  • Excluding major system crashes (BSoD, Mac Power Switch, Guru Meditation, etc.).

    Mac = rainbow beach ball

    Windows = miniature particle accelerator

    Ubuntu = rotary phone dialer

  • 101 people hate beachballs

  • Mac sucks! Windows rules!

  • i like how it plays i windows error sound when he gets hit with the ball

  • @nnnjc1 That's not a windows error sound.

  • You can see the guy laughing as he falls off :D

  • lol XD

  • Dumb.

  • windows suck

  • LOL.

  • who the fuck made tis is so stupid

  • haha i like seeing people get hit by the big green ball..

  • That is so funny when the guy got knocked over by the beach ball!! Made me laugh my pants off! Lol!

  • Windows 7 : a mimimal (though usually infireor) error zone

  • Enter skinny spinny blue circle donut

  • the funny thing is. I run a low-end iMac with OSX Snow Leopard and i've hardly ever seen the beachball. ocassionally (on very rare occasions) and app might crash (usually a beta) and i'll have to force quite it, but otherwise, if i say the beachball it's for 1-2 seconds MAX.

  • @j800r The only apps I ever recall crashing on my Mac and having to force quit them are Microsoft Office and Adobe stuff lol. I love Adobe stuff but man is their code sloppy.

  • haha roflness.. finally Microsoft is making ads taking shots at Mac.. Its about time because Apple has been doing it for ages.

  • AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH HILARIOUS!

  • I love Mac OS X but also the .NET framework. So I use both, Windows is running on a virtual machine on my Macbook Pro.

  • @natrino84 my windows laptop has the blue screen of death every 5 minutes lol saving up for a mac pro and an apple monitor

  • @basicalyimsam If you're getting it for design work I'd recommend the NEC MultiSync range over the Apple ones. Apple make awesome stuff but their monitors aren't quite as brilliant as they once were for professional colour work. They're still outstanding, just there's better ones. The price is higher mind, but a 30" 12bit IPS panel = sex for design work lol. If you have the budget.

  • OS10 A EGG TIMER FREE ZONE

  • tupid. macs dont crash

  • I'd hate to see the analogy for the blue screen of death

  • PWNED!

  • hahahahaha... but... in Windows you're attacked by an hourglass.

  • @nando377X No, not in vista or 7. We're getting attacked by a vortex, or a whirlpool

  • @nando377X or a blue screen

  • @nando377X perfect point.

At least when Apple did they're adds they played to Windows' weaknesses and their own strengths. Microsoft are highlighting their OWN weaknesses and trying to make out that only Mac has it (when in fact Windows is WORSE for it).

  • @nando377X it rarely happens and you can still do things

  • @nando377X and a green spinning donut.

  • @nando377X AND A PAPER CLIP >:(

  • @nando377X rather than a rolling 2D beachball right?

  • @nando377X No more in windows 7 and vista. Now it's a plasma impersonation of a Jack Russel terrier, running around a blue circle. Frankly, it's even more frustrating than the hourglass to me!

  • @nando377X hourglasses hurt more :/

  • @nando377X now its a spinning laser ring

  • @alexphazon

Spinning laser ring ... unless you're still using Windows XP.

  • @nando377X

    WRONG!

    It's a blue ring nowdays!

  • @anthyman1 actually the blue ring is vista, longhorn, and 7

  • @matthew65536

    That's what I said...

  • lol

  • lmfao!

  • HAHAHAHAHA

i love macs, but this was f!ckin hilarious

  • GRRR I don't get it!! :(

  • @ShawnD1 When a mac freezes on loading it has a spinning beach ball, like the egg timer (or blue circle) in windows.

  • @ShawnD1 It's easy man :) On Mac the beachball is used as loading icon :)

  • lol much better than a real Microsoft ad

  • @Keruaran i'm pretty sure that is a real Microsoft ad

  • ye!!!! :D pwnd

  • What the heck?

  • well that wasn't funny nor did i get the point

  • @dmc040 Macs do a beachball icon thing instead of displaying an error message. Its because the guys over at Apple are too stuck-up to admit that their computer has problems. (All software has bugs. The problem is when you don't have a debugger.)

  • lol beachball free zone

  • @AntiFed1791 Mac is Unix and

    Linux isnt Unix....end of debate

  • veeeery good ad... direct to the point

  • I'm john terry and sneaking out windows was my idea.

  • I actually think this is an excellent parody on the Mac advertising campaign. It more or less is pointing out Mac's baseless claims in its advertisement campaign by very blatantly taking a shot at them in a similar manner.

