  • are you all dumb that is a meteor, there is one that happened in 95 and it was the same thing its huge i think all ya all better do some home work b4 making an assumption on something you know nothing about!!!

  • That's what I thought and everyone who actually seen it. But because of contraversy I altered the title for all the flyboys who love flying at near 90 degree angles :D

  • It's an aircraft, nothing more. If it was a meteor it would be moving much faster than this :-D

  • That's cool. Thanks for your opinion.

  • ok ive seen this one and this is not a Meteor.

    Thats an airplane.

  • Kumsta ka, that's nice, 这是你的意见 salamat.

  • Ya that really gives what you say a lot of value. Maybe you should realize my channel, my video, my wall. You just failed to impress there, and if this is in referance to my reply to Chrisjr2007 it's in languages that they probably feel more comfortable with. And I replied back without the need to attempt make myself feel big by name calling back.

  • Wow FREEMANONTHELAND more like CONFUSEDBOYONTHELAND it says you are 36, yet you come across like a rude 15 year old. In fact there are 15 year olds and younger that seem "more on the ball" than you do. Hey look seems people are agreeing with me look at all the thumbs downs you got already. That's what I love about You Tube, I let the public show who the real "dip shits" are. NO, I'm still not name calling, I'm quoting you :D

  • ahh nice dog,,staff??

  • Pitbull cross, very smart for the breed. He makes all these videos :D

  • i go fishing there! was this meteor part of the the big perseid meteotr shower

  • No I don't think so. What area you fish at?

  • at the police docks and at the boatlaunch in the parking lot

  • Oh really, I haven't been there this year yet at all, but I was there quite often the previous years. Perhaps I have even talked with you before? I usually stop and talk with some of the people fishing there. Do or did you ever live on Wentworth St? If so I used to live in the house with all the flowers at the corner of Wentwoth and Burlington St's. That was 2 years back now and the garden is no longer there as I'm no longer there. It was the house with the sundeck on the 2nd floor.

  • isnt that apollo :O

  • or maybe a speeding bullet. magnified and slowed down of course :P

  • Idiot

  • Retard.

  • speed and contrail is very consistant with an aircraft. It seems you looped the video, you should make the cuts perceptable to the viewer. Didn't burn out? Or did it go out of view of the camera? How come you don't have this footage?

  • Looped it? No actually I panned out on some girls I was with at the time and then panned back in on it. That's why the break in the footage. Speed appearances can be altered simply by following an object with the camera. Truthfully, I really don't care anymore but thanks all the same :D

  • Than you should have no problem telling the truth, it's an airplane.

  • I have no such problem Robert. I checked the meteor vids on your page. I first one looks similar and had a similar trajectory. A crashing "airplane" perhaps. No mention on the news though either way.

  • I'm sorry I should of worded my last comment differently. You mis-took a jet for a meteor. Look at some more videos of meteors and you will see their are obvious differences in the speed and the nucleus or fireball, and the contrail. Daylight ones are particularly rare. Did you see the one I have at my sight called "The Great Daylight 1972 Fireball"? That one actually skipped back out into space. Very cool!

  • Yes I seen them all, but actually am very busy with other matters at this time, next month would be a better time to discuss this in more detail. Am sueing my current landlord and am in the process of relocating as well so very little time for You Tube right now. Still the matter of trajectory being a approxamate 90 degree descent, wouldn't a jet fly more horizontally, much as the birds are? All I want is you to explain the trajectory?

  • optical illusion sometimes contrails seem to be going vertically when their very distant. But as they get closer gradually appear more horizontal. Also the moon and sun appear much larger when their on the horizon. People commonly mistake this effect for refraction because the light travels though much more of the atmosphere. In reality it is an illusion. If you take a picture of the moon on the horizon and directly overhead they are identical in size. Makes interesting reading on goog.

  • Sounds feasable. Will check into it.

  • This is an airplane. We see them like this in the SF bay area all the time. This object is too slow to be anything but an aircraft. Compare this with other verified meteor sightings and note the speed. Note that this was taken near/at sundown, the light from the sun is reflecting off the contrail of the aircraft.

  • exactly.

  • Ha ha, like how you sneak in here :)

  • that's a kickass song though, what is that? sounds familiar and awesome.

