I'm not going to pretend I read that particular independent article, but just because (some) skinny people have their immune systems jogged by the sight of an overweight person does NOT mean it's an evolved response. It's just as likely (if not more so) that people conjure up the stereotypes about fat people and experience a psychosomatic response.
