  • Actually the 2.0T genesis coupe is a pig compared to the RSX......gen coupe weights around 400 lbs more then RSX

  • RSX N/A has 210hp the Genesis has a turbo and it also has 210hp

  • The current gen coup 2.0t is just....bad. Even the family sedan, Sonata 2.0T is much faster. Yet the 2013 Gen coupe will have the same engine as the Sonata turbo, so it will have 274hp stock. It's the same engine as the evo's, it should be fast enough to do mid 5 sec from 0-60.

  • @Euphorica I've been wanting to run a V6 for awhile now with minimal mods, it's only fair......or a fully bolted 2.0T, I think the 2.0T needs every bolt on and a tune to hang with a fully bolted K20 tuned

The RWD looses power on handling, not a straight race. Oh and the genesis coupe is a 223hp car and the turbo would deff give it a gain over the 210hp v-tech k20 motor. nice try to comeback, maybe next time

  • @dude101038 holy xrist, my brain hurts reading your illiterate responses....first off it's VTEC, not vtech. Second I already explained to you that FWD loses less power from the powertrain to the wheels, FWD is 12% on average while RWD is 15%....you lose again. Not to mention peak HP numbers are not the only thing that matters, especially in a roll race, things like gearing, weight, torque and the better powerband for racing plays a major factor. It's not just 223hp vs. 210hp.......LOL

  • This is so fake. There's no way a rsx with a CAI and a KRRH, which is a front wheel drive car that has a 2.2 liter engine beat a 2.0 TURBO hyundai genesis coupe that is a REAR WHEEL DRIVE and CAI. nice try though

  • @dude101038 furthermore, what does it being RWD have anything to do with a roll race? I don't know, but somehow you decided that should be a characteristic which causes the Genesis to win from a roll race. If you didn't already know, which I'm sure you don't based on your lack of knowledge, RWD cars actually lose a little bit more power to the wheels than a FWD car....so a roll race benefits the FWD car more so here.

  • @Wellmine I agree, I have a video of my friend and i racing, He has the GC 3.8 Stock and i have the 2.0t full bolt-ons on mine. Check it out, i catch him... i'm not to sure how RSX's do against the CG v6 but all i know is now that im tuned i'm ready to see what my car can do!! :)

  • No comparison here.Both are 200hp rated cars and the rsx is lighter.the rsx-s no have to deal with turbo lag.So IMO both cars are completly different from stock.The k20 have proof of great potential but the new genesis 2.0 engine have the heritage of the new famous 4b11(evolution X)supremacy.

  • @ovariesniper I've been looking for a fully bolted one w/ a tune on the stock turbo w/ no nitrous for a while now. Even went on the Genesis boards to try to find someone in the area, but only 1 bit and have not heard from him in months...

  • @yonkersracing i did some research and this car with the stock tiny ass turbo, an exhaust and tuned by a haltech full standalone unit ($1000-2000 unit; must control fuel, air, timing, ignition, boost basically everything) it only produced 230whp...thats sad for a turbo car. As of today to get 300whp+ on the 2.0t u basically have to buy a turbo kit which is same as having an N/A car, anyone with 300whp+ has either the atp stage 2 kit or the ilovefab turbo kit which runs near $6k IMO get an evo!

  • @ovariesniper Thanks for the info man, really appreciate it!! I've actually seen a few dyno as high as 250whp I believe on their forum. Don't remember the exact number but I figure it is only fair since I am a NA 4 cylinder with 4 bolt ons and a tune. A fully bolted stock turbo car should be a good run, but if it's only making 230whp, I think my RSX would have no problem with it. I'm still willing to give it a shot if there are any fully bolted 2.0T's in the area.

  • @ovariesniper I ran a speed3 when I had I/RH/E and he had a 3 inch catback, I had an extra passenger and it was pretty even....he would only pull slightly in 4th gear....if I didn't have that extra passenger ~120lb female, I'm sure the outcome woulda slightly differed....that video is on my channel as well.

