  • His face says that he messed up at 3:36, but my ears only hear perfection...

  • Can you give us a tour on recording and such!

  • is that a truth kit? its awesome!

  • the syncopation is awesome! your vids never get old

  • Come on travis! Another video! I've been waitin like 2 weeks to see another one! Do you still do work for cyclamen? Cause those vids are my favs!

  • i'd love to see a vid that shows the chart! like, off in a corner :)

  • I can read very basic drum sheet music and to imagine what the transcription for a part like this is that's he reading this entire video is simply mind boggling.

  • When you watch Travis play it's alot like watching a movie, you want to see what he's going to do next.

  • WE HAVE TO GO DJENT, KATE!

  • Travis, not sure if this has been asked before, but have you ever attended any school for music? Or any college at all for that matter?

  • What bass drums are you using in this video ? And what snare do you use from 2:00 ?? I'm kinda curious because it looks similar to Gene Hoglan's "famous snare" and I always tried to know what model of snare this is. Do you know anything about this ? Thanks for all the videos Travis, you are truly part of the drummer elite in this world right now

  • You've inspired me to learn so much more about drums and music. Just bought another hi hat stand for my right side to practice leading with my left foot. Very difficult. Love you Mr. Orbin! Amazing!!!

  • Please. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND ALL THAT IS HOLY. Please, do a cover of any animals as leaders song. Assuming you find the time, and if you even do covers anymore. But Im confident that if you did do an AAL cover, it would be so awesome that it would rip a hole in the space-time continuum, and the world would cease to exist. Except for you and your studio. But, I digress. Do an animals as leaders cover please.

  • TRAVIS (or someone who can answer this question for me) i was just curious as to which TRX cymbals you use? i really dig TRX, seeing as some of my favorite drummers use them, but the prices seem as if they can be astronomical. would anyone recommend going straight for TRX or using something else temporarily that would fit the budget of a broke musician (until im a huge famous rockstar lol) =D im gunna be starting my own youtube vids soon n i need some outside opinions on the matter!

  • More instruMETAL videos!

  • just amazing riffs and drumming.

  • what snare are u using? is it a brass snare? awesome playing aswell :)

  • do you use drumagog for sound replacement at all?

  • ive been wondering for a while what kind of bass and floor tom is that

  • Just out of curiosity how much do you charge per song?

  • Is that a solid shell snare?

  • marvelous, still cant get enough mr.orbin

  • how do you fit all that piece onto one music sheet?!

  • Comment removed

  • Sometimes when I poop, water splashes up on my sack and it's uncomfortable.

  • Those shells you were using in the first segment were beautiful man, and of course your playing is to die for, dude! i play guitar and i cannot get enough of your playing, so much feeling and the most perfect accompaniment with the music.

  • what do you use to write out your drum parts?

  • Travis! you need to hook up with Toontrack and make a EZX kit / midi groove library so you can drum to all my songs.

  • Travis, do you have any advice to play odd time signatures? Im starting playing to them, but sometimes i got lost. Thanks by the way.

  • You might not be a famous drummer but in my eyes you are, i look up to you cause your ability to play left and right handed, its crazy to think that anyone would want to play like that! So thanks for the inspiration.

  • absolutely amazing. any advice to those less talented on how to develop such amazing speed with your feet?

  • OHHH GAWWWDDD!!

  • Daaang. 6:20 is so clean. Great job as usual!

  • coordination, power, rhytmic...i can't believe ;)

  • the snare used in another obsession has to be the sexiest snare i've ever heard

  • good i hate triggers

  • Paul Waggoner's good at drums too!

  • Keep the beard. It's bad ass!

  • You know Travis, watching all these videos I've grown to admire your creative skills and talent..at the same time I hate you, just because of how sick you are. Meanwhile I just feel stuck. lol

  • I hate watching you!!! You always wreck my brain!!!! Good stuff. :)

  • Hope you get to read this Travis. ---Do you do Heel to Toe, like Chris Adler? (Lamb of god)

  • @PennaOutdoors He has worked on it for fun but has never used it in any sessions.

  • I'm just enjoying this so much. Sitting here and just feeling so relaxed and enjoying it, it is sooooo good!

  • No triggers = better music.

  • @shaftninja Wow, are you ever going to have a lesson on foot technique for sale? Because yours is amazing!

  • I can't get over how rhythmically creative you are. A joy to listen to/watch!

  • @AnarchyAnt89 Thanks so much!

  • lol shave the beard it makes u look really dirty.

  • damn awesome

  • which your hand is main? :D you play fantastic..

  • seems like the more beard you have, the better you play!

  • I pay for internet for this!

  • Hey, Travis, is your bass drum without muffling on the "Another Obsession" segment? The tone is amazing with headphones.

  • TRAVIS ORBIN ME DA MEDO !!!!

    (BRAZIL)

  • What snare is that? It looks really interesting.

  • @GeneralMillss Looks like his Craviotto Ash snare. I do believe he's selling it...

  • that snare... sooo beuatiful

  • man, your layour is so unique, and it works so well for you, its insane how tight you are, and your definetely one of the best drummers out there!

  • what craviotto snare is that?

  • this is dumb ill never be that good....

  • @blasturbeat55 If you keep playing you will!

  • 4'08 the face

  • beautifull!!!!!

  • Still working on being able to play the groove at 1:00 :P Travis, you're killing me here!

  • Easily the best dyed in grey video yet! EASILY.

  • 4:08 his face is like, "that was good uh". I love your drumming travis! You are awesome

  • Do you ever use triggers, Travis?

  • @ShittyMcPoopyBalls For music/compositions like this, its best not to use triggers.

  • @shreddmasterj

Triggers work best when you want a mechanical sound, don't have a decent quality kit, or you're playing at extreme speeds.

  • @shreddmasterj I'm not arguing against or for triggers, whatever the musician utilizes to deliver their artistic message, let them do it. I was just surprised at how much power Travis was hitting with so I was just curious, sorry if that started a "trigger war" on this video.

  • @ShittyMcPoopyBalls Nah, there's no argument or flame war. Just saying that this type of music usually strays away from triggers because they are too mechanical. Lacks emotion/feeling. Travis has no power, he uses a gizmo that strikes the bass drum really hard if he only presses it lightly.... JK BRO!! HERPHERP! XD

  • god damn your snare sounds amazing ^^

  • 2:30 Contra level??

  • Travis, be real with me. How often/much do you tweak how well your hits match up with the metronome? I mean, either that or I'm calling bullshit on the "you being human" thing.

  • @JakeBPlaysMusic The drums are Beat Detected, if that's what you mean. Not everything I've tracked out of Taylor's place has been BD'ed and I don't do any of that in my home studio, however.

  • @shaftninja ahh. still. you da bomb. detect that beat.

  • @shaftninja Is that similar to quantization?

  • @inimicalODDITY Yah, I guess; people have all sorts of names/terms for it. BD'ing is nothing like programmed drums though, and Taylor keeps the cymbals natural which aids in retaining the human feel. Programmed drums are usually 'snapped' to a grid (along with the cymbals), whereas BD'ed drums are moved close to the grid. Oh yah, and "Another Obsession" is completely natural - no editing or sample blending. The kick had quite a bit of padding in it.

  • DAT SNARE

  • Freakin a' - so good

  • MAGIC PANTS AT 2:17!!

  • @johnshin shaftNINJA ; )

  • Those fills around 3:50 were mindblowing.
