i was gonna mention that the tank badges are off of a 71+, but you mentioned that most of the parts are new to the bike. most likely not the original tank then. 69's were round plastic.
Nice build! i like the brown tank. These are fun little bikes aren't they? check out my vid. i made one into a cafe racer (nothing extreme).. it's for sale at the moment. I also have a T500 i'm building
Nice bike. I have one that is in need of a second restoration. Anyway...Back years ago when they were current I had a Yamaha YCS1-C 180cc Scrambler that would go 84mph. Once while going top speed I got passed by a Suzuki Stinger. I couldn't believe it.
sweeeeet! sounds great, I have a green '70 in my shed that I haven't started the rebuild yet, I'll have to get a video of it while its still in shambles. Thanks for giving me hope! that is so freakin sweet!
I used to have one when I was a kid. It would pull 86mph if I crouched down and touched my knees and elbows. That was on 1970ies 4 Star (almost 100 octane fuel in England).

I have a spare sprocket cover, but it would have to come from New Zealand. Let me know if you are interested.