  • That's a good question. I got it from a fair use music site, it was labeled as a bunch of numbers.

  • pretty cool i saw 2 shooting stars at St.Petersburg,Florida it was my first time seeing a shooting star

  • So you must live in a big city then, all the lights make skys hard to see.

  • sorry, that is indeed a airplane. I too have seen that exact! trail coming from *airplanes*

Sometimes planes are heading in a different direction than *our* airport, based on what airport or continent they are travelling towards. This one might have been heading to Edmonton or Windsor. Travelling high over Quebec and 1/2 of Ontario and quickly descending over the second half of the province in preparation for landing.

  • A meteor travels MUCH faster and does not last quite as long. There are short contrails and long contrails. THIS is a short (airplane) contrail

also, the links you speak of are not visible to check out.

of the metior vids I've seen on youtube, you're looks like an airplane not a meteor.

don't get mad, just realize you are mistaken. no biggie

  • Also click on the #5 beside where it says links to see them. You may also want to click on the 2 at the top of your page to read your messages. "Don't get mad just realize your mistake" and the fact that I'm now giving you an education :)

  • found the links....as for link #5 they've posted 175 Youtube links of varying topics. That is not proof of a Meteor or they're confirmation of such.. link #2 is indeed a video of a fast moving Meteor breaking up in the sky. NOT a plane like yours is.

  • Realize the upload date, also realize these sites add new links by the day. You are going to have to review past pages of theirs to get to my video. The vids you see know will most likely be on another page tomorrow. But the original links will remain the same.

  • link 3 (the Japanese one) is indeed a jet plane. A meteor would NOT take well over 4 minutes to crash to the ground. And THIS one !!*turned*!! to it's left after 4 minutes to proof that that one was indeed a plane. sheeshh... and a couple are UFO photos???? check your links before being so proud of them....

and my "don't get mad" comment is regarding your numerous responses (and thumbs downs) to numerous comments to people. sooo, don't get mad...that I'm giving you an education lol...

  • Ha ha ha, ya, sure you are, and I suppose you are also qualified as an educator. As for the thumbs down, I can only do that once, but never do unless it profanity. So if you see more than one thumb down obviously others viewers also disagreed with the comments. Don't be mad, just realize that there are more opinions than just yours and mine.

  • also, my messages on Youtube read (0) they went to standard email, I'll get to them once I've viewed your videos and responses.

  • Fair enough. You have your settings set up for that, so my mistake there.

  • So, I'm beginning to get a clear picture of your personality now. You are a very arguementative person. Realize this the "airplane" as you call it was traveling on a 90 degree angle towards the ground, what you are not realizing is the object was moiving much faster than it appears as I was following it with the camera, as well as holding the camera on an angle.

  • You said you wanted people to comment on your videos. That's what I'm doing..

As for the travel of the airplane? I was comparing the stillness of the tree's as well as the horisontal travel of the birds to conclude Yes, it is indeed an airplane.

  • Notice the trees leave the frames, yet the object is still in them? Also if you watch a far off object lets say a star, it moved a few million miles but it appears top be standing still to you. This is an effect of distance. The object was obviously at a fair distance away.

  • are we talking about YOUR video? the tree's only leave the screen after your edit and zoom. No stars. Just the birds. Yes, the object was at a distance. Heading to Edmonton...

  • Actually the object was heading south. Hmmn is that were Edmonton is, ha ha.

  • ummm that's even worse.. there are 1000 airports to the South of us...shall I start listing the potential locations for this particular airplane??

  • Ya won't give up on this one will you? I knew this was going to be your response as I was typing the one it is in response too. thers still the matter of trajectory, and seeing the camera was on a somewhat upright tilt it took away from the true visual perception of the actual trajectory. Of course I could change the the to "Meteor Entry or Possible Aircraft as seen from Hamilton Harbour" if it would really make you happy :)

  • lol.. No, you do what you feel. Lets just agree to disagree on this? hehe

  • Ok, that sounds fair, but I'll seriously concider reveiwing this videos contents at a later time. Maybe on camera but if you were there, I wasn't the only one there either that thought the same thing. Photos and videos can sometimes be quite deceptive. How about Big Foot or Nessie for examples, ha ha.

