song list here in bangkok and thai people sing this song... some of my russian friends know to sing this song as well. kanta na nya ang nagpakilala sa kanya sa mundo hindi man cya dumayo

  • freddie is a loser nobody cares who he is

  • @davidmaren2000 Give Freddie a break. While I may not agree with Freddie's opinions, he spoke his mind (bravely) and because of his stature, media picked up on his sound bites more readily because he's more newsworthy compared to most Tomas', Diko's and Juan's from the street. Freddie brought honor to the country. He stood in front of a dictatorship. He went against the tide when most of his peers bowed to social pressure. He's not a loser. He's just being ... well...Freddie.

  • Kris Bias..

Is fit to sing english in abroad cos many foriegn people.not need to sing pilipino song in abroad BISDAK di maintindihan eh... go charice and arnel hayaan

  • Why cant we just be proud of them presenting Philippines?

  • I understand what freddie's point but also mr Freddie ! But filipino never had any popular music that the world knows about. That's why a lot of singer not just in philippines it's all over the world always sings the popular song from foreign country !

Who wants to sing abakada and post it to YouTube ? Whos gonna entertain you ?

  • @Kitte111981 LOL. Your correct.

  • inggit lng yan paxenxhan n lng mtnda n kxe..

  • they all chatting crap!!. freddie u prick! shut ur mouth!! have u even sang a english song? because u cant!.''arsshole ur the fuking monkey ill smash ur guitar on ur head!.. and strangle u with ur own hair!. hehehe. look it dont matter if u sing english song in america or enywhere in the world apart from pinas because every1 all ready know that charrice filipino and we are verry proud of her. and she can allways singg filipino or english song sa pinas, soo it doesent matter. ''love charrice :D

  • ganda ng sagot ni boy abunda thumbs up ako dito...bigyan nyo ng time si charice bata pa sya at kailangan pa ng exposure sa us..tama yung sagot nya na kung tagalog yung kinanta at pinost sa YT sa palagay nyo ba papansinin yun ni ellen at oprah??diba hindi??may time para ipakilala ng tagalog songs pero hindi ngayon mahina pa nag foundation kumbaga......

  • I am not a Philippo but I love philippes country and people. Freddie aguilar he has his point deeply thinking for his own country, I am very respected him for his thought. Your language is your foundation of your country, you lose it, you lose your cultures, and you lose your identity. We are all came from monkey's figure anyway! I believe myself is not come from Adam or Eva. I am sorry for my impolite words. Have a good time with music folks. Charice Pempengco is very good singer, I liked her

  • does he really think charice can sing tagalog internationally what a joke he is a loser and jealous of charice amazing success he could never achieve

  • Ah they`re annoying!!

dapat maging orig nmn tau khit english pa basta orig

    hehe. . .

  • he is not the right person to say that.

  • I agree with Freddie. Filipinos are generally copy cat, not just in music but almost in all aspects. Our music industry is dying because we patronize more foreign songs than our own. Even our own artists are mimicking foreign styles. We don't have our own identity. It is of great pride to have Arnel and Charice to penetrate the American music industry, they are evidence of great Filipino talent, but in the long run they should use this opportunity to promote Filipino music as well.

Alam mo ba nasa bibliya na It's a shame for a man to have long hair.

  • it really is a long debate. in music, u don't need to emphasize where u come from, or what language u speak, it's about who would be the majority of listeners would listen to your music. I am not saying that Filipino music sucks, but there's nothing really big about it that majority of international listeners would take it seriously. Korean Pop though is getting attention attention b'coz they upgrade their music to what's the trend now and still using their language, now that's a smart move.

Since i've been living in abroad i don't hear fredie aguiLAR . well, Charice, Arnel and Gary enjoy

  • Nagsisimula pa lang natin pukawin ang interes ng mundo sa ating kultura...this is something that cannot be done overnight. Pasensya if I'm mahaba comments ko dito, kasi Patriotic din ako, and its sad na parang may crab mentality tayo... instead of giving our support to those singers / artist who made it on the int'l scene puro negative criticisms pa, parang minsan hirap maging Pinoy, hirap dalin ng bansa kasi ito ang hihila sayo pababa.. still hopeful dat we can change our line of thinking.