  • @ovariesniper it's going to take a bit of bolt ons to get the Speed3 up to those power levels...not saying it's not possible.....just saying, a Speed3 w/ a 3 inch catback only is not making anywhere near 280-300whp. I do realize though once he gets a full intake, exhaust, more boost and tune I will not have a shot with my bolt on setup. PS - Take a look at the Gencoupe forums, they are going nuts about this video....haha

  • Just got my car dynoed with out c.m.d and intercooler which ill have on before summer..... i cant really install the c.m.d cause my car will be getting heat stroke really fast ,so a local shop is going to custom build me an intercooler. Once thats done then they are going to install the c.m.d and tune in right... I have the video up if you wanna see my car, just couldn't put the cam on the screen cause the tv was conected to the celling...

  • @notriouschris sounds good, definitely keep me updates, do they make a front mount for the car or is it an upgraded sidemount? I'm not sure what comes stock on the car. Not sure if the car comes with it or not, but just switching to hard pipes for the intercooler piping instead of rubber could help the heat as well. It's a commom mod for DSMs + Evo's with stock intercoolers.

What is your ride hitting on the dyno or track??? i'll let you know when the intercooler is on, should be around mid to late jan.2011

  • @notriouschris No new power mods lately, sitting around 225whp/160wtq w/ basic bolt ons and a tune. I have a set of motor mounts that need to go in, but it's really cold up north so I'll probably wait until it starts to get warmer out to do those and maybe get a set of wheels w/ better tires b/c the current tires on the car are not the greatest for racing.

  • yeah i love rsx's.... that motor is sooo solid... you probably would still beat me.... my clutch is shitty and the turbo is tiny and very detuned from the factory but im working on a turbo upgrade... i just gotta make sure all the parts and mechanics are available so it can be done safely

  • @seantyler23 I like the Genesis, I drove the one in this vid, it's a great handling car, but just seemed a bit heavy or underpowered and this one has a CAI, I imagine that's good for 5-10whp over stock. The thing that sucks about it most like you mentioned is that you are limited b/c the stock turbo is so small. I think it's a mitsubishi turbo, maybe upgrade to a 20g or something like that if you can.

  • @notriouschris that video really gives no details, not to mention they put the passenger in the RSX for the second run which will definitely hurt the performance. In the first run, the RSX looked pretty even w/ the Genesis until it missed 5th gear. And not for nothing, but an exhaust on a Type S does next to nothing w/o a race header or tune, maybe 3whp at most. Also, no mods were posted on the Genesis, I'm willing to bet it has quite a bit of work done to be able to hang w/ the RSX.

  • @notriouschris I have full bolt ons and a tune now, when I raced the Genesis in the vid, I only had a header and intake......judging by the way the race went I think he would need a hell of a lot of bolt ons to keep up with just my intake and header setup, I can't imagine now.......the Genesis would probably need a turbo upgrade or nitrous to hang

  • @yonkersracing Stock for stock you and i both know rsx-s walks 2.0ts all day but like this video said and showed it kept up and given that fact the types s has the cam guy...the genesis shouldn't be climbing and keep climbing.....it would have pulled then kinda stopped this showes proves that the genesis is a little bit faster, none the less the rsx-s is a fast car......just saying that the genesis 2.0t when moded are pretty fast!

  • @notriouschris what i'm saying is....that RSX might as well only had an intake, an exhaust does nothing for the car when you dont have a race header or a tune.......also depending on the intake, (if it was a short ram), it does nothing for performance. Not trying to make excuses, just calling it how I see it and we don't know all the mods on the Genesis, and why were they starting from such a high MPH roll when both cars are barely 200whp.

  • @yonkersracing In order for any vehicle to run properly then you need the header and tune yes, But once any car upgrades any part of the engine, it only ups the hp or tq a little bit, an intake wont do much but an exhaust will make a difference(more so with a header) assuming these parts we're bought for his RSX. None the less i do was see a gen and rsx bolts + tune both go at it, i will soon be at this level once i get back my damage muffler...(i have yet to upgrade FMIC & turbo manifold)

  • @notriouschris this is not true in all cases...there are a ton of cars that make great power from an exhaust only, especially turbo cars since a turbo is run off the exhaust. On a RSX-S an exhaust makes little performance gains unless it is mated w/ a race header or tuned for it. My point is, the video that was posted of the RSX racing with an intake and exhaust, really the intake was the only modification that made a difference, unless it was a short ram, in which case it doesn't offer much

  • @notriouschris I'm not denying a modded Genesis can take a stock or near stock RSX-S......but a modded RSX-S will beat up on a modded 2.0T, unless you upgrade the turbo or add a shot of nitrous.

