  • nice vid and info. I am about a 8 months into propellerhead programs. I love it. I didn't get a chance to rewire things you were doing in this vid. But so far as i connect devices together and add on. My sounds seems pretty cool. I could just imagine soon as i really learned all the rewire thing goes. Man i probably be something else. I never used the spider or a few other devices. Peace

my kicks and snares sound much better now

am like neo from the matrix : I KNOW CONGFU :D

    thanx alot !

  • chreees again mr pie will move on to day two now.

  • Dave, awesome tutorial and can't wait for the next 6 days!

How do you choose whether or not to add standard (i.e. not tape) compression to drum elements?

I notice you added it to the snares but not to the kick.

Thanks for the lessons, I've been learning alot! I especially look forward to the synth elements and music theory as they've been superb in the past. All the best.

  • If you feel it needs to be a bit punchier, add some compression :) Simple as.

I wanted the snares to punch as hard as possible, whereas the kicks I wanted to keep as a hypnotic, driving undertone.

Glad you've found the tutorials useful! :D

  • Thank you mate! :D

  • I think it can be made with an 808 drum machine, I've always used samples of it, but you could synthesize something similar.

  • another great tutorial mate, "promote synergy - like a boss"(Lonely Island) glad you got that in lol

  • "Fly into the sun! Now I'm dead!"

    Best lines ever.

  • ha ha ha ever line is EPIC in that track lol gotta say once again many thanks for the tutorials

  • haha I study at Harper :D

  • great tut boi

    lol

  • Ooh, can't you connect the gate output of one kick to the other? Or did you do that already?

  • Comment removed

  • Haha, google doesn't seem to think it is, but when has that stopped anyone before? :P

    Glad you've found it useful!