  • I hope when Ka-Freddie made such comments, I hope he had seen Charice's interview abroad when she is asked where she came from. And she is proud to say she came from the Philippines. Sana naman nag-iisip lang tayo minsan... whether we like it or not, English is the international language.

  • @TheSofiaVideos pero bakit ang mga KPOP ay nagsisimula nang sumikat.. hindi lang dito sa Pinas, pati na din sa ibang parte ng Europe?? in music, it's not always the language that counts. the music is the language itself. sabi nga music is international.

  • @eAnZkie1026 I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH YOUR OPINION..MUSIC IS AN ART, THERE IS A MEANING ON EVERY SONG. IN ORDER FOR PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THE MEANING OF THE SONG WE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THE CONTENT. LIKE WHEN I LISTEN TO SOME FOREIGN SONGS I FEEL THE MELODY BUT I DON'T FEEL ANY EMOTIONS AND CAN'T RELATE TO THE SONG COS I DON'T KNOW THE MEANING.

  • I respect Ka-Freddie's opinion but I totally disagree w/ him. Our culture is diverse, probably it's time we embrace our diversity as a nation, this makes us unique, Malawak ang ating kultura, pati kultura ng mga nanakop sa atin. But it doesn't make us less of a Filipino. Being patriotic means you have done something for our country and Charice has done that for the Filipino natin, to be known and be respected internationally.

  • ka freddie is a filpino, but he's not a monkey because he's not copycat just like some oher filipino singers, marami ang nasaktan sa sinabi ni ka freddie, bato-bato sa langit ang tamaan hwag magalit, hahahaha! more power ka fred.

  • I have only one for Freddie Aguilar...DISAPPOINTING!

In the first place, if you sing American songs, does that mean that you make yourself less a Filipino? Kabobohan naman ang opinyon. Yes everybody is entitled to his own opinion provided that opinion is kept to oneself and it does not do damage to another. Especially when you are both artists..

  • sana nga Mr. Boy Abunda.. ganyan ung sinabi ni Ka Freddie.. kaso hindi talaga ehh.. kahit panu natin paikot ikutin ung statement nya.. the bottomline is.. hinamak nya si Charice.. and that's very offensive.. kung aQ si charice talagang masasaktan aQ.. really.. so sana you would find it it your heart to promote her into the unternational scene so she could fulfill ung kagustuhan mong makapag-produce sya ng FILIPINO album, though ndi lahat tagalog, maybe some of her singles might be., wag k mgmdali

  • very well said tito boy

  • daaaaah!!! tangengot tong si aguilar..... UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE kaya ang ENGLISH.... of course that language is the one who connected the people thru out the world.... whether you like it or not the english language is the one language that unite all the people around the globe.... universal language nga!!!! tangengot talaga.... nakakainis

  • hoy freedie gumising ka!! u had jz degraded urself as one of the philippines legendary singer w/ that opinion..sorry pero i lost my respect towards u.. nghihila ka pbaba ng kapwa mo singer..pacontroversy ang matanda!!

  • kuya freddie music mo kase pang adik hahahahahaahaha!!

  • ka freddie is a typical specie of a CRAB . shut your mouth , ikaw ang unggoy gago!!

  • grabe naman to si Ka Freddie kung mkapagsalita, inggit lang yan, LOL!! for the record naman po kahit saan mag show si Charice lagi nya sinasabing Filipino sya at hindi nya yun kinahihiya sabihin kahit saan man sya magpunta, lahat ng interview nya at concert na dinaluhan nya palagi nyang sinasabi na Pinoy sya, so what the crap is wrong with you Ka Freddie?? Be proud of Charice coz she's an international artist already, wala kang mapapala pag inggit ang umiral sayo, laos kna kasi LOL!!!

  • @CardCrusher29 Carlos was in my class and at that time he wasn't saying much.

I think it's only due to his arrival from Mexico. In fact Santana wasn't known until

after highschool graduation and I'm not sure if he graduated at all. He went to

Mission High in San Francisco . He was in my art class and Mr. Kinkle's and at

that time his girlfriend's name is Shakira. The $10,000.000. contract Freddie is saying...not true. They have a filipino singer last name MCCoy whom Freddie imitate.

