just passes my full UK test and want to get an r6, but after breaking my wrist and owning an aprillia rs125 it has made me realsie that i wolud probably be better off sticking to the likes of a cbr 600 f as it has a slightly more user friendly rake angle on the forks. however i still love R6's.
If you get Tboned on a bike I think its 49% your fault, you gotta watch you intersections. lol 19 and you want an R1, only reason most people get an R1 is to sit on a big bad bike but no balls to ride it and if they do get the balls 90% only ride the R1 a year before dying or getting scared. Its the rider who limits the super sport bike not the bike. When you max out a 600cc wear the chicken strips down to a centimeter, hit 160, can outrun a statey pig and, drive over 10k miles then upgrade.

@Dennissays Most of the stock 600's do 0-60 in 3.5 to 3.7 seconds, but that's 2008 and up, not sure about an 02. So if they say it's stock and they do it in under 3 seconds they're full of shit. A 1000cc and up, yeah.
I'm thinking of buying an R6 and i was just wondering is the R6 up to the year 2002 which is carb injected faster than the newer fuel injected models because it seems the carb injected R6's are faster.
@DMX981273 I've had both a 2000 and a 2005 and I can tell you for sure the '05 is faster. Of the second gens, the 05 is faster because it got alot of upgrades that year, including a slightly different fuel map, injectors, and offset velocity stacks...
Thats sweet...did you think of changing the CDI module on ur R6 because i heard that they adjust the bikes settings to allow more fuel injection and a greater top speed...
i got the 2000 r6 did 230km in 5th gear wit mate on the bak,wen we hit 6th it died in the arse and dropped bak to 12 grand then wound out to 14 grand and dropped bak to 12 again,any1 no y that is
@tolker7 not sure but it might have something to do with your air filter as the air box is surposed to compress and have ram air at 150MPH just an idea :)

@Fuyugai Search "carbon fiber cbr 600RR 0 -135 MPH cbr acceleration launch" here on youtube. This guy can launch a 600cc bike and make it run like a 1000cc bike. He was still mid-high 3's. 2 seconds is absolutely impossible on a 600cc bike without some SERIOUS modification.
@Dennissays Before you start spewing bs I would read around some more. I got my times from various places that reported 0-60 times between 2.9 and 3.2 seconds, exactly what I stated. Carbs may be old technology, but that doesn't mean they can't make good power. The 2010 R6 produces 122 peak hp, 4 more than a stock 02. Add in the mods I have, and it's the same.
@iLOVEhairyASSHOLES Search "carbon fiber cbr 600RR 0 -135 MPH cbr acceleration launch". This guy can launch a 600cc bike and make it run as good as a 1000cc bike. And he still did roughly mid-high 3's. Not to mention this 02 R6 is carbuerated and old technology. This was actually one of the slower 600cc bikes especially compared to today's current 600cc bikes.