  • @yonkersracing i will kinda agree,but once you mess with with the psi/afr/ect on a turbo engine, makes a difference, more so if done properly. I know if a Genesis and Rsx have the same mods(bolts ons) the rsx would win....but given the fact that you can alter a lot more on a turbo engine to make it more powerful i believe for that reason the Genesis would have the advantage.....but again i can't prove anything cause i don't have my muffler yet, i hope to run a moded rsx once i have everything on

  • @davidpaulin got a slip? There's no way this car comes close to a mid 14 in stock form, the one I ran was modded w/ a CAI and probably a mid 15 second car at best.

  • Well i live in far west texas..lol.... the genesis 2.0t stock are very slow,once i had gotten the intake i felt a bigger difference (EX) i raced a sentra se-r spec v stock. he got me on a roll going about 30mph and i couldn't really catch up untill we hit 120mph because when i needed to be in second i down shifted to third and then second. anywways we raced again three times off a line all three of them his car jumped mine, and i still won all of them. we both only had intakes

  • The Genesis Drive i guess could'nt drive cause i have the same car and + down pipe and i keep up to g35s(stock) when moded they just blow me away! Good run by the rsx!!!!!!

  • @notriouschris I think he can drive just fine and didn't say anything about his shifting when we ran besides the 1st run that he started in the wrong gear. Regardless, I'm down to race any stock turbo genesis w/ bolt ons....the RSX has I/RH/E now, so it's slightly faster than it was in this vid....if you are in the area, I'd love to test your theory b/c I doubt a downpipe + CAI is going to put you next to the RSX.

I have a cat back and intake on my 2.0T and can barely stay with my brothers 08 Civic Si with an intake and I've lost every time to my friends 05 Type-S and he's just got an arc intake box. The Genesis Coupe is just too heavy and underpowered for now...

  • @TsukubaCoupe I'm not to sure about that. I just went to the drags last week and ran against a civic, i think it was a 08 as well it had the newer wheels. Anyways he had full exhaust and intake from what he told me and when we raced i beat him off the line but he caught up a and ended up only beating me by his car. My mods are intake down pipe. so i would think that with the exhaust you would almost by tied everytime.

    keep in mind i had my girl riding with me and he had no one.

    yeah we'll beat them off the line every time with the tq and rwd, but they Si is pretty damn fast. Even with my CBE, DP, and CAI I lost to the Si on a roll which was pretty sad but that exhaust I was using was kind of crappy. I haven't raced my brother yet with my new exhaust but we will soon. although I'm having my 2.0T reflashed this weekend :) so can't compare anymore lol

  • @notriouschris what is CMD? What mods do you guys have on your 2.0T Genesis and what do they run at the track? I think my bolt on RSX would do well against most stock turbo Genesis' w/o nitrous.

  • @yonkersracing It's full name is dyno jet cmd which is a piggy back ecu system, you basically able to control your bost level and air to fuel ratio.....for my i ordered this + TBE system..stock the genesis run about 15.2 but when modded then run fast. if you got the none type s then you can't beat them unless you got some mods. However the type s rsx is a lot faster can if both were stock i think the type s would win.

  • @notriouschris This is my RSX Type S in the video you are replying to. I had a Cold Air Intake and Race Header at the time of this run. The Genesis had a CPE Cold Air Intake. I also had an extra passenger in my car who was roughly 170 lbs and I was still able to put multiple cars on this Genesis. Will a turboback and reflash tune really make that much of a difference, especially now that my Type S has more mods....still all bolt ons.

But once it comes in i'm taking my car to get a full dyno test done and taking my car to the track. I'm thinking about 230 or 240 hp to wheels and about 270 or 280tq. but as far as a race between your ride and mine, would be something i'd like to see since you have all bolt-ons. I'll even try to get some videos up but first i need my exhaust + Tune :)

  • @yonkersracing Well i won't be full bolt-ons because i have yet to upgrade my intercooler and my turbo manifold. I just called and they said my exhaust will be shipped on monday so i'll contact you once everything all done.

  • @notriouschris does an intercooler upgrade really do anything for that tiny turbo? usually a bigger intercooler is needed when running a larger turbo, something the 2.0T does not have....but I would assume hard pipes (if stocks are rubber) would make a difference. Let me know what you make on the dyno, also where are you located?