  • @CardCrusher29 Carlos was in my class and at that time he wasn't saying much.

  • Charice and Arnel penetrated the international music industry by performing outside the country and singing western song... ka freddie has a point when he said why should we not sing filipino song in front of international audience when he himself performed in the phil but was able to penetrate not only the int'l music industry but the whole world of his "ANAK" rendition... remember it was translated to different languages. thats a fact...

  • Music is universal. It transcends nationalities and ethnic origins. Singing non filipino songs doesn't negate your being nationalistic. Neither does singing filipino songs prove nationalism. Look at foreign choral groups singing "Rosas Pandan" and other tagalog folk songs on youtube. Musicians know good music when they hear it. Every artist should be free to express themselves especially if they bring pride to their own people and joy to everyone else.

  • Freddie is so bum and showed his stupidity. and Cris is a hypocrite

  • Freddie is so bum and showed his stupidity.

  • Comment removed

  • Freddie just proves that Filipinos are stupid, if he was trying to say Charice and others are stupid for singing in English. But why the crap in the whole wide universe would a singer sing in English when his/her target is for international fans?

So if I was Charice and I wasn't even noticed a lot and I was given a chance to share my talent internationally, why not?

  • CHARICE HAS ORIGINAL CD "CHARICE" ORIGINAL, ALL SONGS ARE WRITTEN FOR HER!

At

  • Charice doesn't need to sing a filipino song that time in oprah same with her album to show them how filipino she is kasi sa una palang alam na nila na pinoy si charice so wats the point of singing a fil song? hndi ba mabubuo ang pagiging pinoy kapag hndi ka kumanta ng pinoy song sa album? magiging foreiner kaba pag english ang kinanta? hndi ba sya proud na pinoy ang kumkanta ng kanta ng kano.! partida na nga un kasi we are playin on their playing ground so no EXCUSES.!

  • I understand wat mr. fredie aguilar is trying to say. kung ang point ni nya is to make this country proud by singing our own music - OK un.! pero ung sinasabi nya na ang mga artist d2 sa pinas ang kinakanta is puro foreign songs, I STRONGLY DISAGREE!! so ibg sbhin pla wla halos filipino songs kng naririnig sa radio/tv? pg ba pmnta ka sa ibang bnsa at kmnta ka ng foreign song hndi kana filipino or hndi ka proud being a fil? U urself is already a represntation of our flag!

  • Tammuuhhh!! boy---

  • CHARLES DARWIN LOL.....evolution we came from monkey probably us chimpanze, black people, gorillla, white people d white monkey...

  • Boy Abunda's explanation was way out of context from Freddie's. Boy was hinting on when Charice already has influence to dictate what songs she wants to include in her album while freddie clearly was singling out the time Charice performed in Oprah and did a duet with Celine. Completely different scenarios. Gusto ko yan si Freddie dati. Ngayon gusto ko nang itali sa puno. Nakakahiya siya!

  • Comment removed

It's ok. Ingit lang yang Freddie Aguilar na yan. Just be humble lage mga idol - Charice, Arnel and Garry.

  • Imitation is a form of flattery and Charice proves it by breaking into the international market. Is it really a crime to do "covers" of the most notable singers in history? I think not. By doing these covers, it showed that not only Charice, Arnel, or Gary have talent but that they have the ability to be just as good as the original artists. There will be many detractors in the world, but to steer away from them is to completely ignore them and to pursue your own dream.

LOL

Go! Go! Go! Charice don't mind people that can effect your perfomance, More power!

  • These people are a buncha jerks. Charice did'nt start singing because of her country and/or heritage. She sang to feed her family in a country where it's society can't support her artistically. Now that she made it everybody wants to obligate her to represent. Keep your opinions to yourselves and leave the poor girl alone. She doesn't need this crap. And to Freddie, I don't think your opinion matters. Charice isn't out there to impress you. Don't strain yourself thinking about that.

  • geeez! freddie sobrang papansin, gusto lang halungkatin ung luma na niyang achievements.... grabe! nowadays you have to fit-in para magustuhan ka ng madla! ANG MARKET NI CHARICE WORLDWIDE KAYA DAPAT ENGLISH! TANGA!

  • Bakit, kung tagalog ba a
