  • good video! the music flickering left/right made me feel sick tho :(

  • it is very good tutorial, I'm French and my English is not perfect, the voice used is very easy to understand ! :)

  • @Lillajohan123 - I think it's possible. I'm just looking at this engine myself, but I'm liking what I'm seeing.

  • Okey lets say. If i wanan create a intire city... A Huge one. With life in it like Humans and cars like if i wanna make a game like GTA would i be avble to acomplish somthing like that in JMonkey Engine 4Alpha? Or its not powerfull enought?

  • @Lillajohan123 no such thing as not powerful enough in the programming world - you just have to be good enough and imaginative enough

  • @Lillajohan123 you could do it

  • GLaDOS, is that you?

  • 4:19 it should be jmonkey.org and not dot com

  • Okay, I'll do the next tutorial parts with my own voice, you wanted it so ;)

  • THE CAKE IS A LIE!

  • computer voice annoys me do standard commentary

  • @iikifaR Jes I know the difference -.- I just wanted to point that this tutorial sounds with this "electronic voice" like the videos in Portal (Video Game)

  • @Mikescher23 You mean GLaDOS.

  • IS this the jMonkey Engine or Portal ? It sounds the same

  • @Mikescher23 What do you mean by "Portal"? If you're curious about the difference between the jMonkeyENGINE and the jMonkeyPLATFORM, the basic difference is that the engine is the core system & graphics code, while the platform is the front-end editor code, based on the NetBeans Platform project.

  • lady goes,"soisoisoisoisois..."

    This is true.

  • very cool!

But we need a own model format, so we dont need this stupid ogre exporter.

  • @RaverGames The blender importer from Kaelthas already works very good, just install it via the update center, you need to update to the latest nightly though I think.

  • Why not just narrate it yourself?

  • @raket94 Was my first idea but the guys in the team immediately came up with the synth voice idea. I don't know, maybe they don't like my german accent, search for "musicbeam" in youtube to hear it ;)

  • @nobody078 Well otherwise i'm sure someone in the community would be willing to do it!

I would if i got asked. But i have my swedish accent, search for mailmanofthewind on youtube to hear it!

I do have some pretty descent microphones though! However, not in those videos!

  • @raket94 Its not about willingness or microphones, believe me ;) Thanks about the accent but I think I will finish the "base tutorials" like this, I like the synth voice somehow, it doesn't distract too much.

At the moment we are thinking about creating a more "podcast" like format where we pick up on the topics recently emerging in the forum. Maybe that is better info for people who *can* read a manual instead of watching a video anyway ;)

  • @nobody078 Podcast would be pretty freaking nice. Or like Webinar etc. Basicly video walkthroughs. Perhaps live so that people can ask questions that get recorded?

I think that would be very cool!

  • @nobody078 Btw your accent was awesome