  • oh but those exist ;-)

  • Yes comment away, good or bad I will accept them all :)

  • I did read some of the other comments , I just thought wake was an unusual term for a sky flying object, as to what you filmed, it is moving very slow to be a meteor entering the atmosphere. meteors are traveling anywhere from 50 to a 100 thousand kilometers an hour

ps. I have seem many jets leaving a trail exactly like the film you shot

  • Did you check the links? Linked to space and meteor sites. But you guys are the authorities. Also I was following the object with the camera from a great distance so it gives it the effect of moving slower on video, Similar to filming a race car, it seems to be moving much slower if the camera follows it's movements.

  • wake... I like that term- what about contrail ?

  • either or, most contrails I've seem don't have a large head and taper off at the end, in fact I notice quite the opposite with contrails. Also did you bother to check the links or read the other comments below? Thanks.

  • It's clearly the wake from an airplane cruising at high altitude, the low sun adds to the "meteor" effect.

  • Clearly!! Did you read the comments below??? Hey look at all the meteor and space related sites linking this video. Clearly they must be in agreement with your opinion.

  • mmm filmate otra cosa q no sea un avion che deja de perder el tiempo

  • No un avión, no tiempo perdedor tampoco, gracias:)

  • Just a thought here. Why is it that everytime someone thinks this is something other than I label it to be they give a cocky comment as if they are authorities? Check aerand's comment for example. And when I answer them accordingly they ignore my reply. They last logged in yesterday, I answered them over a week ago. Why do they make these claims if they refuse to back them up? Not as smart as they would like to appear.

  • look more like a jet thats been shot down lol or TEH ALIENS OMG!!!!!!! >:O >:O >:O

  • Well at least you can tell it's not properly flying aircraft as some would seem to believe. I'll give your comment a thumbs up rating for noticing.

  • NAAH!... meteor would be streaking fast across thesky. this was an airplane contrail. Dunno what a contrail is? does the word wikipedia rings any bell? :p

  • Yes it does and you should check some of the links on this video. You think they'd link it if they thought it was a trail left by an aircraft? Are you aware that the tilt of the camera also affects the perceived angle of trajectory on the video? Also as a photographer trying to capture such an image, would you just hold the camera still and let the object quickly fly by? Or would you try and follow it's decent with the camera?

  • Think about it!

  • dude shooting stars are meteors...

  • Thanks guy, I already know that :)

  • I think it was that shooting stars are the ones that burn quickly in the atomosphere and meteors are the ones that take longer to burn and might even end up in the ground.

But I'm not completely sure about it.

  • I always like to look at the night sky and look for planets and stars,I've seen almost every planet but I've never seen meteors or fireballs, just some shooting stars (which are LOT faster than meteors in case some people didn't know). My dad however has and incredible luck and he has seen few of those, even though he doesn't care about astronomy.

  • In this city I wish I could see the night sky at times, ha ha.

  • Meteors are shooting stars there is no difference i'm afraid. This vid looks like a aeroplane.

  • No I live in this city and I know where the airport is. Also planes don't usually come in at 90 degree angles unless they are crashing to the ground, No incidents of of any plane crashes were reported in that time period. Believe me it was no plane. Check the links, do you think these meteor sites linking this vid would link this if they believed it to be a plane?

  • looks more like an aircraft flying towards the horizon with the low sun lighting it from beneath, a meteor wouldnt persist like that while remaining so unaltered in brightness the whole time

  • I realize that videos can be deceptive, believe me the angle and trajectory were much more extreme and on a diagonal path than the video is portraying. What ever it may be it did not behave like an aircraft.

  • not a meteor...

  • Then what? It is falling, not flying, so what is your theory?

  • im absolute sure : that´s not a meteor, they move very fast across the sky, looks like you shot a jet stream...

  • Plumteting down to the ground? Did not hear of any plane crashes. Also I readjusted the frame rate. But anythings possible.

  • Also the camera was following its path so it was moving to match it speed.

  • And you didnt get a shot of her? hehe

  • Actually I got a few, just didn't fit the theme of this video.:)

  • Did they ever come up with what they thought the size of the meteor might have been?

  • I really didn't follow up on it at the time, my mind was more on this girl that was there when I shot this, ha ha.

  • nice but not very sturdy

  • Ya it was a little cold and it was one of those moments that I didn't have a tripod.

  • very cool when was this

  • Last year.
