Is there anyway to contact you as to your conversion on the cv axles? I am about to go twin turbo with my 408 and know that the halfshafts I have are going to come apart. I would also like to talk to you about your build. Thanks Adam
@adambrian The diff is a modified R-200 with a Kaas 2 Way clutch center section and 3.90 gears, a Nismo finned cover with diff cooler provisions and the CV's are hybrid Porsche/ Skyline custom made units to adapt to the outer hubs.
Hmm. I am not starting a debate but wouldnt a EFI v8 be more reliable for track use. I have plans for my 240 that should get me about 200lb lighter than this with almost as much hp but not as much torque lol. But aerodynamics and wieght will be a bit better on mine. But anyhow, would the efi be better? Someone who actually knows please chime in (no opinions, i want to hear from real racers)
@trulyawakened "wouldnt a EFI v8 be more reliable for track use." That depends on what you mean by "track use". Nascar may very well be nothing but circles and car crashes but they still use carburetors, and most drag racers still use carbs as well.
Are the vents in the fenders for brake cooling? Also are the wheels CCW and if so how much do they weigh? Great build man. Can't wait to see more of it.
the guy that disliked this was probably the yellow vette driver that had to move away to make room for this beast. :D insane 240z! its a wide body right? (conversion)
Best Damn Z I ever saw. Apart from the "Datsun 240z concept" youtube movie it is the most beautifully proportioned custom Z ever made. All that needs to become a perfect deadly weapon on the street is a lick of black paint.
Datsun/Nissan should have gone this way with the Z like Porsche did with the 911, the shape is Classic all it needs to become modern are little tweaks over 30 years, yours is the final evo' GT3 RS, just give it some tasteful matt Blk & decals!
turbo is adjustable on the fly , its not parasitic, and ison the exhaust side , so if it fails , theres way less damage than if you get somethign through the intake. superchargers are for drag , i appreciate the instant responce, thats about it. and you get the cam sounds from the cam , not the induction .
they look overkill for the amount of power you are putting down, any plans to supercharge or future power upgrades? car looks sick, unpainted, I can just imagine with nice paint. will be the nicest 240z Iv' ever seen.
The rims are made by a company called CCW (Complete Custom Wheel). They are a true 3-piece, light weight design and are 18 x 11.5 front and 18 x 12.5 rear.
Overkill? I'm guessing thats your professional opinion. This guy cant even keep traction with the wheels he's got. He is pushing 520-550hp at the crank, how is that overkill...thats more power than Z06 at 2500lbs.
Just perfect! There's no better way to describe your car! I love it! I wish my 280z will be somewhere close to what you have when it's running again..

What kind of over fenders are those? Definately wider than my s30's fenders
MistahMofro 1 year ago
Turbochargers createshuge amounts of power out of waste.
Superchargers creates power, at the cost of the engine.
Superchargers acts like a leech, not letting the car reach maximum potential.
HeWholsHim 1 year ago
447HP... 2,200lbs... 4.9 HP per pound and the engine is still N/A, easily 6-700 HP if he throws in a giant turbo, if not higher.
447HP for 2200lbs is like 600+ for a little honda civic, when there is no weight holding the engine back, the car is actually faster than it seems.
500HP 3300lb car vs 500HP 2200 car, the light one will always win, even if both run the same HP on the dyno.
