You know, the whole tropical theme actually could have worked. There are chains of tropical-themed restaurants all over the country, such as Bahama Breeze. In fact, there's a fine dining Hawaiian-fusion-themed restaurant I've been to once close to my house and it was very good and it's still very successful.

Not too sure about the sign either. Doesn't seem to stand out at all, and it might even be hard to read since it's black print against dark blue.
