I just have to write more! The way he writes for the violins is so stirring. He never fails to write evocative pieces that remind one of childhood and home and...things. I'm so upset that he hasn't been recognized like other great composers like Alfred Newman and Miklos Rosza!
I so wish that they'd produce a soundtrack to this film, and other films to which Stothart composed the music. He had such a sympathetic, nostalgic style. Oh well.
I can remember seeing this as a girl and loving and seeing again as an adult has given me an even greater appreciation for it. Great soundtrack. Thanks for the post!
Too bad Elizabeth Taylor has died. I read about it in US Magazine and also that included 25 things you do not know about her.