  • Hell yeah. :D

  • "I'm Josef Fritzl, and no windows was my idea"

  • @SweetLeftFoot1971 ROFLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh that is brilliant! :-D

  • Apple now discriminates against smokers! I took my Mac for repair and they said it was a Bio-Hazard!! Check out my video response. I like the computers and software but they take your money and treat you like crap.

  • well that certanly is your personal experience with apple, but i can tell you getting support from microsoft or a hardware company is no petting zoo either. I know, I tried...

But you are right about that smoking thing! I thing apple is just trying to screw you over

  • While certainly their behavior is inexcusable, remember that Apple HAS long been known as an activist company. It's no surprise that its employees are trying to push this stuff on you. And maybe you really should consider quitting. ^.^

  • Please don't be offended but this is the kind of reply that worries me. The message I get is, yes - they are in breach of contract but because you are a smoker, we'll excuse that because it is for your own good. The same argument could extend to politics or religion and I think is dangerous. Why not be upfront with a smokers no repair policy and encourage people that way? I would support this bold move. That way they wouldn't have to profit from smoking, which is what they have done with me :)

  • Oh I certainly agree it's unacceptable and sets a bad precedent. I was basically just saying that this was nothing new, and does fit rather nicely in with Apple's characteristic behavior. They're activist. They promote social issues. And they've been known to get their way through less than upfront methods.

Still a great company though. ^.^

  • Good point but the fact remains that he was a customer who deserved support for his purchased product, they wouldn't help him.

  • lmao

  • I lol'd.

  • i lol'd

  • Omgosh. That's the same sound effect from Mass Effect, when your weapon overheats.

  • LOL

  • LOL

  • I'd rather run something a bit more secure built on a Unix Platform.

  • @mykylc, mac osx is built on a unix platform. still gave you a little thumbs up though

  • hhhahaha sorry...yea, I was referring to OSX. The only time my windows machine runs on a Unix platform is when I put my windows laptop on top of my Mac Book Pro.

  • No more Blue screen of death in windows 7 an. It doesnt have a beachball either, now isn't that a good news?

  • @gangstabib It's now called the black screen of death. The good news is it can still be called the BSOD!

  • he didnt install google chrome corretly

  • id rather have a beach ball any day over the blue screen of death and the other consistent problems with windows.

  • i havent had a blue screen of death since the late 90's, so, maybe you're a fucking idiot?

  • @KoolDudester i had it a few times because i forgot the drivers, on vista... I never got The blue screen. Mac's are for people who can't use computers like my sister. She keeps on getting the shitty black screen on her Mac and what the crap is "Mac's are no allowed on non-mac computers?" Seriously, Microsoft allows you to install their OS wherever you want

  • @KoolDudester As a technician who fixes people's Windows systems (among other computers and devices) I see BSoD's regularly.

  • @Keruaran and as an IT, i see kernel errors and beach balls regularly! lol! (really, i do)

  • i didn't get it...

  • It's just a simple joke, not really attacking Mac at all. People just like seeing people getting hit by beach balls.

  • @Zigazgman1 No, its a parody of the Mac's "loading" thing, where the cursor turns into a beach ball.

  • you suck!

  • Comment removed

  • windows

    a beachball free zone LMFAOOOOOOOOO

  • i lol'd

  • ahh the beachball of doom.......

  • may be beach ball free but not blue scream free ......

get norton and keep you P.C VIRUS FREE ...

or get a mac and never worry about virus again ...

mac's the only way forward .. don't buy window 7 it's the say old rubish ...

  • ahha damn thats funny

  • windows is better cause ... they have a beachball freezone lol?

  • LOL!!!

  • SOSUMI sound of death,,,,

  • iHorsiee, Experts already stated that Macs are easier to hack than PC's. The only reason why people do not is because there are much fewer Mac users than PC users.

  • @inemtsev: That's complete and utter bull. Fewer does not mean few. The Mac user base was 22,000,000 users in March 07, think about how many there are now.

  • @ HomeGrownMalaysian even if it was 22 million in 07, that is about 1/20th of how many PCs there were, and imagine how many PCs are there now.

  • Exactly! And instead of thinking about how many PC's there is, think of all the things than are running 95, 98, XP, Vista! Its much MUCH MUCH more than 22 Million! Ever seen XP run on a tiny tiny tiny tablet? Maybe not, but I know I've not seen OSX on it.

  • i have mac and i love this ad! its hilarious! no computer is perfect but i like what i got

  • LMFAO

  • Hey iHorsiee you must be a Steve Job's son because you are a liar like him.