  • @yonkersracing Well my shock turbo can handel a lot from what i hear from people who have other gen coupes but yes i really need a intercooler now because since i'm going to be boosting more and my af will be higher ,ect my car now has a bigger chance of getting heat stroke if i'm running my car hard for to long..THAT'S NOT GOOD NEW FOR ME. So i'm going to have to be really carefull when i go to the drags to let my car kinda cool down before racing again...located far west TEXAS, El Paso!

    stock turbo can handle up to 260 whp and 300 wtq (without getting remanufactured)

    the fuel injectors will be pretty much at full capacity and the stock clutch starts slipping around 300 wtq too. our IC is very small haha i really need to get an upgraded IC kit

  • @yonkersracing no I'm not.. it's been done. where did you get the information that it's a t25? I've never seen anybody use that when talking about our turbo.

    but there has been one guy that pushed 276 then blew his motor with the stock turbo. but with full bolt ons and a tune we are between 250 and 260 whp and 300 wtq easily. which is pretty low for a stock turbo car after all that.. our turbo is way too small.

  • @TsukubaCoupe that's what I'm wondering because the turbo is so small it's going to be hard to make a lot of power out of it with just bolt ons. A T25 is not your stock turbo? That's what I was told, if not....what is the stock turbo?

  • @yonkersracing Oh alright yeah it is very small lol I doubt most people will see past 250 whp... I'm really not sure what the turbo is, but I've read about it a while ago and don't remember seeing T25. I can't say it's not that though.

  • @TsukubaCoupe Yeah i know what you mean i hope to be around that area soon i just got my Tsudo exhaust on monday and the idiots forgot to send my muffler that goes connected to the exhaust pipping LOL.....as of right now i sound ike a honda on crack(not making fun of hondas just saying) but anyways i hope to have my cmd on this weekend if my muffler comes in beofre saturday.

  • @notriouschris Oh alright that's cool. haha that's so lame, how can they forget to send out the muffler? I had the Tsudo exhaust, it's pretty nice and great price. But now I have the Injen exhaust. Haha my brother drives a honda and laughed at that so it's ok :)

    Well mine has a CAI and CBE, soon getting a reflash and hopefully downpipe. Yeah the RSX will do well against any 2.0T unless it is reflashed.

    I doubt a type-s or Si can keep up with a reflashed 2.0T but haven't exactly tried it out yet.

  • @TsukubaCoupe too bad, I'm on the opposite side on the east coast....I'd like to test your theory. I think my RSX-S fully bolted and tuned would pull a fuly bolted and tuned Genesis...if you know any on the east coast w/ bolt ons and a tune, let me know and I'll give it a go.

  • @yonkersracing cool man... im about to have surgery on my right ankle again but it shoul be good to go in a couple weeks if you even live close to me at all... but my accord is an 08 automatic v6 coupe. the tranny sucks balls and will be my demise but my mods are: Magnaflow CBE minus resonator, test pipe(cat delete) AEM cold air intake, ported intake runners, crank pulley(lightweight, stock diam.), thermal intake manifold gasket, throttle body spacer with thermal gasket, and tb coolant bypass.

My buddy actually has the same year Accord as you v6 auto, very nice cars, his is stock though. I'd say with your mods it should be a close run, I only have I/H/E....we can meet up one night and do some 40 rolls or whatever, just send me info in a private message so it isn't up here for everyone to see. I'm actually eager to see how I would do against a modded v6

  • @yonkersracing dcrh is both ceramic and SS. Ive had no problems with dc and just bc krrh is a "replica" doesnt make it to be the exact header. Thats like saying strup, obx or vibrant is a replica to the dc bc they have the same design i.e. flex pipes.

I had a DC on my civic and it cracked, it was CC and it rusted as well, not only that but I have read numerous horror stories about the DC cracking on K series...I don't think DC is trash it is just definitely not > than a KR RH...and I am willing to prove it if you know of a DC5 in the area w/ a CAI + DC RH only. PS - SSR Replica > DC Replica

    Wait until they drop the 2.0T from the Sonata in the GC, and give the 3.8 DI. They will have a killer vehicle on their hands. The current 3.8 Track is plenty quick for most people....