     X + V = 7

  • X + V = 15

  • i get it, but it doesnt prove anything, its basically sayin that there load icon isnt a beachball

  • yeh a horrible pixilated egg timer haha.

  • i dont think u get it dude, theres a beach ball of death on a mac which is the loader gets stuck and freezes so you either reboot and hope its just the software because if it isnt then u have to replace ur entire computer

  • no, you get a beachball when it is loading, like the xp had the hour glass

  • what the fuck are you smoking? You get that as a loading cursor for like 5 seconds i something is loading, your a dumb ass who has never owned a mac

  • no ur a dumbass, what do u think the whole video is about the problem with the mac is called "the beachball of death" and theres a beachball that hits him in the face, COINCIDENCE? perhaps u should google it instead of being a fucking idiot

  • Oh...I get it...

  • The funny thing about the beach ball is you can actually remedy it and it's not hard at all XP

  • yeah well talk XP but i use vista

  • Hey, guess what? Do macs have to shut down to protect viruses? Can macs not have Microsoft applications? Does apple spend all of their money on advertising instead of improving their products? Am I typing on a zune? Can I make flippin good looking reports on Microsoft word? The answer to all of that is NO. Hey 'cause when they rarely quit, you can force quit the application and start it up again! It's ok too! Face it, PCs suck. You can't get around that.

  • Hey, Guess what? PC's are more stable due to antivirus, you can run OSX on a PC. Macs dont have the money to do much advertising. iPod Touch is not basically free unless you jailbreak it. Mac uses Microsoft Office anyways. Hey, my programs are stable and i never have to force quit. Now. You can make a Hackintosh with way better specs then an iMac for 500 dollars less anyways. And the PC has a little thing called gaming support.

  • I horse the reason why they sell microsoft products to apple, is not only is it a smart marketing idea, it is also because apple word is terrible, microsoft word ftw, want to play some video games, o yeah that's right you have a mac lol. I respect your opinion for mac, but pc is better in so many ways, I love windows 7

  • Hardly, Macs can run games, just developers don't spend the time to develop. If you want to play a game, play it properly on a console rather than typing and shit. Also, just because Apple have iWork, doesn't mean you can't use MS Office on the Mac... Douchebag.

  • Proper gaming is not on a console, what the hell are you talking about. Its on a computer.

  • ok first apple products like iwork is better, but just to compare your reason Microsoft word has it for mac not only is it for mac but a newer version of it is for mac then windows the newest 1 for windows is '07 the newest 1 for mac is '08 which the '08 version has way more features which are all in iwork.

  • I've had wicked bad experiences with leopard, at my school, it always closed on my, applications wouldn't, anyways mac stole microsoft's nt kernel, so the only thing that apple made themselves was their desktop design. By the way, microsoft runs apple's website, and microsoft runs windows website. Think about that... lol

  • WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT Microsoft steals everything from apple, dock, aero/aqua the desktop, the mouse, the OPERATING SYSTEM, etc go watch the DOCUMENTARY PIRATES OF SILICON VALLEY!

  • ...That's a movie.

And Apple stole the Mouse from Xerox, by the way.

The Taskbar is NOT a Dock and it doesn't function like a Dock.

And Operating System? IBM's the champ.

  • @yauhui: *bought the mouse, might I correct you.

  • @HomeGrownMalaysian: They didn't exactly buy the mouse. They traded it with company share.

So, after all, it wasn't Apple's invention.

  • They didn't invent it, but they sure as hell didn't steal it.

  • @HomeGrownMalaysian: Neither had Microsoft, in that respect.

  • First its a documentary do u know what that means I assume your a dumb ass so go look it up

Second the task bar in windows 7 is a dock and works exactly the same as a dock

Third IBM GAVE THEM THE MOUSE BECAUSE THEY DIDNT WANT IT then Microsoft stole it outright

Well i would say a forth but that fourth thing doesn't even make any sense

  • Comment removed

  • First of all, it is a MOVIE. It plays on HBO, not Discovery Science. You are the stupidest Mac fanboy I've seen in my life, so go look it up.

Second, the taskbar is a taskbar.

Third, what the heck are you talking about.

Well I'm really interested to hear your fourth, because everything you've said on this entire comment page doesn't even make any sense so I'm sure whatever you were about to say is fine alright.

Lastly, you have a damned keyboard, so type properly. Are you six or what?

  • l o fukin l

    best shit ive ever seen

  • Who has ever gotten the blue screen of death on a windows since the 90s? That's an antiquated rumour!

  • uh its called vista.....

  • uhhh if your're overclocking, then it can happen...

  • well i effin' lol'd. I must be the only mac lover that doesn't take it serisouly.

  • I didn't get it..

  • when a mac crash you get an spinnig multicolor thing (something like a beachball). So, his mac crashed.

  • and thats y u use windows XP or 7, please do not use Vista I once plugged in an empty flash drive, and it said play DVd im like wtf?! i click play DVD and i get the BSOD.... another time im just sitting thinking of wich game to play and i get a BSOD, a third time im browsing through online games and it says it found a new device, my printer, wich i plugged in about 3 months ago!!

  • ok... so windows has the blue screen of death, XBOX has the red ring of death, and Macs have the beach ball of death. it all makes sense now lol

  • The beach ball is actually not "of death" in the same sense that the blue screen is. There is what is called a "kernel panic" on a Mac. But its much less rare than the bsod. The beach ball is more or less equivalent to the old hourglass in windows - a non responsive or "thinking/processing" app. Or something like that.

  • fuckers

  • Mac OS X - An hourglass and blue screen of death FREE zone

    :-)

  • a professional and value free zone, more like

  • Actually Macs are used by both the average user and professionals alike. Not to mention with a Mac you get a longer life and a more stable running computer so the value is measured long term. Aside from that Macs of like form factor with PCs are fairly priced. The iMac is more expensive than some Dell all in ones, but much cheaper than Sony's all in ones.

  • Hourglass?...

    HOURGLASS?

Oh yeah, must've been 3 years since i last saw one of those.

And i'm not on a mac.

    And i don't have a high-end computer.

Last time i saw the blue screen of death, was.. Well, must've been my Windows XP computer, the one i had BEFORE my last one.

    That one sucked.

    Mac has gotten better.

    But so has windows.

  • Yes Hourglass! The typical thing that happens when Windows is thinking. It happens on all Windows machines. My roommates Vista laptop was doing that not long ago when we put a dvd in it and it couldn't figure out what to do with it. Sad.

On my Mac it just opens it and plays it. Vista acted like it was confused!

  • Because Vista sucks, idiot.

  • No Vista REALLY sucks, idiot.

  • Touché.

  • because it realy depends what programs you use on the windows as your default player cause quiktime is the only good dvd player and vista uses a pin wheels not an hur glass

  • lies

  • What are you saying is a lie? That my Mac just opened the file without any trouble? Or that Vista acted like it was confused? Or both? Or something else?

  • if you put a DVD in vista a menu pops up asking if you want to play it in media player, media center...

  • So a menu should have popped up? It didn't. It just sat there. I think when my friend tried them to play the dvd is when it acted weird. I can't remember exactly - I just recall that it was odd. I put a dvd in my mac and it automatically opens the dvd player.

  • That was funny!

  • Comment removed

  • Macs don't get viruses because not that many people use them (about %3.5 market share currently). if macs had the kind of market share windows had, yeah- they'd have viruses. just like windows.

  • i know that. i mean when i got avast antivirus when i searched my PC it said it had a trojan horse in it... one that i didn't download!

  • 1. where did you get the computer? (if it wasn't retail or if it was a display computer, there's the problem. anybody could've done anything to it.)

    2. if you downloaded ANYTHING, a trojan could've been secretly attached to it.

  • i dont know where i got my PC, my parents gave it to me a few years ago.

and it's got no internet, i bring my downloaded files to it through my flash drive or ipod.

  • Everyone knows that. But it's not the point. Macs don't get viruses. Period. If they were more numerous, they would get viruses. But they're not more numerous, so they don't get any. End of story.

  • macs do get viruses, but 99% of the advrage hackers dont know mac osx is based offf of unix

    so, yeah they CAN.

I can run the safest server in the world; immune to viruses. HOW you ask? the secret is Macintosh, not that osx crap

  • I'm not trying to say that macs can't get viruses. I'm just saying that they don't get viruses because most hackers don't make viruses for macs.

  • that... buh...

    What the hell?

This commercial does NOTHING to even imply that Windows is better... it just maims a guy with a beachball.

  • Iunno I'd buy windows if I saw someone get maimed with a beachball

  • thats the best they could come up with? Macs are the shit!!

  • yeah, no beachball in Vista, instead you get a spinning ring, or even worse, nothing at all.

  • WTF

  • scared the shit out of me!

  • that made me crack up to death hahahahahaha

  • lol, is this real???

  • ffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
